My girlfriend will be starting soon, and we're not sure what she'll be, she wants to be able to duo with me (so I will PL her fast), so what matches well with me? I have SwS/HK, and the HK will become a DA, the SwS is my main, but may switch, she wants to be an Elf mainly but doesn't mind a DE, so what class suggestions go well?
She doesn't mind mage or DD/tank, I'm at a loss here, so any help is appreciated.
SwS+BD is not a poor combo at all, they benefit from each others songs/dances very much, hunter+fire is great. Add in earth+warrior+fury and both the SwS and the BD have reasonable pdef and damage (relative to most duo's).
Like all duos of fighters this duo needs a buffer (to be a trio lol), a third account with an SE or making friends with a live SE/PP would help your leveling speed a lot. Focus+Death Whisper+Hunter+Fire is when SwS+BD really start to hurt, VR keeps you killing without spamming hp pots. Interlude is nerfing Death whisper and Dance of Fire though I don't know how much this nerf will change things.
An archer or dagger with a SwS is also a great duo; a LE dagger or archer would be great but so would a DE or human. :D Probably a bit more damage with a DE or human but LEs self buff ww if you do not have a buffer.
BD+SwS isnt a bad combo but its not going to work very well between 60 and 74. the upside is that you can add any other person to your party, buffer, healer, tank, warrior or dd, and you will tear apart pretty much anything in that level range.
PS: not to mention that if you are in the same room, learning the 3 1 3 thing becomes remarkably easier.
I must admit that during all my experience with a SwS+BD duo we had an oop SE. :o
I assume no fighter duo works very well 60+ (BD gets better at 74 again but do any of the other fighters?), does a SR/PW duo any better than a BD? The BD helps the SwS do more damage counter acting doing less damage than a dagger/archer themselves. A BD can take hits a bit better so when the SwS loses agro they do not need to get it back, chase after the mob, or arrest it (after 58).
Just DON'T let her play cleric class (Shillien elder, Prophet, Bishop, Elven Elder), beside orcs: she will get bored, suffer and reroll (better case) or leave game (worse case).
You'll end up boxing third common account anyway LOL :p
