cant decide what i wanna re roll i gotta lvl 21 orc monk thats gear is stripped(sold em cuz i was gonna re roll) but someone told me as far as 1 vs 1 pvp a overlord would pwn a tyrant so im wonderin if a OL would be better to play in pvp but i dont know i heard there gettin a boost(tyrants are)in interlude so maybe they'll be better
ya thats what ive heard but lately ive gotten tired of playin tyrants so i thought about goin OL cuz ive seen some sick pvp with dominators
or would it be worth even lvlin this character cuz ive heard that dominators are support classes in pvp and id rather play a DD in pvp then a support class(everyone ive talked to says dominators are used for cp heals in pvp)
If you have an ally that your going to be partying with constantly sure. But if you dont and you want to solo your OL they take ALOT of MP, sure 40-52 you will go pretty easy if you have a melee weap. But i found that after B Grade your skills take a whole wack of MP (buffs and Soul Cry) that if you solo with an OL you wont get very far, they are really party dependant - i must say they rock for AOE partys and they really help for RB's and during Seiges (got to love the ally CP heal). But yes they are really hard to solo.
And it depends on your playstyle.. ive seen some OL use AOE Root, AOE Silence or AOE Confusion and they have been right out in the thick of things and ive seen OL just use cp heals and buffs.
hmm well....ive heard lots of people(not just on this forum but people ive talked to on ventrilo and stuff)say OL's are hard to lvl and really if im just gonna lvl mine up and find out that all im gonna be doin in pvp is cp healing and stuff id rather just stay with a tyrant and my playstyle is i like characters that can do tons of damage really fast like daggers and stuff when i pvp i just wanna roll up to the person and drop him as fast as possible
Overlords can do a bit of everything, but their forté is probably cp curing when it comes to massive pvp.
If you're going against people lower level than you are, then your seals will work amazingly well (like if you're a 80 dominator hero going against level 65s and 70s), but other than that your seals will be generally useless.
In 1 vs 1 PvP, self-buffed an OL can be pretty decent since we get acu/zerk/emp3/shield/m.def/might/guid/dw/agi as well as soul guard/soul cry.
For naked cithara duels, we're probably the best class (except for summoners, but that'd be cheating). But that's useless anyways :P
In melee, we're quite bad. The boost to our stun in Interlude will make us slightly less bad, but we're down there with the healers and the meleeing nukers. Except we have more hp/cp.
Oh, and OLs leveling slowly is an understatement. If you wanna be high level in less than a year, play an other class. We add nothing unique to parties except maybe security when all hell breaks loose, but otherwise we're a waste of a spot. So the only parties you can expect are some less than ideal parties that level very slowly, or solo / duo with a SE/prophet you level at the same time.
How long are you willing to work on the toon. The Tyrant will level very fast and is the fastest toon in the game with their bunny skill. You can do alot of damage, solo easy but you pay big adena for ss.
OL, yes, get it to the top of its game ( I bet less than 15% of the players ever see this level ) then you will be a powerful player in deed. Until then, you have got to work your bunns off.
We have a few tyrants in our clan. They are having fun right now and can do incredable things. Something to think about too when deciding on which road to travel.

i want a toon that can lvl up just not extremely slow(as in id rather get lvl 78 sometime this year) and i want a class thats more of a DD in pvp then a support class i heard OL's are used more as a support class in pvp
