i have a lvl 20 elven knight but getting kinda bored lvling him for right now. i want to start a mystic and im wonderying what is best to go with staff or bow? and what kind of armor should i use with a mystic
Hi Zappy, I don't think Elven Knights are the most favoured class out there so you can be forgiven for getting bored ;-) if your creating a conventional mystic ie DE / LE or Human then a primary magic weapon is best, i think mystics get penalties for using bows now. If you can afford the top no grade mystic weapon then use one of these

Crucifix of Blessing
Voodoo Doll
There's usually someone around the starter towns or somewhere like Gludin selling one of these for about 250k or there abouts. If you can't afford the top weapons then depending on what race you are there is a quest you can do about level 10 that lets you gain a half decent no grade weapon, i'd suggest doing that. Now if you want to create an orc mystic that's a whole different kettle of fish...
get the devotion robe set for faster casting speed and any shield you can afford. shield ain't that necessary at NG grade though.
there is no bow penalty that I'm aware of. however the top mattk of a NG bow is 21 compared to 28 on a top mage weapon.
A bow was useful before herbs were introduced as it was so easy to run out of mana, so you could have used the bow in two ways, as a casting weapon and as a back up when mana ran out.
However with mana herbs you rarley will run out so stick with the best mage weapon you can afford.
hmm i'm levelling up a mage and i run out of mp so **** quickly at about level 14 and onwards, the mp pots don't seem to drop quickly enough, i'm probably doing something wrong ;-) regarding the bow i thought they used up mp when you fired one or is that only for D grade and above?
well obviously you can't use a bow when complety out, but say your down to 40 mp - you can't risk casting but you can switch to bow and get a few kills and maybe get the mana herb you've been shouting for!

Human knights are good.Nukers are boring and archers are expensive.If you look for smtn different orc fighters offer variety.
i was using the beginners ones and the normal ones from the shop, i think what my mistake was that i upgraded my Wind strike when i didn't need to, so ended up costing me more mp than needed.
I'm now level 19 Human Wizard and when i was level 14 i was hunting the spiders at windmill hill, using a friends SE to recharge ;-)
