Im soon to be doing my second job change and I have spent a very long time reading over the skills and Im having an extremely hard time choosing what to do.
Is anyone able to offer up some advantages/disadvantages of both bladedancing and summoning cubics? I mean I see what the skills give you and how they work.. but what class will be better later on in the game, sieges, pvp, pvm ect -- and what is more fun, will I be stronger with duels or with a sword...
BD's are very wanted in just about every single party!
while SK is slightly more limited in their party useage. I like SK because they are a very capable Tank class. They are easily the best DD tank. but that Lack the HP of the other tanks, and get stuned easier.
I mean you really can't compare a SK to a BD, they are very different!
I'd say at 61+ that a SK could probably easily beat a BD if it's set up in the right gear. And BD is limited to only using Duals, while SK can use a sword + shield, or ditch the shield and pick up a two hander for more dmg.
There are so many things that depend on this. How often do you party, are you going to solo for the most part.
As for damage, both toons being self buffed I would say that the BD will offer more damge over time. Now, for 1vs 1 pvp self buffed the SK will probably win most of time, atleast in the later levels. The cubics are very good for solo play, but like everone says, the BD is the party pleaser. Another thing to think about is the cost of the class too.
A lvl 71 SK with Tallum and full DD tats and a +8 Bloody Orchid/Focus outdamages a Bladedancer of the same lvl with +6Kesh*Kesh in Majestic and full DD tats.
Both Equipped with 64 WC buffs rounded up with 71 SE buffs.
Tallum Heavy (+8% to atk speed), atk speed duals (kesh*kesh). Dance of fire, fury, warrior, and 58 PP buffs.
Vs a 61 SK with cubics and 58 PP buffs. SK has P df masteries (which BD lacks), shield, and cubics for extra dmg and life restore (vamp cubic) a hex cubic.
So the thing is, which will hit harder and atk faster, I'd think that BD would win in this case.
but it's possible that the SK can win because of the cubics. and more P df. and a shield to help block atks.
58 PP means that the SK has shield block, while the BD only gets GS, or wait Sk gets GS to. also if the SK uses Ud it's possible that he would win, specially if he pulls out a bow, as the BD backs away.

This is what I love about this game. Who wins isnt always determined by class, that is why i was using self buffed examples. It would be a great luxury to always have the best buffs available all the time. Anyhow, the classes are both good, ask yourself this, one sword or two?
Your level 40 dance will soon be clearly inferior to the WK buff - but yes, fury and warrior are still nice I suppose (although warrior is not all that big for archers). Still, a notable step down. ^^
