Dorfs and magical things

it's true : all dwarves are magical users.

Look at the spoil's description :
spoil level 1 :Imbues a monster with a magic that allows them to be susceptible to Sweeper.

So... discuss on possible magical abilities for dorfs?
Yet you can still spoil when your silenced ^^
They should actually fix that description no?

Yet you can still spoil when your silenced ^^

thats cause when us dorfs cast spells we dont use words like the weak elves

cant think of any cool magic stuff for WS's but i wouldnt mind being able to craft boss jewles, thats would prolly be cornered by the WS farmers so meh

Bh should get a cdl skill
the lower their mp the more damage it does and of course it spoils as well, so no more resting a whole party because the BH runs out of MP <---- magic points or mana points OMG dorfs dont use magic everyone freak out 555
There's a Korean comic that shows a dwarf spoiling, but it literally shows them tearing a corpse apart, nothing magic about that XD
I seem to remember a massive hammer coming down on that innocent bat... what did it do to anyone?

And yes, some special dwarf magic would have been cool, but it's way too late now.
Oh yeah prophecy of earth
made a post about it before like um....
all races have prophecy
dorfs earth based. no prophecy
why?

think that about sums it up
Dark elves don't have a prophecy of the right element, neither do humans nor orcs.

for sweeping i'm ok with you, but here, it's just spoiling...To spoil, u don't have to 'touch' the mob

all dorfs can have Spoil, so all dorfs can have magic abilities.
Dwaves have some magic as they can also cure bleeding. But let's face it even the stupidest human can do rudimentary things. As such a dwarf's magic is rudimentary. Be happy with it.
The dwarven cure bleed is a physical skill - aptly called bandage, which is in fact what they do when the cure bleeding, animation aside. Magical self-cures cast much slower.

They do, in fact, not have a single magical skill in game at the moment.
Nah, I don't care for magical things.

Let us do simple mundane things, like repairing castle doors and walls, building temporary fortifications, building ships/airships/wagons, defoliating the Elven Forest, sabotaging other people's equipment, or etching our names onto the weapons and armour we make.
Its false, no dwarf can use any magic. Spoil is worded incorrectly, it is a physical type skill, hence it can be used while silenced. And any skill that dwarves have which can be stopped with silence isn't because it is magical in nature, but just for easy balance. Dwarves were not meant to ever use magic of any type. that is why the only classes dwarves have are warsmiths (who build things from weapons to golems, and need actual weapon parts to peice back together already built magical weapons like a jigsaw puzzle), and bounty hunters who spoil additional mats from mobs (pick pockets). I think thats pretty clear that dwarves have no magical affinity whatsoever. In fact, if this were another work of fiction, dwarves would be called pristinely ungifted.

:) yeah dwarfs are of the earth and they're practical thinkers.
Magic in Lineage2 has spiritual connection. I don't think dwarfs experience spirituality in the same way.
So they don't have connection to the same magic network the other races have. :)
Having recently looked through my cellar, I found the old Blood Bowl box... so now I want to have the Dwarven Steam Death Roller and the Dwarven Steam Killdozer, both as rideable pets pretty please :)

The Killdozer would have like 50.000 P.Def to the front and 0 to the sides and back and only push players forward.
The Death roller would have like 10.000 P.Def (more fragile), but roughly 50.000 P:Atk. towards the front.. It would be difficult to steer though, so might attack a few friends as well... but who would count a few rolled over "friendly" elves.

Dwarven Steam Kitten
and i thought only god a dwarf got is adena's :)
no spoil skill just need a good description i dunno why i even cost MP's like sweep they sud rename for dwarfs instant of MP's something like stamina to fix the confusion about dwarfs & magic

The Killdozer would have like 50.000 P.Def to the front and 0 to the sides and back and only push players forward.

Killdozer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071717/) gave me nightmares as a kid... :(

All this sounds wonderful. Especially that part about defoliating the Elven Forest. **** Elves, always frolicking around. Wish they would go do some real work, like keep my forge lit.

... no more resting a whole party because the BH runs out of MP <---- magic points or mana points OMG dorfs dont use magic everyone freak out 555

So that means that shooting an arrow is magic.
Mana also means concentration, will, or stamina.
You were once a child? That's a disturbing thought.

Yes, more mounts/unique gear for dwarves would be cool... although maybe not quite like that.

Mana also means concentration, will, or stamina.

mana is defined as a spiritual inner power more than likely similar to chi

putting all this aside and the fact i already explaned all of this
spoil has a magical description, i wont debate dwarves haveing any magic because apart from big boom and all nobless and hero skills we dont have any

my argument for the last post however was why not?
dwarves are born of the earth, we arnt created by a mother and father like all the lesser races we just magically pop up at the goblin zone when we are created
exactly what says we can not or will not use magic?

the lore says every race (maybe not humans?) has a god and all other races recieve magic from those gods
for some reason our god just decided not to give us magic.... yet

im still holding out for a dwarven prophecy though
make it a physical skill like spoil just to be fair,
description:
magically inbues target with increased speed and resistance, creates a strong magical barrior that increases pdef, call on the power of the earth gods to magically boost attack speed
costs 5 spirit ore
thats a physical skill so it still works while silenced and obviously it cant be interupted like a spell

weeee everyone is happy now
Here you go

Prophecy of Maphyr

Makes the targeted friendly (or hostile) female target more fertile, increasing the odds of getting pregnant. Main uses, extorting alimony checks from fathers.

