I had no lagging at all when I was two boxing (on the same computer) in vos with fulled screen of mobs but I am lagging a lot in forest of the dead, especially at near the beach (northern fotd).
any others has the same problem ? is it normally that some places are more laggy than the other ones regardless how many mobs are in your screen?
I lagged in the Beast Farm last night,
no cash on the floor, no mats on the floor - just the normal amount of mobs in the area. (no un-named players to be seen either). After trying Alt-P for a while i had a 90 second (yes NINETY SECONDS) lag and i died.
i dont mind dying if it is of my own doing or to a war tag, but lag really 923's me off.
On Hinde we get alot of people complaining about FoTD lagging them, mostly because of the adena laying around I am sure, but at the same time all those teleporting mobs may not help a whole lot. Your best bet is to run in minimum frame like they said, and choose a hunting spot with slightly less spawn rate so in case you get that lag hiccup you don't all of a sudden reappear dead.
In Ncsoft's defense I haven't had to many huge lag spikes in the last few months like I did in C1-2 where I'd be running along and black screen and come back up in a completely diffrent spot then intended.
Pick up all the adena fields.....the lag will go away. If someone attacks you or asks what you are doing, tll them you are delagging the server. That always works.
FoTD is filled with shadows and objects to a much greater extent than most areas...similar problems occurred in the angel waterfalls area in previous chronicles. It is simply fairly graphics intesive compared to open fields or hallways where most exp.
Where the game loads more data about the landscape, mobs, etc. from the hard drive. It does this on the fly (as we move) from area to area so that we don't have to port or load the next level, or something to get to the next area. This makes travel in the game "seamless".
