can i win hero?

i want hero.. heh so does everyone i guess.. but im a SH, and the couple times ive tried the olympiad i have lost.

Should i only play sh vs sh?

Is there even any hope to win vs point traders?

Should i OE my sleep/scilence to 10+?

Is there any hope at all?!

:D
sorry sh will never be the deciding factor on who is hero
if someone is point tradeing you out of hero status you are screwed unless you can point trade yourself back, sh just isnt a good enough olympiad class to win on their own

prolly not enough ppl to do SH vs SH and if there was the point traders wont chose that option

sure + your skills as high as you like but the odds get pretty bad at +6 especially if you are anything short of 78
hope you fight a mage and silence lands.... if you have no competition that is.
Im 15% away from 78 and all my xp from then on is for OE skills so i will be able to have many many tries :) (and still have 75% more pvp time ^^)

..but i am a Olympiad noob :(

Cant seem to find much detailed info on how the Olympiad works either.. i dont understand how the points get traded around.. or if you lose/win more points or less depending on whatever. how many times you can play or the differences between class only or FFA.

hows all that work?

i can tell you what i know but certain things still confuse me
for starters forget about class only competitions they pretty much dont exist

point system is what really confuses me but its something to the effect that you gamble a % of the person who has the lowest points poinst
so say one guy has 100 points and the onther guy has a billion points if you win you win 10 points if you lose you lose 10 points
thats how it was explained to me but it never seems to work that way
basically the way i see it is if i fight and win i win 1-3 points
if i fight and lose i lose 3-6 points, no friggn idea why that happens but it always does

they way the point tradeing works is a factor of how overpowered some classes are compared to others
for almost all ppl the classes to watch out for are glads, prophets and summoners
basically what will happen is your enemy clan will make sure they have their overpowered classes active as much as posible, if you go up against them you lose because they are.... overpowered
then when your competition faces them they just take a dive

remember i said points are a % thing?
they lose the first match and your competition gains 7 points
they lose again and your competition gains 20 points
they lose again and your competition gains 40 points
for a class as weak as SH is in the olympiad pretty much all your competition needs is one fight thrown to them to win, that however depends on who you fight vs who they fight you may get lucky and fight nothing but BH (who still have a chance to beat you) and they might be stuck fighting nothing but prophets and glads

my last trip into the olympiad i done the 9 fights minimum like i always do (safest bet when you lose more fights than you win)
out of those fight i was randomly selected to fight against 5 prophets 3 summoners and 1 SK all of those classes i have a 0% chance to beat
had my competition lucked out and got 1 or 2 fights against mages (relatively easy to beat) he would have had more points than me and won
Get ready for Interlude. There may be a big boost for SH in Olympiad with Curse: Fear affecting players. You may also want to OE Slow and Silence for land rate. These debuffs and Arcane Chaos will probably be the path to victory. I'll probably finish noblesse quests in time for Interlude so I'm getting pumped up. Hopefully I won't be too disappointed.

yeah we will have to see how fear works out but atm the no blessed sps rule in olympiad makes landing debuffs pretty hard

keep in mind you will also be without all your cool nuker tools like acumen, zerk and dances so the average warrior class will be ready to hit you with ripose (so maybe 50% chance to land debuff and a 30% chance that it gets reflected back to you if it lands)

your spells do jack damage and without pot spam even crappy dorf and tank hits start to add up fast
i wont give you any tips cause so far nukers are one of the only classes i can consistantly beat but with a bit of thought you do stand a chance at least against me
feeding points only way to win if not on the mag allience side

The point transfer is 1/5 of the point total of the combatant with the lowest number of points rounded down.

Does anyone know if Riposte stance has a chance to reflect Arcane Chaos debuff? The whole point of Arcane Chaos is to make it easier to debuff, it would be wierd if it were subject to being reflected.

ive done some pretty hardcore trials and so far the only debuff it doesnt reflect is cubic debuffs
havent tried arcane chaos but id say it reflects

yeah thats the way it was explained to me
everytime i win i win 1-3 point
everytime i lose i lose 3-6 points
i guess that just shows i only beat ppl with really low points
