According to Anderson Consulting*Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers.* Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.
I read the first one and was thinking hmmmm giraffe steaks (you know with the Homer Simpson hmmmm and drool) and how little I would need to put into the refrigerator.
Then I read the answer......bah question was designed for hippie vegetarians.
As for the elephant well I got a laugh on that answer.
I got the third one right.
As for the fourth I thought there were crocodiles in Africa not Alligators. I figured I would take Bubba with me and let him wrestle the alligators while I swam across. You know alligator suppose to taste pretty good too. Hmmmmm onry alligator with all them teeth and no toothbrush!!! :D
Oh gosh Im a meanie >< (but I didnt intend to be one)
I read this to my little brother who just got his wisdom teeth pulled out 2 days ago.... suffice to say he was laughing his *** off and almost rolling on the floor, but in great pain......
Last thing he told me : "Im going to go take my codeine pills now" :(
I know it's just for fun but i'm gonna rant about this test because people always think it's hilarious to show this to scientists (who usually get them wrong). See, this quiz rewards un-justified assumptions and penalizes you for trying to think logically.
1. no problem with this question, there's no constraints on the refrigerator or the state of the giraffe.
2. First problem, we have no knowledge that it's the same fridge. The problem is vague and doesn't make the specification so there's no justifiable way to make the assumption that you're using the same fridge or that is part of a scenario.
3. Once again the problem assumes we are in a continuous scenario but does not make it an explicit statement. Given the non-sequiter nature of the question there is not even an impication of continuity. Even if we are assuming series of events within a scenario we have no time scale so the meeting could be at ANY time. By the problems logic you could just as easily say the giraffe was the animal in the fridge at the time because it is ambiguous.
4. Same issue as the last problem, additionally the "reason" for the question is to make you learn from your mistakes. That is, it wants you to learn to make illogical deductions and use them as the basis for working a problem. Last i checked that was a bad premise to use in any situation.

I was thinking the exact same thing, except you said it much better than I could think of. I think the title of the thread should be " A test of the Imagination". I think I'll change it for ya ;)
Well i got 1 question correct but not for the reason they listed.. thought the elephant would not go to the confrence because they never forget... well with a 25% on that test i guess i failed and cant be a professional good thing i joined the military... :p
I've heared that test before so i answered 4/4 corectly X)
Anyways, heres another question that would fit in to this topic... although its better if you ask it someone in person, not by reading it.
Maria's Father has five daughters. The name of the first daughter is Chacha, the name of the second one is Checha, the 3rd's is Chicha and the 4th's is Chocha.
Question is: What is the name of the 5th daughter?
(\_/)
(O.o)
(``)(`)
Answer is Maria, but most of the people should say Chucha or somthing like that.

Military doesn't take idiots, so you have to be somewhat smart. If you were stupid, they'd have kicked you out before you officially joined ;) I know, I just joined about 5 months ago...wouldn't take me unless I was smart enough to pass the ASVAB...NO DROPOUTS!
Yah but asvab is about the easiest standardized test out there (which of these is a "phillip"'s screw-driver).
Of course the ASVAB is pretty easy. It is a test to figure out what your better at. When I took it 12 years or so ago I had the highest score in the region and had every recruiter slobbering over me. I was offered everything from being a wrench monkey to a Navy SEAL. You would be surprised though how many people do poorly on it. I know I see their service records when they have to go to mast.
Nice thing about the military is we can take people with a limited educational background and teach them what they need to know. Not only that we give them many opportunities to educate themselves further for free! When they decide to get out they have the much needed experience most employers are looking for (and I am not talking about McDonalds.)
I have a teaser for you......
Next time you see a torpedo either in a museum, historical marker, or a base that is on a stick ask yourself what famous ship did that torpedo sink?
Answer......None its on a stick!
ha ha ha
How many stones did it take to finish the White House?
One
Ha ha ha
I need you to fill out a ID 10 T form for me asap.
3. Once again the problem assumes we are in a continuous scenario but does not make it an explicit statement. Not to mention that there are in fact multiple alligators capable of attending, but only one elephant. This test fails at being witty.
my answers:
1. get a bigger refridgerator.
2. get a bigger refridgerator.
3. the refridgerator doesnt attend. (forgot about the elephant though, doh)
4. put yourself in the refridgerator and float across.
@physics4ever: anytime someone says "dont scroll down until..." you should assume continuity.
but the answer at the bottom is the answer to the question at the top, not just some random answer to some other question. i think AngraManyu's answers were the best, chain saw ftw.
edit: unless! a chick is saying this to you. in which case you should try your best to make eye contact, scrolling down too early is just rude.
