Between Wasmisth and Bounty Hunter?
They basially have exactly the same attack skills ( well more like lack of the same attack skills). They have almost no skills except stun....
Bounty Hunter is probably funner to level since at least you get to spoil the mobs.
If this is your first toon, and your looking to create a dwarf, you have along road ahead of you.
Nukers and daggers are real easy to level.
Healers are not gear dependent so you dont have to worry about having top gear.
The most important hing is too choose a class you will LOVE playing. A dwarf has a mediocre damage output, no skills, but you might love the fact that your getting mats off the mobs and that alone makes it worthwhile. I know someone who loves playing a dwarf.
It really depends on your playstyle. If you can answer the following questions, Im sure we can help you out.
Do you like playing in groups?
Do you want to solo all the time?
Do you want to be able to solo and play in groups when you want?
Whats more appealing to you?
Long ranged attack toons ( archer or magic)
Support classes (healer buffer)
Support/fighter hybrid
Melee classes that do alot of damage
Summoner
Tank
In my opinion, if your interested in long distance casting a Spell Howler is probably the easiest nuker class to level that I have tried. Unfortunatly, you will probably end up soloing or in a duo with a Shilien Elder throughout the entire game. Nukers in general arnt much needed in parties and besides, you will level much faster with a Shilien Elder duo.

Long ranged attack toons using Magic, or

Warsmith or Bounty hunter is a great way to learn this game and you will have a useful toon even if you choose to move to something else later.
You will learn Polearm tactics, crafting (warsmith), and be pretty hard to kill all the way up.
Never mind you will have a nice chunk of money due to crafting or spoiling.
If you get to 4x and decide to go to another class, keep the warsmith to crystalize and low-level craft if nothing else.
The easiest class is likely Destroyer...
Spellhowler is ok too, just don't pick Spellsinger or Sorceror unless you like sitting/standing around forever or have a 2nd box recharger.
(Spellsinger is 2 minutes of killing and 8-10 minutes of standing around at higher levels...)
If I was going to do it all over again, I'd play Warsmith first.
Here is a post from another guy, Ill just post it here , its from the other thread
Some nukers are okay... but for a newbie?
Not until you figure out how to keep the mobs away from you.
Frankly, melee is MUCH easier because you will die a LOT less. The easiest melee to play at a proficient level is probably destroyer(orc warrior). (Walk up, smack it down, no worries about dying unless a small army shows up...) Knights are also pretty easy, but their damage output is less than stellar.
Spellhowler (Dark elf nuker) is fine, but you have to be able to keep yourself from getting beat on. (not always easy for those not familiar with the game)
Do NOT play Spellsinger (light elf nuker) or Sorceror (human nuker) unless you like sitting/standing around or have a 2nd-box recharger.
Wanna be useful and get in as many parties as absolutely possible? Bladedancer is the class. You are squishier then most plate classes, but stil pretty tough and you dish very nice damage self-buffed. Don't expect to be a PvP god until much later however...
Warlock and Warcrier are also quite excellent but take more time to get proficient at. (If you are a veteran of other games, these are doable.)
If you want to be unbeatable at PvP... archer.
(you won't win every encounter, but you can't really lose either due to being able to run away)
Archer is also pretty simple for XPing, its just expensive.
Note, playing an archer will make you one in a sea of archers... I can't hit a mob without hitting 4-5 archers on the downswing.
If your looking for a Nuker then stick to the Spell Howler. You just have to learn to play the class right. Stick to mobs you can 1 shot ot 2 shot, and make sure your hunting mobs that arnt crazy fast.
Support classes (healers) you will have alot of down time. Most healers end up sitting on their behinds to regen mana for a good part of the game. Shilien elders and elven elders are healer/buffer hybrids that can give some of their mana ot other players. They can be very boring to play sometimes. Bishops are pure healers but you can get groups where you have do to alot. Sometimes you have to do nothing. Its a class that if you dont pay attention, people can start dying. Prophets are pure buffers, warcryers are buffers to , but they are probably more wanted latter in game.
im a dwarf i would say most if not all of these ppl are not
dont play a dwarf
if you want a mage go Sh nice class for a first timer since its easy to solo and cheap
you wanna plan ahead for pvp go necromancer, bit more expensive and harder at lower lvls but very good class
you wanna do melee go destroyer (or second choice tyrant)
it will take a while for NCsoft to realize they are broken and by that time all the current overpowered classes should be nerfed so you get to be FOTM for a while
all daggers currently a good option
archers currently the best class
Dwarfs are fun to play. the bounty hunter is probably the funnest of the two. spoiling is so much fun and so is fake death. The Warsmith is probably a better PvPer because of the golems.
sure they arent obvious easy skills. the dwarf can't do as much damage as other toons. but with the extra cash, and your ability to carry a ton of stuff, you can take more damage than anyone else before having to soe.
