fastest way to make money?

ok im on franz and the only people who do catacomb runs are botters/farmers from what ive seen and i was gonna re roll a OL so i stripped my main of his gear and freighted it to my alt and sold it but my problem is i decided to go back to my monk but i dont have enough money for d grade fists and im kinda gettin tired of usin this zweihander(monks dont use 2 handed swords anyway)so anyone know a really good way of getting adena fast
Learn how to manor. You can make enough money by level 20 for a top D weapon and armour.
im actually doin the manor system right now havent really turned any of my stuff i harvested in yet(guess you need to do it at 9:06 pm eastern time on franz)

and im lvl 21 but how long would it take to make enough money for top d grade if i just did this all day
A few hours. Figure out which is the best crop to sell on your server, then go manor in Necro of Sacrifice. Red Coda give 10-14 crops in NoS though. ;)
no one ever seems to do catacomb runs on franz though except bot trains and farmers
Nonono, you want to do this solo, so you get the most seeds for yourself. ;)
solo necropolis of sacrifice? or just find a good area and seed mobs all day cuz thats what im currently doin
It may seem slow in Necro of Sacrifice, but you have to realise that you get 4x XP and SP from them, and 10x on certain seeds. It works out faster.
what if i just did what im doin now and did the vanquish remains quest(kill the crap in abandoned camp for adena)and did the manoring system and just seeded the mobs out there cuz a zweihander(weapon i got now)isnt really that good on a monk considering i cant use any skills with it
You can manor anywhere, I was just trying to tell you the optimal place.
ok
The optimal place is in a cata/necro seeding the mobs that the "others" are killing.Best way to make tons of money and no xp.You dont need a party-if you get aggro run to the "other" and let them take the extra mobs-dont forget to seed them!
Also the "others" spoil the mobs so be sure to harvest fast enough.
ya someone told me about that i might try it

i was thinkin though i dont know if i need adena that bad i mean im a lvl 22 orc monk in wooden armor and a zweihander(i know i should get fists but if i had enough for d grade fists id buy some)and i dont seem to be doin to bad soloing mobs
I am still a little bit confused on the "Manoring" technique. The guy says that he only sells the seeds after 8pm.

So what time zone is Seighart on?

And how many do you buy?

How fast do they sell out?

Do the seeds only work in that regon?

When do you turn them in? Or can you turn them in anytime?

There is talk about people making millions doing this. However, I am sure that is in extra ordinary circumstances, right? What is the normal amount usually made in (lets say) an evening for a level 20 character?

When ever I go to a manor vendor there is never any seeds.
ya im not really sure how people are makin millions of adena off manoring i mean i got all the golden codas and crap like that and im turnin em in all im gettin is like vendor trash like threads and stuff and i never see anyone doin private shops around the place im gettin the seeds from

then again im not in giran but i got like 72k adena right now and im kinda tryin to save up to were id know if i ported to giran and sold my stuff id have enough money to buy some good d grade fists
Yes selling things seems like it would be harder now days.
then again i am on franz and basically 3/4 the people ive seen are bots so maybe thats why
You have to, of course, use a seed that yields a valueable mat.

Place an alt in Giran to take care of your selling and buying, and learn to read all the information the manor manager presents - for example, if you study the manor status screen, you'll be able to have a fair idea of how many and which mats you'll get for your seeds.
i only have 1 account though,but would
this one webpage i know of(it censored the url for some reason but it tells how much crap sells for in private shops on franz) tell me how much the stuff would sell for in a private shop in giran
That site should dissapear actually. It deleted the market.

That site should dissapear actually. It deleted the market.

site works for me
Ehhh i meant that the INGAME market suffer because of that site....its just like an auction house!

Ehhh i meant that the INGAME market suffer because of that site....its just like an auction house!

now you cant severly gouge new players... i fail to see the downside.
Everybody (new and old players) go to that site to see the prices. If its more than that they dont buy.If its lower then they buy it.Do you see the problem?
Its not always a good thing since the price shown is a combination of all prices.Which means prices arent acurate enough AND that sites members cant check ALL the shops.
New players just need to be carefull. That site market section needs to go down.
On an auction house you can quickly check all shops and buy/resell everything you can. That site market section is the same with 1 difference:you cant buy directly everything.

