Only reason i use XP is because M$ has monopol on OS.
Oherwise i dont see a reason to buy every trash/untested/broken/full of wholes product they "invent".
Lol, believe it or not, I never got the bsod while using ME. My wife on the other hand...she could just act like she was moving toward the pc and it would show up.
i dont know people are hating on vista so much, it;s clean, solid and runs fine. I havn't had it crash or lock on me once. It is a bit restricting tho and i suppose thats the only thing i have found that i dont like so far. If you are having problems running software or drivers thats because it's the creator of the drivers/software's fault and they should release a patch to sort out their problems.
Tillus i talk to you when we (if billy) allow you in 5 years
anyone that use vista is a mindless drone sorry but i not gonna play their games in monopoly personaly think a LOT
of Corporations are getting sick of their monopoly to
what monopoly.. go get a Mac or pick one of the 83 flavors of Linux. There are even more choices than that, but no one uses them for some reason.. maybe because they suck?

->Direct X<- is their monopoly on the market M$ force programers to make their games Direct X instant of open GL
with open GL the Monopoly can easly be broken
For starters the lack of focus. We need everyone to direct their energy to one flavor of linux. Then we need the game developers to port the games for the system.

Windows Vista fully supports the open gl standard. The reason that most games are written in direct x rather than open gl, is that open gl used to be really hard to use and had performance problems. Where as direct x was very easy to use. Most programmers therefore used direct x and by the time that open gl was modified to have a better api it was too late as most people were used to direct x and did not want to have to switch to a new graphics library standard.
Older windows os's also support open gl as i believe that id software wrote quake 2 and 3 using open gl, not sure about doom 3.
I still have no luck with Windows XP 64bit, i get the same error message as before:
xp 64bit still crashes.
I've still got the same problem as before, "GameGuard has failed to initialise, please try again after rebooting".
the first time you launch you get the GG error, then you must launch the game again with the error on the screen.
Again, launch Lin II from the PTS Client icon, Lin II splash screen comes up, click start, wait for the two to three Windows error boxes to appear then launch the PTS Client again
same error as allways with xp 64 bit.
Using the PTS fix, I just get the Gameguard failed to initize error. Still I cannot get past that screen and get into game though.
windows XP x64 still crashes in full screen mode. (runs fine in window mode)
