Hi i am thinking about moving to hot springs to hunt in the next few lvls. I have some questions about this place:
-Are there buffs?
-Are mobs easy to kill for melee fighter with WC buffer
-Are the diseases bad enough that i need to taka a bath often. It would be best if i dont need to take bath at all.
Thanks in advance.
if i remember right and they moved the port point where i think they did....
just go over to the tent and kill the stuff there none of the mobs are agro and they are only communal with each other (bears assist bears, antilope assist antilope)
if you manage that ok start to wander up the hill but dont go in too far
get a feel for what is agro and what you can handle before you go too crazy in there but it is great xp
keep in mind 99% of the mobs there stun and it lands ALOT
ignore the buffs/debuffs they do basically nothing to melee either way and its just not worth removing them
The diseases aren't actually bad. There are nukers that go to hot springs just to get malaria (increase casting speed, lower mana consumption - but if you get too high levels of it, the casting speed bonus goes down, but mana consumption bonus increases). Cholera lowers your evasion but increases your accuracy.
the bottom part I did fine with WC buffs and another glad..just cause if one gets stunned the other can at least kill it.
The top part with alot of aggro we needed prophet buffs and a BD also. Not cause of damage output but the kill speed is worth it. and with dance of vamp heals were never needed. So we just kept the buffers out of party. At that point we were looking at kill speed rather than .01% cause at that level it was .o1 per mob anyway :P
FYI, I suspect L2 just has a lowest display of 0.01 % for XP gain calcs, and high-level players actually get something less than 0.01% gain per mob. I am guessing this from what some high-level players have told me. Also, if a high-level player is actually getting something like 0.003% or 0.004% per mob, for sake of arument, and L2 displays XP out to 0.01%, I don't think they want to round the numbers to 0.00%. I am curious if anybody can either confirm this, or explain how the XP calcs work at high levels.
L2 just has the display set to show the figure out to only the hundredths place mark (i.e. 0.01). The numbers DO go up a % every time you kill a mob (0.015..0.018...0.021...etc), it's just all behind the scenes at the higher levels.
it takes me 8 2x hp mobs to gain .01%
the actual % number is based off the number of xp needed to lvl
if you need 5 billion adena for a lvl obviously its gonna take a while to go up .01
Katastrophe, let me explain it this way. One player at level 75 told me he got 0.01% XP per mob kill, no matter what mob, or now many players in party. I always assumed he was going by what is displayed on the game, and that this info was skewed by the fact that the diplay is fixed format (xx.xx%). But, it sounds like other players see it displayed differently that what the one player told me.

I just love how you say that last line...come on use your common sense :p
well odds are he is killing mobs that give 12k xp .01%
and mobs which give 14k xp .01%
same thing that happened to me at that lvl when i hunted fod vampires, every 5 or so mobs he will get .02 (not factored in summon xp penalty)