Target is slowed, and randomly comes down with morning sickness. Target also goes through mood swings, losing target and selects someone in party/clan/ally to attack
I want the 2nd Prophecy of Maphyr
Changes ones DNA after fertile target hrm... bears fruit or even shows signs thereof.
If dwarfs want a offencive attack they should get a bomb or a cannon the the golem has and make us the best nuker ingame... No magic required just a big cannon ball flying at your enemy.. :p and the bomb can be like a trap with a trip wire you set up in a cata like a land mine.. then everyone reroll to dwarf!!

But seriously the cannon attack would be cool

does one of they're summons/creations not have a cannon atk?
When was Maphr renamed to Maphyr? >:/

and all other races recieve magic from those gods

Dark elves do not. :o And Orcs do not either (if you check their lore), they learned magic from the humans and elves and are using their totems to help control it.

lol i do not know if i want to get into this. But did Dark elves not once belong to to the elf tribe they are still they're kin.

They're skin is different from the cave dwelling but they were banished soley for praticing dark magic, which they learned, themselves. from shillen
So at the time of teaching magic they were still part of the elven tribe?

does one of they're summons/creations not have a cannon atk?

Yes the golem had the cannon attk i was saying it would be cool if you could use it with out the summon...

They were obviously just copying Human Necromancers. And their goddess at that time was still Eva.

you caught me i know jack about the lore ><

we have 2
mech golem cannon which hits about as hard as a melee swing
and wild hog cannon which only hits castle walls and as an added bonus the summon is 1 hittable by a high lvl mage or archer despite its million adena summon cost

i vote for uber cannon summon
set up the cannon and it has 3000 range, low accuracy, aoe and huge damage output
sucks to be a bh though so just give them aoe slow, recharge, bishop heals and 100% rez as well as every prophecy
Krissa is right - dark magic is not a gift from Shilen, it is a corruption of her original magic which the dark elves learned from the humans.

Wind magic is not a gift from Shilen, either. :p

lol ty for clearing that up for me :)

Why? would that not be a bit of a repetitive skill?

shilien and mephisto (or whatever my gods name is) buddies?
they both screwing over their races i guess
shilen was the goddess of water but is now the goddess of deathm so dark attribute i suppose.
Originally only elves had magic. In their war against the orcs the humans offered to ally with them if the elves taught them magic. Dark magic came later but originally all magic came from the elves. Humans created dark magic when they began turning on the elves.

According to the Game Lore, the split between the Elven tribes did not occur until after the fall of the Giants, the war with the humans, the establishment of the Elmoreden Empire, the establishment of the Einhasadian myth, the first war with Gracia, the rise and fall of the demon Beleth, and the construction of the Ivory Tower.

However, Elves did not learn Dark Magic from the Humans, despite what the lore states. Those who were to become Dark Elves may have learned some tricks from Dasparion, but he is by no means the source of dark magic. This is evidenced by the fact that Trader Creamees of the Elven Village is responsible for summoning the demon Kirkunel (might be off on the name) who is the boss of the Elven Fortress.

The ban against dark magic and elves is a cultural one, not a matter of inability.

It used to say that Elves were born directly from the Mother Tree herself, though it has been many chronicles since that was changed to be less.... strange.

It also used to name Shilen as the Goddess of the deep seas and sexuality, too... but, again, that has been edited out.

Further, no god "gave" Elves magic. The Giants had magic, we figured it out from their ruins.
Humans were created by Gran Kain, though He has abandoned His children in much the same way that they have abandoned Him.

The Human belief in and veneration of Einhasad is a complete fabrication, a political move created by the Elmoreden Emporer during the foundations of that kingdom. Given their origins, I am sure She would probably do to them what She did to the Giants, were She paying any attention to them at all.

and i hate lore :P
but ive said it many times before dont freak out if NC gives us magic and especially dont freak out if a skill sounds like it might be magic
non sub classed nuker dwarf... hmm give those necros a run for #1 class... and if we are so mechanically inclined and can make a giant hog cannon or siege golem why cant we make a m-16 or ak-47?

I think the new skill will still be mechanical some how, or wont weapon based so it wont really look magical.
Try medieval game environment. :)
Way back in Prelude/C1 i've always thought an Alchemy type dwarf would be a good idea. One who could create potions to throw (nuke) or self buff (useless now). Would keep away from them being 'magic', but yet give some ranged attacks and mystic traits to dwarves while using their ingenuity instead of their magic ability. Would have fit into the story from that standpoint.

This game has progressed too far to add anything like this now I believe, and my dwarf is already Maestro and subbed so not like I'd pursue the idea. Just woulda been nice to expand the dwarf class tree a bit back then...

You wouldnt have to keep it away frmo being 'magic' either. Alchemy is a form of earthly magic i guess as i believe any form of magic to be deeper knowledge and control of the elements involved past the physical surface you can touch/feel/see. So a dorf shoving its fist into the ground and then by its much deeper knowledge of the earth and its abilities have various phosphor essences and other sulfur crap that you need in explosives gather up on the rock they hold in their clenched fist that they then throw at their enemies, lol.

Hey... its no more stranger than an Sps in the middle of the dried out desertlike wastelands ammasing a ball of water or a SH swimming underwater creating a nuke of wind shaped like a disc with sharp sawlike thorns on, not to mention if a necro was swimming down into a cata doing their firenukes underwater :P
