It is a game where a music is played and arrows go showing up in the screen. There are arrows in the floor of the machine and you need to hit the same that appear in the screen.

Some people like to dance while stepping on the arrows.

No, Simon required memory in order to play. DDR only requires memory if you want to show off while playing.
