Hi everyone, well my question is this. I am currently a lvl 29 warrior with NG bone armor and 200k adena. I'm trying to sell my 2 EAD's and my blessed scroll of pet res (dont know how much its worth can someone give me a clue ). Still even if i sell it i dont think il have enough for the brig armor. (wanna buy body & legs). So can someone give me any tips or link me any guides how to make fast money in my position. Ty
That sounds kinda odd. I'm in a similar situation except I'm only 20. One thing you have to keep in mind is that in L2, as I've been told many a time, you have to choose whether you're going to hunt for XP or whether you're going to hunt for adena. It seems like you haven't spent any time farming for money, instead going for XP (though I could definitely be wrong. I benefited a great deal from bots/alts in the DE Village who created literal fields of gold).
As far as I know, there are no ways to make 'fast money', at least not at low levels. One possible way would be to play the market (i.e. buy low/sell high) but that's not always fast (usually requires a great deal of effort and patience, in my experience). What something is worth varies by server (and you didn't give your server) so that's something to consider as well.
The only things I can suggest are the things I've been doing. Like, spend some time (not 15 minutes, I'm talking entire play sessions) killing monsters that have a chance of dropping stuff you can sell to other players. Learn the manor system and do it religiously. Stop wasting money during everyday play (blowing shots/potions on trivial mobs, teleporting everywhere, etc). If you teleport from Gludio to Dion, you're wasting money. Heck, at your level, if you teleport from Gludio to Gludin, you might be wasting money. The exception to that is if you can guarantee you'll make that money (what, like 7500a?) back easily by doing so. Learn your server's market as intimately as possible. Know what things you can get go for to others. Set up shop and sell stuff rather than logging out (if possible). In short, it seems to me (and I'm only a week old) that making money in L2 is like having a high maintenance trophy wife. It's a commitment that requires a lot of effort above and beyond the norm (XP/leveling). I spent a day in Giran looking at various shops and managed to turn a small profit by buying DSS from one person at 12a per and selling it to another person at 13a per. Sure, it's not winning the lottery. But neither Rome nor Microsoft were built in a day.
Might want to check the various fansites to see which mobs drop stuff that you could either sell to NPCs (last resort) or sell to players. I use Stratics and L2Vault more often than not. Ol Mahum mobs can drop a top NG blunt (Buzdyan) that would probably sell well both to NPCs and players if you price it below the merchant sell price. They're also high teens to low 20s (at least the ones I've seen) so might be easy for you to raze.
Focus your hunting. Maybe join an academy and do the quest for Clan Oath armor (which is awesome btw, for the effort and time spent). You're not going to get the Brig set's full value without a few pieces more than you intend to buy, after all, and clan oath has some nice bonuses on it. I've been told not to spend much time and/or adena on D grade stuff because the levels go by so fast (relatively speaking) and to concentrate on saving up for C grade stuff. I've taken suggestions I've been given here and ingame and I'm hoping I can deal with the C grade crunch (though, as a result of taking said advice, I'm not leveling nearly as fast as I could be, which isn't a bad thing IMO). Some folks have recommended that I start a dwarf or two and go the 'make shots for adena' route but I dunno if I'm ready for that yet. ;)
look for a clan that will invite you to the academy, im sure they will sponsor you with a clan oath armor set.
ofc you will still need money for a wep and later for Cgrade. I would say use the manor system while soloing. will give some nice cash.
If you just want money FAST and no gridning, use the manor system, go to a catacom for your level, and go into a room with bots. seed their mobs. even at lvl29 Im sure you can make a feew millions / day.
(I made about 1m / hour at lvl40-50 manoring)
Just a couple more things that can speed your first Million up a little...
Make another melee character. Freight it your armor and weapons. With your current gear on this char, every adena you make is profit after you pay for the freighting. Do the newbie quests with it and get the bonus novice shots. Making L20 shouldn't take long at all, and you'll probably have enough after that to get at least the Brigandine amor from Giran. Rinse and repeat if necessary. (You can just delete the excess chars later if you don't want to keep them.)
For extra cash, consider turning on the "Fishing shot" quest that the Fishing guides offer. This quest can interfere a bit with the drop rate of other quests, but the cash-in rate is pure gold compared to many of your other quests. Check the list of mobs that it applies to from the Guide and just turn it off when your other money quests crossover with that list. (Or at least check if the drop rate on them is affected by it, as not all are.)
The quest is infinite, so just keep killing and gaining "Sweet Fluids". Once you have a bunch, go back to the Fishing guide and convert them to S grade Fishing shots and just sell those to any NPC. You will get 100a per Sweet Fluid by doing this. There is no other quest with this high of a reward before L40 (That I know of) per Quest item and has contributing mobs just about everywhere.
ya im kinda in a spot were i need some adena im thinkin about goin back on my lvl 21 orc monk but the problem is i sold all my gear and im really low on adena so im open to any easy ways of gettin craploads of adena(although on my alt i think they do catacomb runs so i dont know i might just lvl up and wait til i can go on a few and just freight the money i get to my other character)
Great post RemianenV !
Its good to see that people do some research and take given advice to heart!
Manoring: Process by whitch a player
-> buys "seeds" form the manor npc of a certain castle (be sure the seeds you buy are good for your level range, if not they will fail!)
-> then "seed " the mobs (uses seeds on mobs before killing mob) (must be in the area the seeds are made for)
-> the you harvest your "crops" (use harvester on dead mob you seeded)
-> turn in the crops at the manor npc for basic materials at ~9:06 eastern time
-> Sell basic mats (player sell shop) or keep them for your crafting needs!
The reward type controls what mats (of two possible mats ) you will get. The higher the buy-back price, the more materaisl you will get for your crops. You will face though comeptetion to turn your crops back in for a reward. Be prepared to click like a mad man! If you cannot turn in crops at highest buy-back price town (because of too much competition), try the second best price.
One day way way back in the old days, a manor lord mispriced the crop buy back price, mixing up the buy-back total with the buy-back price. A clannie of mine made 32 million that night by cashing in the crops he had seeded that day ><
PS: Do not buy alternative seeds, they are not worth it.
Do not sell your basic materials at an NPC

