I am currently using a B grade Kris dagger with the Focus SA. This WC is a boxed buffer for my Destroyer, but she also helps kill the mobs. The useage will be mostly PVE, mostly solo, with party hunts maybe once or twice per week. I tend to mostly play this pair in the Cats and any other places where there are multi-HP mobs - it's a natural environment for this combo. I suspect most people will answer dagger, but I don't want to assume this. I would normally assume in moving up a grade with a melee toon to get the weapon with a Focus SA. However, just looking over the list in the library, it looks like the Soul Separator also has some useful SAs. Any advice or information is appreciated.
I fail to see how a Flaming Dragon Skull will help him in pve ...
So my suggesetion would be to just upgrade that kris to a bloody orchid with focus :) Why? same reason you went Kris lol.
The soul seperator has more patk, but u can use soul cry to boost ur patk if u want, and the extra critical rate is much better then critical damage if u ask me, specially on a WC.
I never tried a meteor shower with focus, i doubt it'd be any good thought, being a blunt and all, not too mention stun is pretty useless in pve.
But if u wait till interlude there are a few other weapons that could work quite well, i think the new dagger will have focus, just like the 2h sword :)
Thanks for the suggestion, Spudnik. Can I ask what the logic is for the Flaming Dragon Skull? I don't see a lot of stats for it in the C5 Feature Notes; of course, I might just not know where to look. I'm mostly curious about using this over duals or a dagger. Meybe something to do with changes in Interlude?
Flaming Dragon Skull is recommended for PvP because it is a Mystic 1-handed Blunt with Acumen.
If you liked using the Kris/Focus, get a Bloody Orchid/Focus or just OE your Kris to keep the cost of shots down.
I'd say go with a p.atk weapon (blunt or other) just because it's a boxed WC that assists melee. You don't absolutely need acumen. but if you do, for buffing, just get that low C acumen sword, I can't remember the name - mysterious sword or something like that? And equip it just when you buff.
The Naga Storm will be an A Grade dagger in the tier just below Angel Slayer and above Soul Seperator (therefore two tiers above the current bloody orchid). It will have Focus SA available.
I don't remember the exact PAtk, but look over l2warefare and l2guru forums and you might find it.
if u are boxing your WC and don't have the time to toggle soul cry on and off I suggest an infernal master. 2h swords r a good balance of m atk and p atk. And if u arn't taking the time to toggle soul cry on and off its dps is higher.
However if u are toggling just countine w/ the dagger
if u arn't taking the time to toggle soul cry on and off its dps is higher.
Dunno about WC but for PP the crit rate, attack speed on dagger and mastery alone seems to outweigh the extra PAtk from using a 'normal' speed weapon.
but prophets as humans have some decently high dex. As an Orc mystic with the lowest possible accuracy in-game the extra crit rate and atk speed doesn't make up for the large amout of misses you get (unless you are talking 70+)
In addition the decent m atk of the 2h allows easy crowd controls and decent drains.
I'm going to have to weigh the advice about the 2 hander Infernal Master against the ability to use a shield with a dagger. I've only been boxing this combo for maybe 2 weeks now. But, I did use duals from from a clan-mate for a bit. What I have found so far, in most situations the aggro stays with the Destroyer most of the time. But, in room with, say, a nuker mob, and the WC in robes, if a nuker starts blasting the WC, that toon is very vulnerable without the shield. So, for those kinds of situations, the extra defense of the shield leaves me in a better position to intervene if the WC gets aggroed by a hard-hitting mob. My WC actually died from one of the Wisp mobs in the back of CoA when using the duals, and the situation was greatly improved with the shield and dagger. In fact, if the mob I'm working on with the Destroyer is lower than about 30% HP, I can usuually finish it off if I want before I turn on the mob that's targeting the WC, and the WC won't have taken too much damage, much less have come close to dying.
until interlude comes around shield doesnt block magic. your situation in COA improved because of the dagger speed/crit rate/crit power inherent in the dagger to begin with.
in interlude, magic will be blockable by shields... but not a minute before.
Hmmm, interesting. Well, something I overlooked, when I got the dagger and started using the shield, I also got some B grade jewelry. In any case, I might have misunderstood the exact reason for better handling of the nuker mobs. But, I'm still inclined to go with the Naga Storm dagger/shield for PvE. And I will remember the recommendation of the blunt for PvP.
