Question about Cheap Shot

Player Questions Started Last reply 15 posts
So I'm getting closer to level 40 and c-grade and I'm looking into the gear I want to get.

One thing that looks sweet is the Eminence Bow with Cheap Shot.

I like the idea that a third of the time a regular attack only costs 1 mp. That's sweet.

Here's my question: Is 'Cheap Shot' an enchantment you can buy, like a EWC or EAD or whatever, or does the bow have to have it built-in (i.e., it drops with Cheap Shot or it doesn't)?
you need a crystal, u can buy them in lux shop in giran, or lvl them u self. the weapon got three diff. enchantment "SA" and you need to find out wich crystal is right for the one u want, red/green/blue and the correct lvl on the crystal. then u need to take the weapon+crystal+gemstones to a blacksmith and he will enhance ure weapon for u.

hope it helped =)
That definitely helps, zorreborre, thanks.

So, from what I'm reading on another site, I need a blue crystal for Cheap Shot (on Eminence Bow). But... what's this about 'gemstones'?
When you talk to the blacksmith in giran, he will tell you what type of gemstones and how much adena and what color and level crystal you need to put the cheapshot on it.
Ok, I see. Thanks, Alrohir.

Are gemstones something you buy from npc stores, get as drops, or do dwarves craft them and then sell them in private stores?

I've never shopped for gemstones before.

Sorry for being a shocking newb, btw, but this will be my first time in c-grade. I appreciate all the help!
Find any post on these forums by Elrohir - he has a link at the bottom of his sig which is a download for crafting armor and weapons. It lists everything about the weapons and which crystals and gemstones you need. As far as I'm aware it's up-to-date and is really really useful.
:)
Weapon never drop off mobs with SA applied, you can't find any weapon with SA in NPC shops (PTS is a special case).

To add SA to existing weapon you should visit proper NPC blacksmith (Pushkin in Giran is a perfect guy to visit). If you have weapon with you, he'll give you the list of possible SA applications with prices - for each Sa-less weapon you have in inventory (C-B grade weapons).
Generally you need soul crystal of appropriate level/color and some amount of gemstones of appropriate grade.

You need Blue soul crystal 8 lvl (you can buy one in Luxury store if you don't want to find one in player shops) and 555 C grade gemstones for Eminence Bow to add Cheap shot SA.
Leveling crystals for youself is not practical on your level - mobs you can kill normally will not make soul crystal high enough lvl.
As for gemstones, you can buy them in grocery store of Giran, for example.

Utillis project is far better!!

find tillus and click the link in his sig... it's a calculator for shots.

Also, use a Dagger from 40-52, if you use a emi you will be very poor. Emi uses 10 shots per pull, and you also have to carry arrows, you can never carry enough SS, and Arrows from 40-52 to keep you out parting past 20 minutes. (unless you have a dwarf with extra near by)

I like Greater compressed SS....as a BD this helps me stay out lvling for a very long time. Because of my low con as a DE, I have very lil weight control, so it's nice to know if I spend a lil more cash I'll have longer lvling sessions!

But it's hard to find a dwarf that has it in book...if you do find one, make friends with him! Even harder to find one that has GC/Bss in book.
definitely cheaper with a dagger, but thats going to be the case regardless of what level he is. the problem with people who play with the wrong weapon is that when they do finally switch they have to learn at a much higher level what skills are decent, how to pull mobs properly for their class, how to kite, all that kind of stuff. it's annoying to party up with someone and then have to teach them how to play their own class (of course that might also have to do with other factors as well..) =P

  I can't imagine what you are trying to say here ;) :p :D

Well the General stores do still sell them. But some time ago, they added 'Mineral traders' in the Blacksmith shops that sell just Gemstones and Ores. Also, you need to go to at least Giran for the C gemstones. I'm not sure which Elmore cities sell above C grade gems, but pretty sure It's only Giran/Aden towns in the south. (I don't buy gems that often.) Giran sells up to B gemstones. A gemstones are only avaialble from the Blacksmith of Mammon if I remember correctly.
