I am looking for a good server. Help Me

I am getting ready to start playing Lineage 2 again and I am trying to decide on a server. I am looking for a server thats highly populated, and has good prices on the weapons and armor.
Hindemith has the friendliest taxes I do believe.
Were you going to play a dwarf? I ask because "good prices" for a crafter mean high prices for a solid profit! For someone buying items then "good prices" might mean low ones, to get a bargin...but you can always shop around and find that bargin on any server (thank goodness our economy is not auction house based or the bargins would go away).

An economist would say that a "good price" is one where supply meets demand which, of course, is the case on all servers and all real economies.

All that said, come to Erica if you are good enough. You have to be good to thrive on Erica.
Lionna has a good population. In my week+ back in L2 (I just came back to L2 after a long break for WoW with rl friends) I've met a lot of nice people. Seems like at least once each evening I meet someone nice enough to add to my Friends List. Giran (one of the big shopping towns) is FULL of players with private shops, for buying and selling, so the economy is good. Every night I've put things up for sale I've woken up the next day to find my items sold, so that's always nice! Plus Lionna is the unofficial RP server, so if you like some light rp once in a while, it can be good for that, too.

For out-of-the-gate advice, a couple things:

Because the game's been out a few years, the newbie areas are pretty empty. Don't be dismayed! Very soon after you start you will make it to Gludio Town and Dion and see a few more people. Then, one day, you'll make it to Giran and see hundreds, if not thousands, of players! Once you get to that point you'll see other players all the time. It can just, at first, be a little unsettling to start out and feel all alone, or almost all alone. However, established players DO start up alts frequently, so you're likely to meet several players of your level as you get going. If you explain you're new they will more than likely help you out.

If you see players with names like 'gfgsgg' and 'sdgkhjhg' (usually dwarf characters) they're (99.9% of the time) farmers/bots and you can just ignore them. They won't mess with you, they are what they are: the ugly step-children of Lineage II.

On the up-side, it really IS a cool game as you get into it. If you search around this site you will find topics covering a player's early days in L2 and what to look for. I suggest you read up on everything you can, ask questions, and, most importantly: have fun!

Pick a character whose looks you REALLY like. You're going to be looking at your character for a long time! People (especially on the boards) will often try to convince you that this race is better than that race, or this class is better than that class. While I'm not going to tell you that they are wrong, one thing to keep in mind is this: you're first class change isn't until level 20. So, until level 20, it is impossible to make a BAD choice. =P

Another thing: You will occasionally get 'drops' from monsters. Things like weapon and armor you should just go ahead and use (if they're better than what you have at the time) or sell. Same thing for parts and recipes you find early on. However, when materials drop (like coal, varnish, stem, animal skin, animal bones, thread, etc.) SAVE THEM. SAVE THEM ALL!!!! Put them in your personal warehouse; you'll thank me later when you get into crafting or selling to the markets of Giran.

I think that's enough for now, at least from me. The most important thing is to make a character that seems cool to you, and just get into the game, explore the starting area your chosen race starts in, and HAVE FUN.
