Have you ever driven a motorcycle ? That's the first question I ask a person that has never played L2.
The feeling is great. It's liberty, and you never can understand liberty until you lose it.
Even the choice of the ride is yours. In ancient times, they used horses, but experts could tell a better horse from another one, and horses were trained.
Some people spend their days working on their motorcycle, trying to make it the fastest and most powerfull machine. Often these people will like to race their motorcycles to determine the best rider.
Others will enjoy the ride on a s******, taking time to smell all flowers and enjoying every image of visiting new places.
And yet some others will like to ride as a group, because of common interests.
But whatever the kind of rider, you always love your ride. Of course, you have to pay for gas, but all good things come at a price.
You even have collectors, who not only ride but collect motorcycles, enjoying the ride on many kinds of bikes.
Your motorcycle ride depends on what you are looking for, and how good of a machine you have.
If Lineage II is a motorcycle then, in my experience, the other mmo's are cars.
For a long time I was a car person. I preferred the safety and popularity of my car. Sure, in 2004, I tried out the shiny new motorcycle. I even enjoyed it. But it was a little too dangerous for my tastes.
Interesting thing happened, though. Over the next couple of years I found I didn't enjoy my car so much. My car lost its ability to wow me. So, I got the motorcycle out from under the drop cloth and took it for another spin. Now I'm going cross country on it.
Yep exactly like motorcycle : you regularily pay for gas, but what makes the difference is how much you spend in the beginning...
Not everybody is starting with the default generic newbie motorcycle. Odd?
:/
DM, you really should sleep instead of making far-fetched comparisons. Quebecois are like Canada Dry. They sound like French but they aren't. :O

Lineage II is an amazing motorcycle.
It seems as if you have grasped exactly what I was going for in this post.
I have several motorcycles. When you're famous, motorcycles are like women, they are pretty easy to get.
What I enjoy the most is not the motorcycle itself (people get way too attached to their motorcycles), it is the ride that gives all the pleasure. Just like for computers or sex, it's not the size of the engine that counts but what you do with it.
I love to take long rides in places I have never been. Just as much as I love riding it in one spot round and round and round until I get dizzy, then I just change spots.
The motorcycle customization business is also very interesting, if you know about all the parts and the current prices.
All in all, those who can ride a motorcycle do. Teachers just sit around and talk about riding motorcycles on forums.
