Just thought I'd ask if anyone else had silly jokes played on them as a child that they wouldn't have realised were jokes at the time. These were 3 I had played on me.
I was sent to the local shop for some Tarten paint
I was then sent for some Sky Hooks.
Same shop - I asked for a long weight - nearly 30 mins later I was still 'waiting'
other than the i will give you a shiney quater for your 10$ bill because silver metal is better than paper... no...
Although in the navy we play those jokes on people all the time..

mail bouey watch. (because the navy will drop large amounts of mail into the ocean for later pickup)

i was once told by the actual techies that worked on my car that i needed turn signal fluid.
Me and several friends of mine did an elaborate trick on another group of my friends.
We went to one of our houses and made sure that the only way out of the house was the front door (we blocked the others with c clamps and one in the garage that we covered up so the "assailant" could come in and out of the house as he pleased).
When the victims came, the "assailant" c-clamped the front door from the outside and sneaked in via the garage.
We watched some XFL (while it was still going) and the power went off.
Freaked the hell out of them when they couldn't get out of the house lmao.

You know if your cars exhaust sounds loud, you should get those muffler bearings checked..... Yeap, sounds like a case of a bad muffler bearing to me..... :)
When I worked at a resturaunt we used to send people next door to see if we could borrow the hotel's squegee sharpener. Or we used to have people empty the hot water from the coffee machine, which never runs out. We had someone emptying water for 3 hours once because we forgot they were doing it.
When I was a kid if I ever cut myself and started to bleed my mom would tell me as long as the blood was red and not green that I'd be fine. She said that so I wouldn't get freaked out by it or start to cry.
It backfired one summer when I was skateboarding home from a friend's house. I didn't see a manhole and as soon as the board went over it I got thrown off. Being a rebellious kid I had no protective gear on and went straight to the pavement. Had massive gashes all over my face and hands, two of my teeth could be seen pierced through my left cheek. I walked into our kitchen where my mom was talking to her best friend with blood dripping all down my shirt and on the floor.
Her friend screamed and my mom looked like she'd just seen a ghost, I opened up with "Mom relax, it's red!"

I never had any jokes played on me but I used to play them on my sister.
Once, when I was little, my parents left my brother (11), me (8) and my sister (5) alone for a while at our house. I somehow talked my brother into helping me, don't know how... but anyway, I got all dressed up in black, took the BIG butcher knife out of the kitchen, put on a ski mask and went down to the basement - all while my brother diverted my sister's attention for a while.
Then I made all sorts of noises in the basement, and my brother told my sister to wait for him, leaving her just at the top of the stairs. He came downstairs, we made some scuffling noises and he screamed and fell to the floor. Then I kept silent for a few minutes until my sister came down to check on him and find him "dead". Of course by this time she was already freaking out, but I wasn't finished. At that point I jumped out at her, butcher knife in hand and she screamed and took off running, locking herself in her room.
I've never laughed so hard in my life - heck, I still laugh over it. I mean, I was an extremely short 8-year-old girl... didn't exactly look the part of a random axe murderer. She was just so gullible, 5 years old or not.
But I also see the other side of it, that it was extremely mean of us. Heck, I'm lucky she didn't have a heart attack! She was frantic even after we showed her that my brother was still alive and she was inconsolable for the rest of the day. Boy, did I ever get in trouble for that one! And unfortunately (or fortunately?) I never did top that... ah well. :P
I sent one of my sailors to ask the Chief for an ID 10 T form. The chief sent him to the first class. Needless to say he finally figured it out when he had to write it down.
As for the blood being red story I have one similar. When I was very very young and would hurt myself I would go crying to mother. She would look at what I had done and say does that hurt? Of course I would answer with more crying and an affirmative. Then she would stomp on my foot and then ask me if it still hurt. When I would say my foot hurt she would stomp on my other foot and ask if my first foot still hurt. Needless to say I learned not to cry at an early age. I scared the hell out of a lot of people when I was run over by a van when I was 6 because I wasnt crying. I got up and limped up to the house without even a sniffle cause I didnt want to get my foot stomped on.
Now days my wife will exclaim "Your bleeding!" I usually reply "Really? Where?" Wife "You dont know? Didnt it hurt?"
Guess the lesson stuck. LMAO :p
i didnt get pranked when i was a kid no one to prank me, but when i moved to the U.S. i knew this horribly idiotic kid in middle school, I somehow convinced him the fluffy purple shoots of flowers that grew on the grass Were naturally growing chocolate covered ants... i meet up with him 2 years later.. to find him still eating the **** grass flowers...

lol thats the best story i have ever heard!!!!
one time i told my brother i got a new cellphone and for him to call it, but i gave him the number to some random girl lol -it was akward
A good while of year ago( was going to highschool ) a friend of mine came home. At that time I was using some gel for my teeth I cant really recall what was it for. He wanted to fix his hair and I told him you can borrow my gel and that it was the white bottle near the sink. He was using a lot of that think complaning that it wasnt hard enough and I kept telling him go away use more. By the time the bottle was almost empty I was down on my knees almost crying from what he was doing..
I used to run a restaurand downtown, there was a pay phone on the corner. We would put whipped cream on the pay phone earpiece and then dial it up as one of the employees was walking to her car after work, and she would answer it.
Awhile back, a friend and I went to taco bell. He got up to flirt with some girl and while he was up, I took the lid off his drink. I put the bottom of his straw and put into a package of fire sauce and put it back into his drink with the end of the straw still in the fire sauce pack.
He came back, grabbed his drink and went back over there and kept flirting. After a minute he took a huge gulp, and all I heard was gagging. Needless to say, the flirting didn't keep going. He simply came back over and said, "****, thats was a pretty good one".
