I've done some experimenting with shots and heals.
Here are my current conclusions:
- Without shots, the square root of your MAtk is added onto your heals as a power bonus. In the six different heals I tried with two weapons and without a weapon at all, this was consistant. I am confident in it.
- The boost that a heal receives from using shots does not depend on the heal's power rating, but rather on the level at which the skill was learned and MAtk. I can't confirm this with certainty because I only have two heals (Major/Vitalise) of which I have 'top' levels for my current level: Greater Heal is two skill sets behind due to my main being an elder.
This turned out unfortunately irrelevant for my original purpose (I wanted to know something about paladin heals), but it does mean something good - SEs should still receive the same boost from shots to their greater heal now as they did before the trickle change.
If anyone has further data (I need MAtk, skill, skill level and shots/no shots), I'd be very interested in hearing it.
hmm i got a SE level 70 i use a =( SOM +4 on her :(((
but i realy dont notice a difrance if i use Shots or not when it comes to healing mebie 200 more HP when useing shots
Don't have hte exact numbers here right now but before it was around this.
Normal heal nothing more then that: 800 HP or so
with BSPS ~1080.
Now normal heal with empower 3: 850 HP or so. and with BSPS as well 1082 or so.
Basicly the effect of hte BSPS with high M.atk makes almost no difference at all, it makes quite a big difference to add BSPS, but the extra effect with more M.atk is almost NONE.
And 200 HP is a rather big amount to say 'not much' to.
I'd have to agree. Being a Swordsinger, therefore often on the receiving end of those heals (shotted or not) in tanking/emergency tanking/oh, 923! We're all gonna die! scenarios.... +/-200 HP can be the difference between living long enough to score that last critical hit with my 'Slayer, or taking a dirt nap.
Well I found something odd with mayor heal and something strange to do with M.atk.
Anyhow I today bought the last piece for my subclass chars gear, +8 Homun, 10+ Homun ( well Goils and mine )
Anyhow my discovery was this, that it seems like 'way' higher M.atk doesn't boost heal at all. it seems to boost it a tiny bit if you got some M.atk but later on the effect is not much.
Anyhow:
+8 Homunkulus, with BSPS:
(35 INT) 1039
(37 INT) 1061 ( 22 more )
+10 Homunkulus with BSPS + Empower 1 (810 M.atk)
(35 INT) 1096
(37 INT) 1098 (2 more )
Basically if you got empower, INT seems to basically have no effect at all. It seems to boost a bit thought, but extra int seems to basic have ZERO effect if you got empower. I find this kind of odd. It's also possible that you can only get a serten bonus 'HP HEALED' with BSPS to, and the limit seems to hit 1k M.atk or something of that kind.
Worth to mention without BSPS the heal difference between +3 and +10 was 3 HP :P So don't bother get an relaly OE'd homun to heal beter if you don't use BSPS.
Voodoo Doll (NG) (matk 167) tried Blue Wolf Robes for this test only, -2 Int is responsible for the lower heals.

Edit to add % change with BSps. I also check to make sure that I did use NG Bsps, and I did. Still have some in inventory. Odd that the percent increase is so small with the NG Bsps
Blessed effects it you wil find a total difference with SpS so to get your best numbers Bless is the key. Though to root/WS/Trance etc you then do have to have a good Matk so unless you plan to do nothing but heal you need a good weapon.
It's not percentage based (as I wrote on my first post) but absolute depends on the level of the heal learned (where GH for elders is below major/vitalise because bishops get it earlier).
