Not getting all of it, just a quick summary of available services ...
1. Character transfer from one account to other account of the same person (no server transfer!). Cost: 19800 KRW (about 21 USD or 16 EUR).
2. Sex change of a character. Cost: 9900 KRW (about 10.5 USD or 8 EUR).
3. Character name change (you create a level 1 character with the new name and apply for the change; the level 1 gets deleted, your old char gets his name). Cost: 19800 KRW (about 21 USD or 16 EUR).
4. ??? Server transfer, I think. If I got that one correctly (which I doubt :)), you char arrives at the new server with no equipment, but with some money based on his level. Cost: 29700 KRW (about 30.5 USD or 24 EUR).
Anyways, about the server transfer, this sounds good. Money based on lvl, this is like 1m/lvl as far as I know NCsoft (well, if this would be a service in NA it would be 1m/lvl).

Also, upon further reading, I think that's just the maximum amount of money you can transfer, not just get for free. Still not sure about the other equipment.
Do they have gamecards in KR? And how will those people that use it pay for such services? They may set it so people spend e.g. one month of timecard for transfer or something like that, who knows how it's going to work ...

I'd not want to give 8 euro's just to get my char a new name...If I do feel like aname isn't ok, I should have thought longer before actually leveling up that toon...Or else I'd just start again. It's not like it's hard to do once you actually know the game and what the good XP or Adena quests are.
The only thing I find handy in that whole note is the account transfer, then again...I'd not pay for that either LOL. I can use those 8 to 16 euro's for more important things
Would be nice to take that prophet I started in C2 off my main's account and put it on one of the ones I am not using. That's about all I would do what that.
Noted scam artist that joins a clan gets help with building gear leaves clan, sells gear and rinse repeat yada. now is essentially blacklisted from clans, gets to change his name...hmmmm.
(no, I dont trade my weapons to anyone, they took me forever to build and I am poor and cant even put SA's on them, let alone replace them)
not everyone is as careful as you Ellie, they should be, but they arent.

We don't have name changes now, and I've known people that have trusted members of a clan for ages and then were stripped bare just out of the blue one day. More than once, in fact. That can happen from a good friend or a long time, repeat scammer.
I have let people use my gear, but the second I hand it over I accept the fact that I may never see it again.
I'd probably pay for a name change if I could on my wife's character.
She created it, but clicked wrong (mystic instead of fighter) so instead of waiting a full 7 days just remade, but still wants her old name.
Nothing really wrong with that I woudnt think and I could see it alot for female players. Not to generalize, but most males really could care less about their name... heck... IPWNZU should clearly state that LOL.
Every day I walk by a cata room and see PWNER sitting there licking a wall with a sign over his head that reads "afk dinner" - I see him there morning, noon and night.
This is a guy who would never be allowed in my clan normally, but with name changes....
Beyond that, these servers are fairly small places. A person should live and die by their reputation. Allowing name changes completely removes that. I'm not just talking about scamming items either, there are alot of other ills that can be done to people or clans, and the only way that can be tracked is by the person's name.

Name changes wont change anything about the actual person playing behind the computer. His or Her actions will still be the same.
What it WILL fix, is people that have been wrongly convicted of something.
Still however, nothing is secret in L2. Change your name? Fine, but you wont change your friends.. you'll still talk to them, and they'll still talk to their friends, so on and so forth until it gets around.
You'd not only have to sever all ties with your former friends... you'd also have to completely and utterly change your personality in real life to that of not being a ***. I doubt that'll happen for the majority.
Yes, but as it stands, I know who the [censored] are by their name. If they change thier name every 3 weeks then I have to go through figuring it all out again.
The toons simply do not look unique enough in L2, and beyond that, it's a pretty simple thing to change what your toon looks like.

I don't see how people can scam MORE if they had a name change. Here's my example:
Trusted friend of 2 years: Hi Ellie can I hold your +5 SOM?
me: No.
Some new guy I've never heard of: Hi Ellie, can I hold your +5 SOM?
Me: No

Right there with you. There are a handful of people I trust, but I don't make requests that I wouldn't want people asking of me.

You act as if you know every farmer.
I've seen countless people be labeled as farmers who were never such a thing.
I've also seen more "legit" characters be farmers/you know what users then I care to admit, so really, what does it matter?
The game is rife with corruption. One could make a argument every time you raise the level cap you are giving in to the bad element... so lets just leave the game stagnant and never changing.
Before if a farmer boss wanted to sell a character later,he/she had to choose a name and not the ussual jfgjfdk..In a sence that was a long term investment he/she had to do,knowing there was a chance it would never sell.Because the name would be known as a botted toon,and not many would be interrested in it maybe.This new service removes that factor as the farmer or the player can just pick another name.Sure it would still be a new high lvl player showing up from out of nowhere,but it wouldent be whit a marked name.
I dont know all farmers,but i do know this.They are here to make money one way or another,and if i was a farmer i would jump all over this as another source of incomme.
For players who done wrong in the past,its a good chance to start over ill give you that.But all in all i the farmers as the true winners out of this service.Well NCsoft is the biggest but hey :D