It causes more problems than it solves.
so is there anywere besides checkin shops in game to know how much crap sells for cuz i like need adena bad and i was gonna set up a private shop and sell some stuff

although i did join a academy and dont u get good d grade armor(better then brig set)cuz if so then how do i go about gettin that stuff cuz that solves 3/4 my problem right there cuz my armor right now is crap
Ask ppl.Anyone outside your friend list/clan/ally wont tell you ofc.If you spent everyday a little time on the market you can see how prices go up and down.
Alot of reasons for that: castles-7 signs-events-ppl OEing/crafting stuff. So 1 day it might worth 8k adena the next day 60k (enria for example).
I think you're overcomplicating things. It comes down to time spent focused on a particular activity. I'm 10 days into my 14 day trial and I can easily make around 50k a day just taking advantage of other peoples' laziness. An example: Often on my server, there are people who sell SSDs (D-grade soulshots) in Dion for 12a each while there are some folks who set up buy shops in Giran buying SSDs for 13 or 14a. Buy up as many of the 12a SSDs in Dion as I can afford, freight 'em to my alt parked in Giran (additional cost: 1000a) and sell 'em to the buy shops for 13 or 14a. And that's the simplest example I can think of. If I know that D crystals move at 650a, I know that if I find some on sale for less than that, I can turn 'em over for a profit. I've shared this, as well as trying to explain manoring, with a few people ingame and to a man, they've all said "I don't have time for that crap". Fine. Then don't whine about how you need adena when you don't want to take steps necessary to alleviate your problem. It's one of the things I really like about L2: your choices have consequences.

Every time you log in, you have to choose who your master is going to be. Are you going to serve your wallet or are you going to serve your xp bar? Getting Clan Oath armor allowed me to take the money I'd been saving for D-grade armor and use it as seed money (literally and figuratively). But I wonder. When you say your armor is 'crap', exactly what do you mean? I've been told that Wooden armor can take you into your mid 20s (I don't know for sure because I was a moron and upgraded to Bone armor in the teens and got Clan Oath at 20). Go talk to Blacksmith Pinter in Gludio and see what he has to say.
Lisail, no offence, but IMO, what you say is both right and wrong. Yes, the presence of a site like that can contribute in a bad way to pricing. But, without information, it's kinda hard sometimes to make decisions.
More to the point, having that site stop giving out this kind of info would not solve any of the fundamantal problems in this game. On the whole, I'm glad it's there. I'm looking for X. I check the site. Oh wait, that only drops from a mob 10 - 20 levels higher than me, or a major RB that my alliance isn't big enough to go after. (Or maybe it only drops 1 in 40,00.) OK, lets's see - it sells for something on the order of 5 mill. Conclusion - I'm just going to shop for it in Giran. On the other hand, let's say I check the site and find that the rec and blades for item Y spoil at a rate of 1 in 25 from mobs that are only 5 levels higher than I am. And I also see that item Y sells for 200 mill as a complete item. In that situation, I'm probably gonna ask my clan for help to get the drops and craft the item, rather than buy the item.
Oldfart-when you see that something is rare to drop/spoil you already KNOW its gonna cost ya.Im not against the drop/spoil tables. But the market section just needs to go.
Im not a trader that sits 24/7 in Giran. But selling something above/lower JUST because that section says so....i dont like it.
i kinda think most my problem is i use up alot of soulshot fast(maybe thats just a thing with tyrants..well im a monk right now but whatever)so i was wonderin if i made a dwarf alt that could craft soulshot that might maybe save me some adena so i dont have to buy any plus i can sell soulshot to make adena would that maybe be a good plan to make some good adena and im not really sure what class(i never play dwarfs)can craft soulshots
at level 20 dwarfs can go scavy or artisan, only artisan can craft items above craft level 2, getting a lvl 20 artisan is a very smart move if you want a continual source of money (albeit not much at any given time) I know several people that start with DSS shops in the lower towns and it provides a small supplimentary income (and can eventually move to selling CSS, BSS, etc if you take the time.)
ok cuz i think i might just make a artisan cuz at the moment im like really needin adena for some good d grade fists

unless theres a better way then the manor system cuz im not really makin that much adena from manoring
Im making 450k per hour on a lvl 20 twinked manor alt with ori ore.

