I'm playing a lvl 47 glad and running around in +4 brig and dual stormbringers.
I'm told full plate is the way to go. The trouble is even the main armour without the helm, boots and gloves is 5m + and added, is even more.
Whats the best way to get hold of this armour. I'm not very wealthy and could spend time scraping all my chars' bank balances together and grind a lot to get somewhere near the price. Frankly, by the time I'm ready to wear the Full plate, I'm likely to have a B grade Glad on my hands.
Whats the best course of action ?
I play solo and tow a 32 SO around. I also have a 40 Warsmith and various noob chars.
I have been in Ivory Tower crater and made money on spell books, now I'm enjoying the sea of spores, Orfen aside.
I'm on Hinde.
Any suggestions welcom.
Get Composite, P Def almost the same, and the extra HP from Full Plate is more of a luxury problem then a real need, you are not a Dark Elf, so you have the CON to take a hit.
Composite can be bought in luxury shop, helmet...well you have to look around for that, but normally some people should still have one laying around.
I went comp on my dwarf because it was much cheaper and looked better.
But FP is expensive because the places the parts drop or spoil are not so great, I believe Cruma is one of those places.. I'd have to double check though.

Gauntlets in GC entrance (spoil), helmet and shield in Patriots (drop), I don't even think I ever had full plate temper in drop or spoil.
We all have the same issues. What many players do is grind hard and level as fast as they can (and in this game, even that is a long process). However, the hard-grinder soon discovers an inability to keep up gear-wise with their leveling.
With a few exceptions, you'll find that you do 1 of 2 things when grinding: Grinding for XP OR Grinding for wealth. It is very rare that one can accomplish both simultaneously.
Using shots? You are XPing at the cost of your ability to gear yourself. Killing white and yellow mobs? You are out XPing your adena gains. Fine if you have extra adena. Not if you are in need of it.
2 tips:
1) Slow down on the XP grind. Find some green mobs that you can take down without using shots. Keep your SO in party. She'll gain levels and give you better heals to cut your pot costs, plus you'll get better buffs to help offset the lack of shots. You'll get less xp due to sharing and you'll gain more adena per xp than you are currently. You WILL XP more slowly. That's the cost of gaining wealth, just like anything, it requires a sacrifice elsewhere for the gain there.
2) Use the manor system. You can visit our website at http://www.arktic.net and check out Seeding 101 in the knowledge base to see how this works. It WILL slow down your XP. But you'll make coin if you put efort into it.
FP helm parts spoil pretty well from the baby cats in frozen labry (and the mama cast spoil EWB). By 'pretty well' I mean about one part every seven or eight groups.
The Elder Watchers there also drop FP Helms, rare of course.

Full plate tempers spoil in cemantary from soul of ruins.
Boot parts spoil in Dragon vally from drakes well.
Glove parts spoil in giants cave first room its the round mob i think.
Helmet parts dont know you can also get him with te coin quest.
I use duals so lose Brig shield set bonus but gain 153hp and 5% P.def. My gaiters and top are +4 so my overall P.def is 460. If I remove the gaiters and top I go down to 232. The Comp is 224 p.def. Will I be better off overall ?

Of course you will, you are comparing 2nd top DG with 2nd top CG...Composite wil always give more P Def then Brigandine.
Best advise i would give ya is to sell ur current gear at a good price so u have a few mill to do business with.
Start in Dion and look for some bargains u can buy and resell them at a higher price. Don't overprice it however 'cause you'll be stuck with it then for a while. Instead just sell them at the marketprice and have little patience.
Do this untill u have enough cash to buy yourself some decent stuff.
I did this all the way myself up to A grade. No ebaying, no cheating, no presents (only some low D grade stuff i got from my clan when i reached like lvl 26 and still have nothing...), no cashfarming...just common sense on playing the market.
Hope it's a good advice for ya...
Siama - lvl 62 BD on Teon
I farmed FP some while ago for an alt with my BH, think she was mid-50s then. All parts for Helm/Boots/Gloves in like 2 hours, was easy (most of the mobs I did were green I think). Never managed to find out where to get the armor parts fast, I just bought them then ^.^
