As you may or may not have noticed, there's a post from me a day or two ago, asking everyone their view of the choice between an Elven Oracle, or an Elven Wizard.

I've decided on becoming an Elven Oracle, and, as such, can use a bit of advice.

What kind of equipment should I be going for, during D grade?

I've got a spare set of Duals (107's), and a spare +3 BoneBreaker, which is easily transmutable via the Blacksmith of Mammon, to something else. I've also got a +3 Mithril Top, and a +3 Mithril Bottom, in my Warehouse.

Should I go for the Elven Mithril set, as a healer, or is there something more valuable to healers that I should go for?

Also, what stats are important (and which aren't) to healers?

Do heals scale to match the "M.Atk" of weapons?

Sorry for all the questions, but I've never been interested in a healer before, so I've never really put any thought into any of this.

If you've had enough patience to read this whole post, bless you.

Thanks in advance, for anything anyone can tell me on these subjects. I appreciate it. :D
Heals scale on m.atk A LITTLE BIT.
for example, with empower 1 you'll heal for maybe 6 HP more than without empower. You can neglect the m.atk when it comes to heals.

If you want to solo (pointless imho but it's another story) then your duals should be good, and a light armor set could help against tough mobs.
If you want to nuke undeads, convert your bonebreaker to a staff of life. Knowledge set would be good for m.atk if you can get the gloves. Sage rags would be good for mp if you can get it.

If you want to play a healer, and heal people, then a good robe will be nice for the MP needed when buffing/healing a medium/large party. A light armor is good too if you play in duo/trio, so you won't be afraid of tanking a few hits if your party isn't good at keeping the aggro.
For the weapon, either duals to participate in the melee DD, or the SoL to help with crowd control (root) or help killing if mobs are undead.
If you only heal/buf and don't need to melee/nuke/root, then you can even run with no weapon at all :)
M.atk isn't important for heals, it makes a small difference. Blessed spiritshots makes a big difference.
If you're going to be acting as a healer, elven mithril is good. If you feel your casting speed is good enough without the full set, consider Sage's rag for more mana (or if you can't afford elven mithril gloves).

That seems worth it. ¬_¬

I've never even thought about wearing light armor. It's not a terrible idea, though, as long as I don't plan on casting anything.

I suppose I'll be selling that Mithril Set, then, eh? :P

I plan on doing whatever I can, to be in a party at all times. But, I'm not sure how well that's going to work. My server, Erica, is extremely lacking in the 20-35 area, it seems.

Are Sage's Rags available from vendors?
nope Sages Rags aren't - they are drop or craft.

Find a nice clan that has an academy. Clan oath robes give +5% cast speed, look great and are cheap (or in the right clan - free)
EM set (if you can find cheap gloves), 107s for meleeing, and convert your Bonebreaker to SoL for nuking your way to 25+ and to crowd control in groups after that (your Root lands better with it, your Sleep is not completely useless too).

Don't go for light armor; you won't run out of MP meleeing in robes, and higher healspeed, rootspeed and runspeed (EM set) are better than slightly higher PDef in cases of emergency.
Yeah thats what I was about to say, find a nice clan, get Clan oath armor if you cant afford the elven mithril robe set (1.5 mil, varies from server to server). Clan Oath robe set is cheap, you get all the parts (boots, helm, gloves, armor.... ) and an increase in casting speed is always good. Oh and as mentioned before, some clans will give it to you for free considering you will be giving them clan rep points when you graduate from the academy.

I would NOT suggest light armor for D grade. Not ever from lvl 20-40. You will need your casting speed because your heals are already very very slow.

As for weapon it depends what you want to do. If you want to solo, your better off converting your weapon to a Staff of Life. If you want to join small groups/duo just stick with your duals, and wack away at the mobs.

Worked fine for me, was in a duo with a warrior form 20-45. Me in my elven mithril set and 107's.

I didn't say mithril was bad. It's the best D grade robe for a healing healer. (as opposed to a nuking healer).
As a healer lvl 20+ you can learn light armor mastery, you'll cast just a little slower than in robe.
I liked my Shillien Oracle in manticore (light) and cursed maingauche. It wasn't good for a full party if I was the only SO because it takes ages for a DE to buf, and 1 age more in light. But it was good to be an additional DD in small partys, and he was nearly invincible in arena against another D grade.
Light isn't that bad! :)

Back to the topic, finding a good clan sounds like the best, fastest and cheapest way.
