Hello everyone, my boyfriend picked up Lineage II yesterday and we`ve started playing since we installed it. (I`m Kelalia, he`s Ralith) We`ve been levelling up together (Now level 10) and feeling around for how the game works and whatnot. I have a few questions though, that I`m hoping could maybe get answered?
My boyfriend plays on a MacBook, which lacks the right click button, is there another way to turn the camera angle around? This is one thing that really kind of anoyed him. (He`s borrowing an external DVD driver today to install on his regular PC, but it would be nice to know in the future since I use the macbook while he`s away.)
Any useful tips on how to make Adena? I read the newbie FAQ which mentioned playing the market, using the manor system, ect. Also mentioned asking players. Right now our source of income is just the stuff that drops while we EXP.
The market.. how do you use it? Or view it? We come from FFXI where there`s the AH system with an AH in every town, is it similar? AGain, on the newbie FAQ it mentioned the trade tab, but there`s never ever anything being said there.
What is the manor system? o.O
How do you tell what level people are? Newbie Guide in game mentioned partying with other people to gain EXP, and we always party together when we EXP, but I suppose later on you have bigger parties? How do you find other people to party with?
I also read in the newbie FAQ that it`s prety desolate starting out, but you find more and more people as you level and travel more. About what level do you start seeing more people? The most interaction I`ve had with someone other than Ralith was someone (KarhZar) casting random buffs on me, a brief conversation, and that`s it.
How do you use the friends feature on the community thing? Or better yet how do you use most of that stuff there? (I understand what the clan tab is for)
That`s all the questions I can think of right now, my BF might want me to ask some more once he gets to work and logs on AIM and I can talk to him lol.
And all the questions and newbness aside, so far I`m really enjoying the game :)
Welcome to Erica, we are glad to have you here. I will private mail you some names of good people.
Lineage is a difficult world at times, it is up to us to protect ourselves. Never lend your gear to anyone, lest they steal it. If you see a red player, run...they may well kill you.
This is a vast and fascinating world, I have played for 2 1/2 years and still not visited every spot nor experienced near all there is to do, truely amazing!

from Stratics:
End Changes your camera view 'Over-the-shoulder'.
Home Changes your camera view 'Front'.
Page up Changes your camera view 'Reduced'.
Page Down Changes your camera view 'Full'.

Do the Quests! Do the next special event the next time we
have one! At level 15 see Martin in Gludin and get the pet
quest, then sell the wolf collar in Giran for 200,000a!
How do you use the friends feature on the community thing?
/friendinvite xxxx where xxxx=name of character you want to
be your friend. I use alt+b to bring up the community
screen, then the friends tab to see who is on. Then the
Messenger button at lower left, then "chat with friends online"
I think it is? You get a window to talk with the friend you
selected :)
Hey Kelalia, I keep hovering between FF XI and L2 myself, so welcome to Erika!
First of all, L2 doesn't have an AH or anything at all similar to that. The two ways to buy/sell items is to make a buy or sell shop in town (you'll see a bunch in dion and a whole lot in giran). I suggest you keep all the basic materials you get from hunting (such as animal bones, iron ore, stems, etc) until you get to either town to sell them to players, since players will pay you a lot more than they're worth in shop. You'll also notice a lot of people shouting with ! (shout) or + (trade) about items they want to sell/buy in giran. Consider giran as the old Jeuno before Aht Urgan came along.
As for other ways of making money, quests will be your main source of income until your mid 20s for sure, after that the good money quests come and go sporadically. If you're both orks, then ork village is probably the best, if not I think Dark Elven village has a lot of quests open for any race to do them.
There is no /who all blm 10-15 either. As someone mentioned earlier, you have to guesstimate by the gear.
There is a party seeking option in game, but it's not normally used. Before you head out of town, you can try a !shout to offer if anyone wants to tag along. People don't party much before 20 and once you get accepted in a clan academy, you'll be all set.
Clans are kinda like linkshells, except you can only belong to one at a time. They'll be your main source of parties, along with the alliance your clan is in, along with the friends you make along the way.
/friendinvite name to invite someone to your friends list, and alt-y and chat with friends to see which of your friends are online.
If you have any other questions, don't be shy. Leave them here, or I'll try to contact you in-game one of these days.
Good luck, and keep your head on: lots of pks around ;)
welcome to erica :) learn the manor it will help u with mats. keep all your basic mats so u can craft stuff. you might also wanna make a dwarf on your account to hold your stuff. and you start seeing alot of people in dion around lvl 30. good luck and pm me for help if ya need it my toons korlic
welcome to erica, yeah do alot of the quests for some money, and when u can take advantage of the manor system, really good way of getting materials to craft your gear later on or if needed to sell mats and make some pretty good money.
Manor you buy seeds from the manor manager and use them on mobs and harvest "fruit/crops" from the mob when it dies and then at a certain time in the day when manor restarts you can turn them in for materials. Best to do this right when it restarts to try and beat farmers to it, 6:06pm pst every night.
When buying seeds, have a look around the market for which mats sell for more and wat buying prices for them and stuff are so it will be more efficient for you if you are planning to sell them, if the seed is in your/mobs level range and is a mat that will bring you some good profits then go for it, just make sure you will be able to get the rewards b4 farmers and can sell them beacuase manor does take some money to make money since you gotta buy the seeds.
Hope that helps and if ya need help with somethin, can throw me a pm.

Not sure this will work on a MacBook, or if you even want to try it, but if you have a game controller plugged in and it is enabled in the Options->Game tab, you should be able to use that to change the camera view. There have been known issues with that though as having a game controller (gamepad, joystick, etc) plugged in can make your camera spin when you enter the game. Use with caution.