Im making 450k per hour on a lvl 20 twinked manor alt with ori ore.

i dont have enough adena on my main to twink my dorf out though :(
how long would it actually take if i did lvl this dorf up though cuz i was thinkin about just makin a artisan to craft soulshots but i heard bounty hunters can make craploads of adena and at the moment i play like 12 hours a day but soon that'll be cut down to like 8 hours a day(gettin a job during the day)

/agree. death to that [censored] market page. just like to add one thing. if person A and person B both have the [censored] program they can change the current market price of any item by selling back and forth to one another. stem goes for 5k now?? thats what [censored] says so i guess thats what person C will set their sell shop at. its completely exploitable.

on topic...

ya im not really sure how people are makin millions of adena off manoring i mean i got all the golden codas and crap like that and im turnin em in all im gettin is like vendor trash like threads and stuff and i never see anyone doin private shops around the place im gettin the seeds from

sell mats in giran. stick to bone, varnish, and oriharuken ore until you feel comfortable. mobs with x4 hp yield x4 fruit (not really but it sounds like a good rule of thumb). the manor lord has the option to either give out type 1 or type 2 rewards for each fruit, take careful note of what reward you want to get. most likely the older players and bots will beat you to the trade in but you can save the fruits and try again another day.

edit: other things you can do. reroll a light elf, transfer your current gear to them and level up to about 18 or so, doing all the quests there, especially the spore quest, until you puke. at that point you can do the rat quest until level 25 or so but i ussually dont make it that far, weak stomach. its actually less borring than manoring for several hours on end though, and although you can make a quick, reliable 300k doing this, it takes 7 days to delete the character and do it again. as mentioned in another thread, you can make an alt (dont do this on your main becasue people might just never stop PKing you) and run around various higher level parts of the game where nukers and archers like to xp and dont pick up their drops. great reason to explore the world some. you can make an alt light elf, run to giran and tell the high level players there that you just got a level 3 quest and you need port money to get back to elven village. you can go to lineage2.stratcis.com and find out what mobs drop the parts for the weapon that you want, then make a alt dwarf and craft it. and the best one of all. work for a lazy player. on teon to start out i had people that gave me money to do the wolf quest for them. another player gave me 200k to find him a recipie for leather (this was before the days of [censored]). on devianne i hunted karul bugbears for brig helmet parts that a particular dwarf needed. talk to people, find out what they want and if you are capable of it, do it.
Mhmmm i got both. The way i got my top d weapon when i was a noob:

1)Make a dwarf fighter
2)Get lvl 1 spoil (every dwarf has it)
3)Take the Grim Reaper quest for adena
4)Kill the shield skeletons near Ruins of despair and spoil them for animal bones
5) seed them for varnish
They are weak to blunts! You dont need to make a scav/arty-just a dorfie. It will take you a week though (getting enough adena for top d i mean).Depending on the price of animal bones on your server ofc.Shield skels are ~lvl 15 btw.You can delvl the dorf when needed.
what about just makin a artisan for adena farming? cuz i dont bot or ebay and i dont really mind if its gonna take a while to lvl up(heard dorfs lvl slow)
I think you cant spoil and seed anymore, I tried that a month ago and I could do one or the other

what about just makin a artisan for adena farming? cuz i dont bot or ebay and i dont really mind if its gonna take a while to lvl up(heard dorfs lvl slow)

costs money to make money on an artisan
fair enough its not much money at lower lvls but you still need an investment in time and adena
just do what lisail said and if you get a chance do some manoring
i have been manoring lately but i havent really gotten much adena out of it(maybe its cuz im buyin soulshot alot and thats kinda costin alot after a while)but i do seem to burn thru my SS pretty fast i was kinda thinkin about makin a artisan anyway to craft SS so i dont have to keep buyin it and wastin adena i think that might be alot of my problem
seed spoil kill harvest sweep is the proper order.
im a orc monk i dont have spoil
thats right u dont. in that case. seed kill harvest... or better yet dont do manor at all, if you dont enjoy it for what it is, boring as it may be. i suggested a handful of other things you could do to make money. reading/posting on forums wasnt one of them.
maybe i should start savin my mats im gettin from manoring and when i get a crapload of them then sell them eather to private shops or vendor cuz really im thinkin i should be makin more adena then what i am now with what everyones been sayin

sell them to a vendor

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER do that!!!! is wasted money!

hoard mats: sure, if you plan on crafting or setting up a sell shop in giran definatly, but never ever even contimplate selling basic mats to the vender(NPC).
Better yet save all the animal bone, varnish and stone of purity you'll need a lot of those to craft your B-A gear on higher levels

ok cuz i dont know someone told me usin the manor system(im lvl 24)in a few hours i could get enough for top d grade but ya im not really makin that much off this but im guessin its cuz im vendoring most the mats i get
well the manor is tricky and you need to learn a lot from it first, I been playing for a year and until now I know how to use it correctly, you need to check
1: the seed you buy and the mat it will give you back, remember there are 2 possible rewards for each seed, the mats that have the highest demand are animal bone, varnish, stone of purity cuz you need a ton of those for armor or weapon craft on high levels
2: the sell price the higher the better, you can actually sell your fruit to the manor on other city but it will charge you a small fee
3: if there are still mats available for the seed you bought if there are at the moment you buy the seed chances are that when you use all the seeds or at the next day you may be able to sell and get the mats
lol
well thats where you are going wrong man
a base mat might have up to 40x the value that you recieve from selling to a NPC

so in summery
seed mob
kill mob
harvest mob
turn in crop
sell mats in giran
ya i think im gonna try next time i get some mats sellin em eather to private shops that are buyin the mats or just makin a private shop cuz i need some d grade(lvl 24 orc monk in no grade with a borrowed polearm)

Im making 450k per hour on a lvl 20 twinked manor alt with ori ore.