As a dwarf, you have to use ALL of your skills. Dwarfs have the more hp, and the most ability to carry stuff in the game. By using a polearm, you can kill just as fast as others kill one at a time. and its cheaper.
If you have to do any sort of PvP. carry healing pots, greater healing pots, elixers and greater cp pots. carry a pole, a blunt, and if you can afford it a bow. if i know im going to do pvp i bring 1500 greater cp pots. better pack a lunch too.
destroyer is a really fun class to play, people that play tyrants tell me those are fun too. they can be really boring pre-20s, because of the run speed, but if you play an few elfs for a bit, and pool the money from the quests, you should be able to afford a d grade weapon. powerstrike will hit mobs 100% of the time regardless of the grade, same with the powerpunch or whatever its called. cycle between the two skills and you can be level 20 really fast.
Yes, Orc Fighters are fun to play. And Dwarves solo are slow to level. However, if you box or play often with healer/buffers, you can pole a lot, in which case you should level fairly quick. Just please don't come pulling big trains through other people's rooms in the cats, if you go this route.

Try a bit of every class to lvl 10-15 and then decide.
Just know that all fighters below 20 will be similar (orcs a bit different, and dwarves less skills). And mages (human/elf/DE) are very similar too, orcs will be very different.
Try at least a fighter and a mage, on fighters try the different skills (bow, dagger, sword) and if possible try a party or 2.
Don't listen to the ppl "how to lvl up to 75 in 2 weeks".
As a WS main, I suggest against any newcomer playing a dwarf. It takes a special player to play a dwarf. By special, I mean suicidal and crazy. Dwarves are by far the hardest class to level from 1 to 80. We have no real offensive skills, and our economic advantage bas been broken by illegit players.
If, however, you do decide that playing a dwarf is what you want. Be prepared for a long and arduous journey. At later levels, you will have advantages that other classes do not have. most important being the ability to carry everything you cuold possibly use to level or pvp with. And not just for a few buff rounds. I carry enough shots and potions that I can level effectively for two to three days in one spot without having to make a run to town.
If you plan a dwarf, and wish to PvP, I would suggest a WS over a BH. While it will take longer to level, you have the advantage of getting golems. My golem has over 1200 patk, a melee ranged attack and a close range attack. In small scale PvP, both dwarves have the advantage of being able to carry extraordinary amounts of gear. I regularly carry three armor sets, and 5-10 weapons. you will need a bow, a good blunt, and a good polearm. After that, I suggest blunts with good SA's on them, such as Bless the Body, Mental Aegis, and Regeneration. Other good blunt SA's are Silence, Paralyze, and Hold. You can also get other sa's like: Shield, Poison, Weakness, Chaos, and Focus, but not generally until later levels. If you manage to acquire all these weapons, you will be running around with 14 different weapons. You will need a lot of skill to be able to switch them all effectively and use them at the right moment. Not only that, but I can carry 20k shots for me, 20k for my pet, 5k ghp, 5k reg heal pots, 1500 greater cp pots, 500 cp pots, and various other items, and I'm not usually overweight either.
Anyways, just my two cents. Again, first-timers should be very wary of playing a dwarf until they know the mechanics of L2 fully, and understand that they will have a long road before them.
it should be noted that destroyers have basically every skill a dwarf has except craft, spoil and golems (all of which the dwarf community is unimpressed with)
at the same time they have about a billion actual good skills
dont listen to the non-dorfs saying play what you like
you will thank me later
bounty hunters are easier to start off with if you insist on a dwarf character, the spoils support you better financially and for me, everytime I spoil something I have a little celebration in my mind :P
warsmiths are great money earners... if you're high level :O you missed the earlier chronicles where warsmiths were needed for crafting even the lower grade items, but nowadays many people have warsmith alts to craft stuff, so along with the low demand you'll be stuck struggling to level up to a respectable level (60+)
yeah tbh you cant go wrong lvling a BH to 40
just try and steer clear of nine man parties who will drain all you spoils and dont play it as a main ><
There really is no better place to spend your "1st-character" benefits.
