I got an (old) copy of Lineage II. Always wanted to try it out and here I am.
for some reason, i can only choose a mage or a warrior. is my copy that old?
I've played GW for a year and WoW for about half a year. But there's something about lineage II that just appealed to me. i don't know anyone personally who plays this game, so i was wondering if there was anyone nice to enough to show me around. i'm in 'kain' but i'm so new i can always make a new one else where. only thing i will be loosing is my name for the nect 6 days. heh.

all classes start with the option of a warrior or a mage (dwarves are only melee)
after you reach level 20 your character branches off into race specific classes (again at lvl 40 then 75)
for more info i'll give you a link
quote wars!!
while all classes branch at 20, 40 and 76 not all classes have an actual option (though they all have to do a long stupid quest)
for example a dwarf at 20 might chose to be a scavenger
at lvl 40 they are forced to become a bounty hunter and at lvl 76 they are once again forced to become a fortune seeker
the only time they get any choice in the matter is at lvl 20
a light elf might chose at 20 to be a healer and from that point on their class path will never change again (but you have to change class at 40 and 76 still)
at lvl 76 no class gets to chose what they become that is decided usually at their lvl 40 class change
nod of the hat to you, you caught me on that one- and if I actually looked at the link i gave i might have caught myself there
also you can now choose a subclass from any race at lvl 75.
the class is chosen from any lvl40 class of any race
*note- there are some restrictions such as you cant double-up on your own class and If the race of your main class is Elf or Dark Elf, you may not select each class as a subclass to the other class also there are some restrictions as to being a hawkeye (an archer) and a Silver Ranger/Phantom Ranger (both of which are archers) just for examples.
and as for the first post (by shiro85) you can never actually have an "old" copy of LII because the game updates itself to the newest patch(es) automaticly when you log in. There are some things you can get extra with newer disks of the game such as "sahaya's white mask" with the epic collection package
thanks nameless and refenwe. this whole changing class is new to me. never seen anything like it before. well there is the professions you can change in WoW, but that's sorta different..
i was just a little confused beacuse my copy only went up to chapter 3 and i see the expansions went up to chapter 5.
i'm still open for recruitment. if any guild are recruiting, just send me a PM or something. i promise i will try to keep the noobsness down. at least i have some mmo expereince down right?