you got a deal on the Sword, very nice looking weapon too!
but why on earth waste 100k on a mask!! they may look good but that money you could have bought D crystals and made enough soul shots to keep you going for ages...
ok.. so bou the manor thing. One suggested that i should go to catacombs and seed the mobs of bots. Ok first where are teh catacombs, and second what seeds should i buy :x. As for the mask.. god i'm stupid :(

we all make mistakes hehe and it won't be your last. compulsive purchase eh?
I keep most of my adena in my warehouse so I have to think before I spend it.
Running insstead of using the GK, as was mentioned, not only saves you money but also gives you the opportunity to find those wonderful fields of adena that are sometimes lying around...if you port, you miss unusual and enriching experiences that running will give you.

OK a very risky way to make a ton of adena fast is to make a low level alt. Take the boat to Rune. Run from Rune to the Forest of the Dead. Run around and pick up adena until an aggro mob kills you. Return to village and repeat.
You will die often, but you won't drop anything you pick up. If you are diligent I bet you could make a few million adena a day doing this.
I saw someone doing this once. They asked if it was OK to pick up the drops (since I wasn't picking up everything) and I said OK. I even rezzed the person when they died. This brought me great karma and 10 minutes later I got a full BW gaiters armor drop.
Anyway, at low level I can't think of any better way to make a ton of adena faster than this method. Over time you will begin to notice which mobs you have to stay clear of to stay alive the longest. Just make sure the character you use for this is level 1 since the mobs there will 1-shot kill any character that is lower than maybe level 40 anyway.

