I saw Mistryl at the Valentine's Day Wishing Well last night, looking quite lovely in Majestic robes with a golden name.
She looked much better-kept than some of our previous GM/HGM visitors, though perhaps things have changed and GMs are now allowed to have custom avatars.
I'm also pretty sure that, apart from their "GM Characters" they have as many or as few "regular" characters as the next player, and have to deal with all the same frustrations and events that we do... on the other hand, maybe they start the game with an "I WIN" button pre-equipped.
Still, nothing beats the old EQ1 GMs... they'd have custom avatars and gears, and would arrive/depart on pillars of flame with much pomp and circumstance. For some, the ban-hammer was an actual item they'd carry around... though, as I recall, it did not actually do anything to PCs. Also, as I recall, the GM /kill command didn't work on PCs either, just mobs and NPCs.
Though I think the demi-gods of Aden should be allowed, with their GM characters, to 1-shot whomever they choose.
We do play for fun with normal characters, just like everyone else. No one on the Lineage II team abuses any GM privileges or advantages while playing.
I also try to show up as Mistryl from time to time if I know about an event and I can make it. :)

Nah, GM’s are like all us other computer geeks; work on them at work and play on them at home.
Yes but not reviewed unless there is an issue, it's easier to monitor a few gms logs than thousands of players who don't have GM powers to cause much trouble.
Mistryl, is their a policy or something keeping GM's from coming in game on GM chars on a regular basis?
I think it would be a great addition if GM's could pop into Giran on a regular basis, say hi, throw a rice cake or even nothing at all, and pop out ^_^
