I'd also like to say if a Necromancer tries to anchor and silence you, in that time if you are hitting for damage and aren't silenced or anchored, the necromancer is in a pretty bad position himself.
Sometimes it just ain't worth it to run into 600 range for the debuffs. Most Necromancers I find prefer to Gloom/damage from 900 range.

silence landed 3/3 times on my group earlier today, if he can't land silence or anchor then he's VERY unlucky. Silence doesnt even have a long cooldown time??? Any necro could tank that damage with cp pots and transfer pain. Personally i think necro's are just legal hacks, if they are against a fighter, anchor ftw, if they are against a mage, silence ftw. They can kill anything with a bit of luck (or skill ... if you want to call it that).

Got aadmit, 1v1 PvP I ALLWAYS gloom and dmg....
Mass PvP I try and hit out a few Anchors and Silences..
Some hit, some don't but it is never 100% hit rate. I would say 60% on a very good day ^^
