Too many acronyms in the game?

Is it getting to the point where you feel like you need to take a masters about the game to play the game? And that's just the lingo. Yo man, WTB some SS and go LFG to XP in DN later? Well, that one is pretty clear but I've seen weirder ones where I can't tell what's what from what. What are some of the weird ones you have seen lately?
"lol DN cant pvp even a SWS without COV and DCL/K-F+12 and oop BB/CP/CC."

i read that once in ally chat and nearly died.

properly translated (took me a week) : "Dominator cant pvp a swordsinger without Chant of victory, and Drconic Light/Kris with forus +12 and out of party buff box, cp potions and CrowdControl."

it was a flame against the ally COV'er's skills in pvp.
What has really happened over the years is that L2 has developed a dialect, mostly based on English, tho not wholly. This is normal in cultural sub-groups like the military, law enforcement, the medical field, and so forth.

Part of the reason is also that it helps communication when we have players from many different languages. It also speeds communication since we have to type everything.

Any players out there going for a PhD in linguistics who need a dissertation topic?
That's just in-game shorthand; thank both the laziness of people and L2's extremely small maximum line length for that.

There's no point of using them in a different medium, like a forum post for example, of course.
Last time I tried to run L2 on my x2 AMD I got BSOD because of Kerio PF.
I work for large IT company, we have lots of PIMS, SEs, use IE or FF to connect to remote DB, and use helluva of acronyms too.
It's professional deformation :(
If you are lvling in disciples and you dont know the lingo, I think you know where this is going. Really, how hard is it to understand stuff like that in a game that you have supposedly been playing for the last 70+ lvls? The only time I can see a problem is when a big update comes and they add new places. Even then it shouldnt be hard to know what they are talking about after a week or so.

Nope, sometimes it's that people are just too lazy.

"ES, ST, WL, SS LFG ..."

Eva's Saint or Elemental Summoner? Soultaker or Shillien Templar or even Saggitarius? Warlock or Warlord? Storm Screamer, Spellsinger, Shillien Saint or Swordsinger?

Of course, there's also the "PK LFG" I see in ally chat now and then. Makes me giggle every time. ;)
Warlock is not WL but WK, SS is generally abbreviated with the middle letter intact (i.e. SwS, SpS), and if the third classers weren't stupid, they'd do the same (EvSt, ShSt, Sag, etc.).

That's one big "if" there.

And I see "WL" for "Warlock" (as well as "Warlord") more often than I see "WK" ...
Consequently use WK, and the people around you will pick it up. People like abbreviations that don't have two meanings. There are few enough WKs to teach them. :p
lets remove the chatbox and force ppl to use TS/vent instead :p
do you actually every post something constructive?
like they do in DDO, then you find out just how many annoying 8 year olds there actualy ARE :p
