Ability Scores?

Not quite sure what you refer to them as, in L2, but in D&D your "stats", as in STR, DEX, CON, and such are refered to as "Ability Scores". So, for arguement's sake, I'm going to call them as such for the remainder of this post. Please, bear with me.

What does each Ability Score donate to your character? Is there any specific increase for each point increase, or, is it somewhat random? I mean, for each point of CON you add, does it add a predetermined specified amount, or, is it something like a RANGE that'll be added?

I'm asking, because, I constantly see people giving advice to others, and refering to each class/races extra/lack of points in certain abilities.

Which dyes do you think would be good for an Elven Oracle? I (hopefully) plan on grouping, for the most part, so, something that'll help me with my healing, would be very welcome.

Thanks for your time, reading this rambling, pointless post, if you have.

con- this has to do with you hp, the amount of weight you can carry and resistance to stuns (not too sure on this one)
dex- run speed, crit rate, and attack speed (again not too sure about last one)
str- good ole patk :-)
int, men and wit don't know cause i'm primarily a fighter

hope that helps some
All the attributes add predefined amounts to your other stats, but the amounts depend on the race, class(fighter/mystic) and the basic stats. There's some pretty decent tablets showing most of the easy to notice, mathematical effects around, you might find them with search.

Anyway,
STR = pattk, simple as that.
DEX = Run speed, Accuracy, Crit rate and attack speed are all influenced by dex.
CON = Max HP, max weight limit and stun resistance, not sure if poison and bleeding resistances are under CON or not.

Thats the fighter stats, WIT, INT and MEN are the stats that you as an EO(Elven Oracle) will be concentrating most on, and since I'm not a healer class, I wont comment on the tat setup for you.
You could use the search function you know.

Elven Oracle -> Elven Elder. After 40 use +4 wit -4 men (raises rez % and cast speed, lowers mdef, mp max, and mdef) definitely. No respectable EE runs without this tat. Most EE's also use +4 con -4 str (increased carrying, resistance to stun, hp, and hp regen, decreased damage) since you hit like a baby anyway. Last tat, either go +1 wit -1 men or +4 dex -4 str (increased accuracy, crit rate, shield block rate, evasion, move speed, decreased damage).

edit: ooh...750 posts. I wonder how many of those were gameguard bashing?
INT - M atk

WIT - casting speed

MEN - Mana pool and regen on MP, MDEF

I think that's the basics these three influence...

As an Elf by default your WIT will be the highest of these three stats if I'm not mistaken. What Valdis suggested sounds good to me although I prefer another EE to get more in dept with this.

I'm a caster but a Sorceress not an EE so I will not ellaborate on what I don't know for sure.
My old main was an EE. healers and buffers cannot alter int with tats, so wit's all you can do.
Then WIT and CON would be best I guess...Considering the points you stated Valdis :)
I would go for +4wit -4men, +4con -4str, +4dex -4str.

Doesn't really matter for you, but WIT also increases magic critical rate.
pretty sure we just call those guys stats ^^

these guys (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/enhancements.html)

and basically how they work is the higher the number the more you gain from then
for example if you have 40 con (that effects hp) and you add another 4 con you might gain 500 extra hp
if you have 30 con and add another 4 you might gain 300 extra hp

certain stats are more effective to add to than others
a good example is most fighters going +str -con and all mages going +wit - men
basically what that shows is how important damage is in this game so if you can add to a stat that boosts damage and minus from one that adds hp or defence its usually a good idea