You mean the newbie rewards? Well, now every character under level 25 gets those. So, making a dorf first or last won't matter in terms of getting the newbie buffs.
For a first character I would recommend Spell Howler, like others have mentioned. Lots of damage and you don't require arrows, plus this is one of the most soloable classes which is good for a new player since it may be hard to find some decent groups for a while.
Between the Bounty Hunter and the Warsmith, there is actually loads of difference.
I will start with the Bounty Hunter. You will get more groups because people want spoils. Neither dwarf gives high damage output, and most people won't find you beneficial to a party, unless you are using a pole arm and/or have the spoil skill. But remember, you will only get groups in areas that are groupable and spoil good drops, of course unless you just have friends that will party with you no matter what.
Money wise, you have to level to make your money. Compared to someone that learns the manor system, spoiling isn't really worth it. Combining manor system and the spoil system will make you some good money though, but don't expect to be rich, instead just expect yourself to be able to equip yourself with gear for your level sooner than other 'legit' players that aren't in large clans. Spoils at high levels though can make you billions of adena once you can start spoiling A grade and S grade recipes, especially the helm and drac recs. But that really starts around level 65 and gets better once you are about 75.
The Warsmith on the other hand will most likely get less groups, unless you offer catacomb AoE groups to some people that are interested. If you find a live Shillen Elder, you are pretty much set. Because he/she will need help leveling and you are a great source of it, and the SE will make it possible for you to pull trains. I guess this is both true for the BH and the WS.
Warsmiths in my opinion can make lots of money too once they start crafting A grade shots. Shots before then make you a little, but it seems A grade shots have some of the highest inflation...meaning more profit to you. You can make money AFK, which is nice. So if you don't have tons of time to play, this may be a good option for you, because you can sit in town and sell stuff that you crafted, or just set up a craft shop for ppl to craft their own things.
I think the best part of a warsmith, and so do most that play them that I have talked to, is the sieges and summoning golums.
As a first character, a dwarf will be more difficult than some. But if you want to play it do it. I actually really liked playing my dwarf till about level 20, and then I just didn't find it to fun anymore, but that is just my preference.
Which kind of fighting is good for dwarves? (Obviously Melee) But like... which class do you think is more fun?
people who play warsmiths get "fun" from crafting items for clannies, they pride themselves on items that they use, which they crafted from their own efforts, right down to the last stem. bounty hunters have "fun" when a mob turns blue, and they get cool extra items from it. a spell howler has "fun" doing a lot of damage very fast (and unlike other nukers doesnt need 3 other people in party to keep doing damage). other melee classes (gladiator, tyrant, destroyer) have "fun" going toe-to-toe with mobs, archers and daggers have "fun" killing other people efficiently. and healers/buffers/summoners have fun doing . . . whatever it is they do.
I think KingdomForCoin makes a very good point. Also, many players do operate a dwarf alt as a way to help cope with the economy in L2. I am not one of them, but there are plenty of people who do that. (I also know people who don't seem to manage a dwarf alt that well, they seem to be constantly begging for mats, or begging for people to go party with so they can spoil.)
Every single honest player I know who runs around with nice overenchanted weapons and has money to try these things plays a dorf to some degree.
I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of successful and legitimate players have at least one dorf.
Getting overenchanted weapons and having dorfs doesnt have to have anything to do with eachother, anyone can play the market and today that is (if you're effective at it) a MUCH better way of earning money than keeping a dorf in town.
People just tend to favorize dorfs cause they used to have more inventory slots to sell stuff with, 4 slots instead of 3. Which still is true initially... but now that can be changed with fishing though people are too lazy to do that so its simpler to make a dorf for buy/sell shops and have that extra slot and not having to bother with anything.
