Did NC confirm that chronicle 5 will be the last chronicle?

Lineage 1 got about 10k active players still, and they still get expansions. Pretty much sums it down right?

i dont think that we will see L3 wery soon / just cause L2 is wery popular (not talking about NA servers). and there is no need to purchase new product that will kill existing one in the time when L2 still have potential to bring alot of money

And they already said L I, L II and L III will stand next to one another. PleChan already said it right.

I read in the booklet that came with the game about 2 years ago that there were suppose to be 12 major updates (chronicals).. I think L3 will be out before the end of L2 because alot of people will end up playing both games. I am sure there is a large % that play other mmo's also I personally play 3 :)

And anyway, Lineage 3 is still a very distant horizon. There isn't even any information on it yet that's been made public.

There will be a few more major updates, unless someone releases Pickles Online....that game will kill all other MMORPGs....

we havent got much feedback on L3 right? create a game like this takes many many many years....so, it wont hit the market in a feew years yet.

Actually, what they last said was that the BETA for L3 would hit toward the end of this year.

There is no info at all about L3 on the Plaync site. I think originally Aion was going to be the 3rd installment of Lineage. My understading is that its original name was changed to Aion. That may be what the beta at the end of this year is.

The average development time for an MMO is also 4 years, so if they restart from scratch now, expect it maybe2011.

hmmm... I don't buy it. Start from scratch? Nah. That doesn't seem right. Well, they did say they were going to introduce L3 info in early 2007, so we'll see.

That L3 thread on blah sounds totally fabricated. I can't see why anyone would start to believe it without some sort of solid proof.

There is something about seeing a topic in print that lends it some sort of credibility.

But I highly doubt that "suddenly" they realized they didn't like their project manager and decided to just write everything off as a loss. They might decide to change things but scratch? nah.

From what I understand, Aion is intended to be a departure from NCSoft's tradtional Korean grinder and be more "Western-style" (read as: WoW or EQ2?) in gameplay.

This could be awesome, given their technical and artistic proficiency.

You are understanding correctly. As much as i know right now is that leveling will be different than grinding. Someone who has more info on that might be able to fill us in more. I may be wrong about this but I believe Aion was originally titled "Lineage Forever" or something along those lines.

More westerner = different type of grinding than whacking mobs ad infinitum, 2 sides against each other, WASD controls, damage given + taken popping above head and level/class/aggro/etc visible on click?
The game concept and all looks nice IMO, let's see what it's gonna really gonna be when it starts.
