Ok I got my Elemental Summoner to 52. Im wondering if I should even bother using shots on myself when Im out grinding. Merrows P.Atk far exeeds my own. So Im thinking I could get by on using only shots on Merrow and not on myself. What ya guys think?
there are no shots you need if your summon is grinding except pet shots. well, u could use a NG weapon and spam bspsng for the speed, but you wouldnt really need to anyway.
I'm only using SS on my pony, since it does so much more damage than I can, unless I get a +++weapon (which I won't invest in just for an alt). This is really just because I hate having to go back to town to restock. Of course I do use bsps for better and faster heals.
Im not sure about ES, but on my warlock I made about 40-45% of the damage at lvl52, with shots.
so its all about time vs costs. you will grind maybe 20% faster if you use shots and a good weapon (i had a +8 Aoba HP) and my summon used shots all the time.
If you DONT use shots, you will end up using more heals/bsps, so I did go with using shots, unless you are very poor.
BUt playing a summoner you can manor very well, so you should make a lot of money. (I made ~4-5m in 5 hours of grinding in apostate)

No you put it in your own bar. Pets and summons are different so he doesnt have a inventory.
I just discovered SkyShadow Meadow. Its great! Only problem Im encountering there is when my summon gets smacked and cancels his casting. I normally die if it happens more than once. But Im getting the hang of it! I did die about 7 times yesterday but give it a few more days I should have a system for Skyshadow figured out! Thanks for your input everyone. :cool:
I remember the days when SS spamming was for emergencies and PVP...thats why you can have 9 people in a party, because it used to make sense because you would kill SOO much faster than just 3 or 4...but now that SS's are never off, it doesnt make sense to have 9 people where 4 people are just as efficient.
There are still effective places for a 9 man party like imperial tomb or forge of the gods. Also spamming shots on a summoner will make you level decently faster. Myself i'd say it's more costly than it's worth but it WILL raise kill speed noticably.
Oh yeah...When I lvld my summoner I used only pet shots... I only cared a minimum of SS for myself as I would use them in an emergency. It was a bit slower than if I was spamming oth shots, but I could stay out and lvl for an insanely long period of time without having to come back to resupply.

If it looks like your summon is about to die, UD and ruuunnn!! :p