Playing a dorf to some degree is very very different from playing it as a main. I dont just mean expwise but in every single aspect of the game you can find, one who doesnt play a dorf mainclass does never get the same understanding about dorfs as one that does.
People who got these dorfs (played to some degree) often laugh at me when i say this and looking in their selling inventory with all the expensive high end gear and somehow fail to realize that those gears have been achieved by playing the market which they could have done on any other toon just as successfully if they wished. Not through the intitially intended 'dorfy' way of earning money.. a common mistake today

Oh yeah, and dwarf class change quests SUCK!
wow that is so C2 lol
for starters i dont play a BH so for all i know its the best class in game, but i can say for sure you wont be spoiling any S grade recipies any time soon (only questable)
if you want spoils all you need to do is shout with your overpowered toon !LF BH. it will be about 20 minuets when you decide the slight money you gain from haveing it in party isnt makeing up for the tons of xp you are loseing
dwarves are the worst pole class in game
noone uses siege golems anymore
WS has the worst summons in game
WS is the most expensive class to lvl solo (anything more expensive doesnt need to solo)
you can craft any item in game for a fraction of the cost of registering the recipie
the profits recived from crafting any shots are on my server are less than what you would make in the same amount of time if you manored
all other DD classes manor better than a dwarf
and finally, dwarves have the lowest breath gage and fall distance of any class
might not seem too important but when the game company goes that far to make sure dwarves are the worst at every single thing in game you can tell they wont be adding any boosts any time soon
Truly for starting out on first toon?
Orc destroyer--though your run speed is gonna have you eating a sandwich and gaining wait while you play. Still overall best, first melee choice.
I will say this: I started a human to go knight--DA. For some reason after about 8 days that toon wouldn't load. I had to start a second (picked a dwarf) and it played with no problem. Eventually (still in C2) I sent a support request and the knight was back in game for me.
I will always appreciate the need for manuever and thinking in melee situations that both of those toons caused me to learn.
I can't count the new melee players I've partied with who blunder around making mistakes at lvl 52--time and again--and STILL can't figure out how to peel off the mobs they intend to take. Every venture into a hunting area with one of them is an ADventure....which gets unfunny in DragonValley Cave, etc!
I would tend to argue you can 'learn' from lots of the toon types/races.
My opinion--simply saying "fastest to 20 with substandard gear"........
Melee:
orc fighter
dark elf fighter
then they are all about the same...dwarf, probably human 4th, light elf...maybe I'd even put human last.
That doesn't mean imo one is 'better' or 'worse'.
As I said, I learned a lot about being a better tank playing toons with average patk and crappy gear at low levels where they could be killed.
To OP--keep in mind, MANY of the trolls here only have experience leveling 'twinked' toons. That is, they have enough adena to EASILY put their lvl 1 toon in top No Grade stuff--they get to lvl 10 in 30 minutes.
With the stuff you'll use it will take 3x that long. THAT'S when class differences matter.
Put any toon in top NG and lvl 1-20 is a blur. You probably won't have that opportunity. It's at least 250k (player sold) for a top NG weapon.. shop sold are more. It will take you 20-22 levels to make an extra 400k of adena or so (unless you learn to manor which I HIGHLY recommend--it works GREAT on low level toons hunting in starter locations).
Use the newbie buffs, use the free soul/spirit shots, run the quests, hunt green mobs and for the love of the Almighty pay attention and LEARN while you're playing (lmao)!
I agree ,
playing a dwarf as first char is hard
My first char till C2 was a prophet... then the clan
needed a warsmith
At my level 20 of the warsmith, ...the clan died...
But , i was so in love with my new warsmith and my Ex-bf always needed my prophet and
so i couldnt move her no more
so continued on my WS, now a Maestro, pretty proud of her too
But it was hell to level her, nervous break downs , nights of tears...for real!! hell!!
Certainly after they nerfed the only
good thing we did have...Big Boom and AOE
Golem sux, oh yea , golem is pretty strong okay, good pdef
and good HP, except, if u cant heal it and u cant tank for
u'r golem either really too, cuz that golem has passive hate
and it hits harder then you, so u cant tank for it, and in pvp
Golem is so easy to erase, more easy to erase then other summons...
So if u go warsmith, i hope u have a strong heart and will
cuz 76 levels are long to get...
think long term...
