Wheres new content for the new players?

All I see is for the high end player and nothing else? Is NCSoft wanting to bring in more players? Or are they just wanting to make the player base they now have happy and content?

I want this game to succeed here in the U.S. But___________...you can fill in that part of it. Posting my concerns seem like they are falling on deaf ears. I know NCSoft has an agenda. Could you please reassure us that your working on making it more available to those of us in NA.

THANKS

you answered your own question.

high end content IS supposed to bring in new players.

pwnd before i even got here.
:cool:Pretty sad that you set yourself up for a flame but I wont go down that road.

Getting new players to play with high end content as the reward wont get them to do so.
Rages, they do it in cycles. This past chronical added tons of stuff for new players, including buffs from NPC's and weapon upgrades through the shops. Now its time to add more high level content.
You mean past chronicles, as in chronicles C0 through C4. C5 wasn't focused on any level in particular, and really neither was any previous chronicle. Enter C6 which is focused on level 75+ players, and it is no wonder everyone else is feeling left out this update.
So you dont think easier leveling, buff NPC's, weapon trade up's were a help at all, or what? When i started it was 18x harder to get into this game then it is now, there doing a good job.

I want new players, yes, but i also dont want to lose the 3k-4k players we have now that have been here for years, and now have nothing to do.
Humm, that is a tough one you have presented. Actually, should those "high level" players leave, it leaves room at the top for slackards like me :)

Just kidding. I think it is great that the game keeps growing and they are putting in quality work to make this game better. There is no way they could have an awsome update that would make everyone happy. I think all in all, the past 3 years, this game has gotten much better. The players are much better and there is still plenty of place to go to that most of us have never even seen.

Two of the big "features" in the Interlude are good for almost everyone: new top A grade weapons will help anyone 61+ and the weapon refinement system will add something to everyone 40+. Weapon refinement looks very exciting to me.

I don't really see anything for high end 75+ content (except for the primeval island to add a new hunting area). With the addition of the new top A weapons actually 76+ is downgraded to some extent. S grade is sorely in need of a major overhaul in terms of weapons and armor.

EDIT: of course many new skills were added for 76+ which I should not have left out. This certainly boosts the power of 76+.
A lot of the content in Interlude is aimed at higher level players, although there is some new mid-level content to enjoy as well. Weapon augmentation, Shadow Weapons, new raid bosses, and a few new skills will be available for players in the 40s and 50s.

From what I understand, future updates of The Chaotic Throne should have new content for all sorts of level ranges, if that's any reassurance. :)
Shadow Weapons in particular will be very helpful for new players - not everyone can afford a backup pole, but everyone should be able to afford a backup shadow pole. ;) 90k - if that thing lasts even one hunt, it'll more than pay for itself.
remind me again the 3 reasons why Burning Crusade boosted wow's stats ...

oh right. level cap increase, horde paladins, and consequential skill boosts.

so pardon me for surmising that high end content doesnt attract noobs.

to be honest there isnt any proof that any of the numbers that wow got were indeed infact NEW players, Or just Old players re-registering for the new content. also WOW's numbers even tho impressive are quite inflated, barely anyone plays when i decide to play, i maybe see 2-3 people at best where i am around. the same goes for here, new chronicles often bring back old players who want to check things out. I don't mind what they release for interlude, w hat is needed to attract NA players is Maybe releasing some of there ALREADY made CG movies onto the TV for some advertising. that might actually do something. lets face it. People play wow cause they hear about it word of mouth etc etc. who the hell hears about a game that insists on hiding in the dark corners of the internet?
Mystryl,
I would like to reach the highest levels with my mains. If Chaotic Throne lets players keep their existing toons, then I forsee no problem doing this, and I will play at the same pace I do now. If, on the other hand, Chaotic Throne does not let all players keep their existing toons, then I might choose to do some things differently in the game. (For instance, I might abandon my second set of mains, which are an SH/SE combo, and concentrate on my Destroyer/WC combo.)
So, I would like to know, if you can tell us at this time, do the development plans allow current L2 players to keep their characters in Chaotic Throne?
Oldfart what are you asking? The character wipe is only on the PTS not the main servers.
I'm asking, is Chaotic Throne ultimately like going from L1 to L2? Because, from what I have been told, L1 players who moved to L2 had to start over from scratch. And calling the next release Interlude tends to imply that some big changes are coming in Chaotic Throne.
Chaotic Throne is basically C6. Lineage2 will go through C12, so we are barely half way to the complete game and all our current characters will continue playing through C12.

...as I understand it. Heck, who am I to talk?!
We had Prelude and we rejoiced...

We had the 5 Chaotic Chronicles (C1 through C5) and we rejoiced ...

We will soon have Interlude and there will again be much rejoicing (and yes you get to keep your characters) ...

Then we will have (probably) 5 Chaotic Throne episodes (let's call them T1 through T5) and there will be much more rejoicing ...

Then we will have one final episode, the thirteenth installment (I'm guessing it will be called Postlude for obvious reasons), and this will be the end, and we will rejoice as we rediscover our lives.
"Rediscover our lives" - thanks for a good laugh!

At Burning's Crusade launch, the majority of players already had several max level characters. Adding more levels add content to a majority of players.
The proportion of players in L2 who are THAT high (79 and 80) is like inexistant.
You know, getting to 70 in WoW is a reasonnable goal for a new player. In L2, you can close your account before opening it if you're making plans on "when you'll be 80". In L2, high level skills are no way something that should be used to attract new players. Get real, there are players that don't even want to go more than lvl 77. It's just not worth the time spent.
Stop your comparison with WoW, thank you!
Well, I am thinking I will try to do it. Will I feel the same in a few months? I dunno, but that's the way I feel now. Of course, I am probably in a vast and underwhelming minority. I wonder just how many level 80s there are right now on all the servers?