yeah its a great option
just dont go ninja looting from ppl, there is nothing to really stop you except your own morals
What's a Mask of Spirits do? I think I've seen it on a player store somewhere but don't remember exactly. Is it one of those things like demon horns and fairy antennae and cat ears that's just for looks? I think I remember the text for the item referring to the Halloween 2006 event but I might be misremembering.

yup it was a prize for the Halloween event and has no enhancements (well except for having a great effect on party mask prices lol)
Here is another method although it may not be as good as others. If you are a dwarf, do the quest to get a calculator. Repeat it multiple times until you get a few calculators, go to Giran and then sell for 50-100k :D

to bad no one does catacomb runs on franz :( or am i wrong cuz i never see anyone lookin for parties

When worn by an LE female with white hair, Tallum plate, a Dragonslayer and the horns... the mask makes you look really evil.
If it does anything else, I've yet to discover what.

what lvl can you do that quest at? i might make a dorf just to do it so i can farm some adena

The fishing NPC who turns the "Quest for fishing shot" on and off, is usually found in the general stores of each town. For Giran this is the General store on the west side of town.
You'll find it just across from the Giran weapon shop....forgive my crappy ACII art, but here's a quicky map.
The fishing shot quest is good because there are mobs for it pretty much everywhere in the world. So you can get quest items no matter what level you are...the only bad thing is that some quests (not all) apparently affected (reduced?) if it is active. The TOI quests being the most well known. If you talk to the Fishing NPC he offers you a list of which mobs drop fluids in every hunting zone. Just check the list when you change hunting zones, and if there is a conflict, just trade in all your current fluids and stop the quest until you go elsewhere.
Just be sure to convert to A or S grade fishing shots to make a full 100a per fluid. For the statistic retentive, here's the table I came up with to determine how much each one is worth based on the fluid to shot conversions and what NPC's buy the shots for.
[Grade][Shots][NPC][Total Value]
---------------------------------------
NG 66 Shots * 1a = 66a
D 40 Shots * 2a = 80a
C 28 Shots * 3a = 84a
B 8 Shots * 12a = 96a
A 5 Shots * 20a = 100a
S 4 Shots * 25a = 100a
As you can see NG shots are the lowest value per fluid, while A and S grade give the same return. It's good because you don't have to be S grade Level to convert to S grade shots. Also, shots tend to weigh a lot in big batches, so converting to the best price also gets you the lowest weight as well....I ended up with something like 300K D grade shots when I first converted all my fluids, before I figured out what they were worth. This left me making quite a few trips to WH and later sell them.
If you care, you could try to sell the finished shots for more to other players...I leave this up to you and your servers market.
IMO, the best way to make money is crafting. Sure, it takes time and some effort, but if I can turn 12m into 32m in a few days, I don't mind the sitting in Giran. You need a bit of money to get going though.. depending on your server's current economy, buying ancient adena and blank scrolls, then turning them into EWD/EWC with merchant of mammon could be very profitable too. Or just buy ancient adena and get A-gemstones from merchant of mammon, sell them for a while and start the crafting. Top C-grade weapons take about 6m to craft, depending on the current economy flux(on Teon, varnish is greatly over-priced at the moment) but if you do some manoring, you can craft them VERY cheap.
Get in a clan that will help you get equipment and helps with your crafts by providing key-materials and recipes and/or crafters you need.

hey ive been trying this but..it didnt go very well..there isnt much adena lying around... and the mobs always gte me :/... i got like 145k but in like along time. I hop i will have better luck later
@ BeeboX, if you're already in Rune, try the valley of saints. Lots of nukers there don't bother to pick their drops either(slows their grinding or something, pfft). Look out for Flash of Splendor, Soul of Splendor and Pilgrim of Splendor since they are aggro and will oneshot kill you.
how much adena would i make if i made a dwarf alt and crafted cuz i dont know im doin the manor system right now but im not really makin that much adena
