Are these all able to be purchased at NPC vendors? If so, does anyone have the location as to where they all are by chance?
brig top and bottom can be bought in giran

helmet is craft only and can be bought from players
(last time i checked helmet cost 1-3 mill)
You can do just fine without the helmet. But if you want extra HP and use a one-handed weapon, get Mithril set instead with a Hoplon. Much cheaper.
And you don't need brig gloves or brig boots to complete the set. It's cheaper to buy other boots and gloves.
Sieghardt's Brigandine Helmets go for 8M now

...
i just guess realy

havent played and/or checked market in months..
don't bother with brig, join an academy and get a set of clan oath heavy instead
and if your truly bent on the brig set, have a dwarf help you craft the helmet, you have to work to get the helmet parts you need, but it's way worth it compared to buying one off the market at the lunatic prices that exist. Have to agree with Mizrim though... for the short time you'll be d grade (if your clan doesn't suck) i'd just get the clan oath armor instead and save your adena for c grade equipment
By the time you can farm the mobs for the helmet parts, you'r close to 40 anyway. Might as well just save the adena, sell the parts you do get (you'll be lucky if you can get enough since top/near top D grade mats are no longer spoilable), and prep yourself for C grade.
You could always get the halfplate set!
No NPC sells it and its almost imposssible to get but.....
it looks alot better((I play an elf so you can see what I mean by this))
the P.Def makes up for more then the hp of the brigadine
but if you include the helmet of the brigadine its alittle cheaper if you can find people selling it((about a mil less))
I love this set of armor :D
wish i'd kept now all those brig helms i bought at 350 and resold for 500 way back in the day :)
Aye... Brig helms, on Erica, go for about 6-10mil. If you're lucky. I saw a +4 Brig Helm yesterday, in a private shop, going for 14million. But, that's from the same person who constantly sells +5 107's for 13mil. So, take it for what it's worth...
I bet that guy knows all the noobs who are really "lucky" with adena.
Brigandine Helmets are hard to craft as well.

Only 4 mobs and 1 raid boss DROP the parts. There are NO spoils.

And the drop rate on the parts is such that you are far more likely to reach C grade first than gather enough parts to make one helmet.

The drops on the raid boss aren't all that great either. You'd need to farm that boss fairly often to guarantee getting the parts and getting enough people of the appropriate level together to take the raid boss is not as easy or common as it could be.

Quite simply,

Don't bother with brig unless you already have it.

Clan Oath Heavy is almost as good and most servers will have a clan willing to sponsor you for the clan points.

If not, buy the Mithral Heavy set from the store and save yourself the trouble and a LOT of adena.

From 20-39 is a breeze and goes way too fast to bother with spending insane amounts on a helm to get the "best D-grade stats possible" when you can buy a full mithral heavy set for a fraction of the price and get all the bonus you need as a melee from 20-39.

Even better is that when you are done with your D grade kit, you can crystalize your mithral set and get most of your money back without having to wait. (D crystals sell like hotcakes as long as you aren't too greedy)
