Alliance with Ketra Orcs - Level 2 questions

I'm working on getting level 2 in the Alliance with Ketra Orcs. The soldier badges are easy enough to get. The captain badges are another story. I went into the camp area and tried killing all of the non-grouped Varka mobs. After killing about 20 I got one Captain badge (from the Varka Silenos Warrior). I never got a drop of any type from Varka Silenos Hunter or Varka Silenos Priest and I got soldier badges from Varka Silenos Shamans. Then I misjudged and accidentally pulled the Chief group and cursed when Curse: Fear failed twice and I got killed. It seems like I can handle 2 mobs at once but 3 is tricky. Maybe with some practice I could do the Chief group. I probably should have tried to kill one of the three right away or slept the first one.

So, any suggestions on which mobs yield Captain badges? I still need 99  I would like to do this quest solo with SE buffs.

If it makes you feel better, you can solo for all the captain badges.

Apart from a small amount that I got from a group, I soloed most of them. You just have to find the area inside that has them spaced out.

It's a shame you are not on hindemith because I could show you. But I got them from several different types of mobs.

My tactic was to wake up on a Saturday morning, make coffee, put on good music and just be patient. :)
hunters are soliders.

the group mobs in the soliders yield caps but if u can't handle those...

from the port in spot go in, up the rampish thing, hang a right and there are a bunch of ungrouped caps. Prolly the easiest cap place w/o groups.

Yeah, that sounds right... go to the right and hug the wall, you will eventually see them.
Or make a group? That should be a good way to ge them right?

First time ever that I agree with you.

In principle forming a group would be the best solution. However, the Varka camp is not as good for XP or drops as other areas. So, I'm trying to finish the quest on my own and save groups for MoS or other better areas and not waste my friends time. Also, at the moment my schedule is erratic and I'm online for 1 to 2 hours at the most. This is simply not conducive for groups.

Group as in 3-4 people, come on, that is set up at random in like 5 minutes if you want.

Well, it's whatever he feels like doing.

I personally don't care about how people play. He likes to group? fine. He doesn't like to group? Fine.

However, as it seemed that he was in solo mode he should know that it is possible.

I know that at the start, I was going to get a group to help me with the whole quest (starting at the Hot springs). But as the xp wasn't great I didn't feel like wasting people's time. Sure, some would have liked it, but some woudn't have.

So I realized I could just do it myself and I did. Enjoyed myself (to the extent that I can enjoy L2 quests).

I am currently duoing with a SK to help him get his badges. That works really well too. It works even better now that I have Dark Vortex.
the place is gimp xp so its a bit hard convincing ppl to spend a few days there with you

im allied the other way so i cant really help you much but when i went and killed the orcs the trick was finding that one sweet spot where the mobs are dense enough so you do go crazy and sparse enough so you dont go dead

i soled it with only my WS and my se it and took forever and cost me more QHP and bsoe then i care to admit but it is posible
Thank you for this post.

I got my 200 Captain badges last night.

Duo with a SE. Took me 3 and a half hours. No deaths, no BSOE, decent exp.

yeah they made the place alot easier than it used to be
you can live with the xp there but if you think its good i could show you 7 other places that would make you wet your pants

gratz on lvl 2 man now you can start working towards lvl 5 :P

Thanks for the advice. I went up there and found Varka Silenos Warriors, Priests, and Mediums. All yield Captain badges. Got my 100 in about 2 hours. The only problem was when they respawn they tend to respawn in clumps.
Maybe my clan/friends are just different...but when somebody needs or wants help, it doesn't matter about the xp or drops. We all jump in, get the task done, and have fun doing it.

At any rate, congrats on getting all your badges.
