The real question, however, is will Lineage 3 allow character transfers or some kind of compensation for those who have spent the better half of the last decade playing Lineage 2.
i got a little suggestion for the creators of lineage 3 dont add game guard it obviously doesnt work lol take a look at lineage 2 if you want proof as in take a look at amount of bots/farmers saturating the game already

They did not allow transfers from Lineage 1 to 2, so I would seriously doubt they would do it from 2 to 3.
Besides, why woudl a new player want to come in and have to deal with pre-set politics, etc.
As for GameGuard, old issue, doubt much will change.
As for Lin3, I will say that most of the long term Lineage 2 players and certainly, some of the better posters here should be invited into closed Beta again. They did it for Lin2 from the Lin1 group and it seemed to help alot, but it did help to hasten the demise of Lin1. I know alot of clans left in mass at the start of Lin2.
Me, myself. I just don't know if I will move over or not. I have a lot of time invest here and because it takes me forever to level, starting over yet once again would suck big time. I think I would rather play till they pull the plug on the server here.
Course, now they make Lin 3 the bomb, that could be another story....

...GG was never intended to act as an 'Anti-Bot' program. It's solely an 'account/password' protection type program. That is to say, most Kr players don't play the game on computers they own but instead they play at PC 'cafes'. And GG is used as a layer of protection for both the game company as well as the player to prevent/reduce account/password stealing by hackers or unscrupulous cafe owners.
Hell, Kr even has OTP (One time Password) service, so that even if your 'professionally paranoid' about your login being stolen, you have an added level of security you can pay for. (OTP works by adding a additional 'one use only' password to your logon, that is sent directly to your cell phone when you want to login...once used, you have to request a new OTP to login again and a new random password is generated each time.)
The only place GG was ever said to be anti-bot was in the mind of the clueless PHB that did some PR when GG was enabled on the NA build of the game. (Because the Kr dev's can't/don't want to handle builds of the game that don't use GG.)
Well, hopefully by the time that Lineage 3 comes out, Lineage 2 will become sort of stale and the need for a new game and all that comes with it will be welcomed. After all, right now the high level characters are mostly all pvp players that have powerleveled themselves up in order to act out their politics. I don't mean this in a derogatory manner... just that all politics get boring after a while. Imagine a year from now when most of the population is in the 70s+ ... a new version where everyone starts from square one might be pretty interesting.
