I notice all server are basically Light... So where has everyone gone? I see rumors about this game. Anyone else seeing this??? I won't elaborate they will delete the thread, just wondering are other servers besides Lionna empty??
Then why have they gone from medium and heavy to light? and Giran is about half the people as before? I ran run through Giran with no lag anymore. Aden is scarce. Goddard is bare. Shuttgart never had anyone. and Rune well never really see much there.
I have noticed this as well. Been this way for past couple weeks. Seems like ever since there was a banning of what RustNC once referred to as "our robotic visitors". Getting parties has not been easy. Almost no one in the party matching system or waiting room.

What big clans lol?
What I would like is input from a GM... Are you guys tossing your hands inthe air on L2, to make room for T-Rahsa, Guild Wars, Aion??? Any comments? Mystral???
Doubt you'll get a GM response... but, seriously, part of it is the mass bannings of farmers, bots, and other unsavory types. Also, though this is speculation on my part, they recently upgraded the server hardware, which could result in a lower load on the server with as many or more players than it did before. That is to say, before the upgrade, 5000 was "Medium" and now, post-upgrade, 5000 players is only "Light" load.
As far as clans go, you mentioned Lionna, there are tonnes of clans of all kinds recruiting for academies and mains. The discerning clan-shopper can take their pick.
Well, I can't even buy the game in my town, and time cards are non exsistant. I ask several places, EB games, best buy, Fry's, Compusa, Gamestop if they will order them for me they said NO! Hehe the sad thing is I live in Austin and I drive past NCSoft to go to work everyday :(
on sieghardt... it's full... at higher levels that is, you can find people all over the place, and yes, being in a big clan/ally makes a hugh difference,

they dont have any ncsoft cards? not sure if you know or not but city of villians, city of heros, auto assault cards all work for l2, I have never actually even seen a L2 time card lol, always buy these ones cuz they work as well and they always have them, pretty much any ncsoft games time cards work for there other games as well.
yeah they have or had ones that said Lineage2. I didn't know that the others worked. Maybe NCSoft should do like Sony does and Put all games on the dang box so you can see it. Oh well praying for miricles from this company never seem to happen.
yeah, i was told by EBGames that the Lineage2 time cards are being discontinued...
so i asked here, and they(players, support) said you can use any ncsoft time card (Cov, Coh, etc)
although they should be pushing the interlude release and advertising that ... but players have been saying this for 3 chronicles now :)
Yes, people use the party matching system. Might be a little nicer if the GM's would boot the WTB/WTS shopes out of it. It's a very useful tool. Especially when you have people in your party that are at war. Party leader can just look at the waiting list to find replacements, without opening a room and getting your entire party ganked cause there's one person in it thats at war.
Since the last upgrade they added some nice features to it as well.
I don't think we should be alarmed yet. Near the end of a chronicle the servers always slow down a bit. Most probably when Interlude comes out we'll see a lot of old faces reactivating their accounts to see the new changes.
Not to mention the huge amount of bots that were banned lately, that's gotta help the server loads quite a lot.
TBC (The Burning Crusade) was, overall, pretty lack-luster. That's the WoW expansion for those that don't know.
Quite a few people that I knew in-game were sort of tired of WoW and it's no-consequences pvp and several are coming to (or coming back) to L2.
This game will never be the blockbuster in Western World that WoW is (pop-wise) but I *am* impressed to see that L2 is still going strong 2+ years since launch. With Expansions (and now Interludes) flowing regularly it seems like the game is still growing in scope nicely.
Anyway, if I'm back because TBC wasn't so hot then I think its safe to say I won't be the only one.
I don't think interlude will bring many back. From the nerfs to healers and dancers I think that they finally made to many people mad. Then the endless bugs, that since OB have not been fixed. Oh well. This game is nice looking compared to some but "lack-Luster" as someone says in Support. The last secruity breach. the non-responsive GM support, are or have run people off. There should have never been automated responses from gm's. I have NEVER talked to one in game.
But, Ther eare so many things this game could have brought the MMO world. OMG they should have made meaningful quests as soon as people complained the first time. Grinding 300 mobs for a worthless bit of exp, or some other worthless item is a bit harsh. I really wonder how many people really leveled thier toons to the levels they are without outside means. I know everyone leveled thier own toons... blah blah blah. Well those places are not making money from sitting on thier thumbs. So if everyone is leveling thier own toons why are thier still bots??

I petitioned something in WoW (gold seller spam) a while ago - I almost shed a tear when I got connected to a live GM. This is something that I'm not used to; I hardly knew how to react :p
Light status is probably a combination of a few things.
1.) Bannings
2.) New Games
3.) It is school time, and people may have less time. (This one I know lots of people are experiencing, including myself)
4.) It is right before the next large update, meaning it has been c5 for a long time so lots of people go do something else, I am sure you will see more when Interlude is released.
5.) You were secretly moved to another server without your knowing, because the GMs like to toy with your mind...
OMG they should have made meaningful quests as soon as people complained the first time.
/100% agreed.
But, to tell you the truth i dont really care if there's less people on the servers, for one because it surely means less bots, and because when you're in a good clan you dont really need that much people around :p
And if/when this game ever runs out of players, i'll just switch to Lineage III or Aion :D
Well, I'm new so at least there is one of us!! lol
Just started playing 5 days ago and I'm enjoying myself, but as has been mentioned, the starter towns are empty. Not that I mind tho, soloing to 20 has been easy enough and I'm now in a clan so hopefully my next 20 will be just as much fun.
Not to hijack, but with all this talk of recent bans, etc. I would like to know how to go about reporting an infraction you observe (or perceive to be an infraction). Do I petition? That doesn't sound right for reporting. What I perceive is that EVERY day at around 4:00 PM on Hindermith (sp?) server in the Orc Starting Village, a swarm of 50 or so dwarves (all with names like efghyst, ajuiyrhb, oisouugn, etc...just jumbled letters) suddenly appear all over town and run right to the sentinels to start whacking away at them (deleveling I suppose). This stinks of bot to me, so just want to make GMs aware of what I see.
Type /gm and hit enter to quickly start a petition, choose report a bad user -> use of 3rd party program, and type the names (or try ;)) of suspected bots (don't expect a proper reply. You'll get a canned response). Or you can email support.