Jesus wept, and my best (at 22, first character) is 225 on ori ore.

Pwn, you're stuck. Lemme tell ya why I say that. Even if you make a dwarf artisan to craft your soulshot, how are they going to do it without the recipe? I'll admit, I LOVE how L2 works in this respect. Is manoring fun? Not really, I'd rather just kill the freakin' mob rather than cast rainbows on it beforehand (I'm not real big on foreplay in MMOs). But, I've seen the benefits of those rainbows so I do it despite my mild dislike. My problem is, I sometimes fall into KKND mode and forget to harvest after the kill. I've also gotten quite lucky with my Giran based alt (BSPSD rec, bought for 20k, freighted to main, sold in Dion for 425k).

If you sell mats to NPCs, you're cutting your own throat. LITERALLY. Ori ore sells to vendors for 1500a. Players (on Lionna, at least) pay upwards of 10x that much. I'm looking at a buy shop right now buying ori for 14,000 per and I have 36 units of it (as well as 300+ Golden Coda I need to turn in). You want easy? Fish. Fish oil is selling (there are 5 buy shops in Giran right now on Lionna, buying Fish Oil/Greater Fish Oil and Fish Scales).

You have 72k adena right now, you said? Work the market with soulshots. It's what I did to start out. It takes patience and knowing the going rate of things (and while a website can help, there are way too many fluctuations that can happen and throw the site's figures off-kilter). I deal with consumables almost exclusively. Armor and weapons take too long to move, for my tastes.

Yes, you probably should be pulling more adena than you are now. But there's a reason why you're not (this thread has several of them). You're two levels higher than I am but I had the relative benefit of friends who played L2 in the past constantly drummed into my head "You have to play the market or you'll be broke and in ghetto gear" and "You need to spend as much, if not MORE, time chasin' adena as you do chasing xp". Heck, one friend made a fairly crass analogy ("The market in L2 is like a woman. Spend some time on it and maybe a little bit of money and pay attention to it and it'll put out" :p) but the point was taken. I saw how true that was when I used the scroll of escape to Giran and saw stuff being auctioned (in shout, of course) for 100+ million, including a +3 brig set for 60m. I was like, "D grade stuff is 60 freakin' million?!?" but, every market has its extremes.

You have millions of adena staring you in the face based on what's been suggested in this thread. You don't need to roll a dwarf. Besides, even if you did, you'd still need the recipes to make soulshot. I made a dwarf for much the same reason (though I'm not an SS spammer by any stretch. Too cheap :p) but she's stuck at level 12 because IMO leveling a dwarf is kinda like watching paint dry on a hot day (i.e. isn't there something more FUN I could be doing?!?). I'll deal though and get her to 20 when I can.

Time to roll up your sleeves and try to get the unpleasantness over with as soon as possible.
ya i think im just gonna stay with this manoring system and just start selling my mats in private shops and as far as prices i think im just gonna look at what price other people are sellin the stuff and just sell mine for that price to
i might be switchin servers though im playin on franz at the moment but it seems like(i know its a euro server)i lag alot on franz plus all the clans ive been in arent that active
fastest way? ebay - that's what most of the ppl does. And it makes me sick. I don't blame them tho. Everything's too **** expensive in thias game. Makes me wonder if it is worth it to go down to their level...? ... I think I'd rather quit the game than buy adena. I've tried this manor thing and I've got nothing out of it...
Lol !@&* buying adena, what a waste of money. I would rather buy a number of things with that cash!
Thanks for necroing a post

... I think I'd rather quit the game

That's how you make the money. make friends and hang around them like they the best thing ever. When they quit ask for they gear ;)
Could anyone point me to a good guide / tutorial explaining the Manor system? It did not exist when I last played L2, and it seems I need to get my head around it. (Also, if someone could PM me the website with pricing data - I know some folks find that controversial - but it would be helpful to me as someone just getting started.)

Thanks!
That was exactly what I needed. Thanks!
So.. I was reading a thread in the suggestions forum, and those people are saying nobody even uses the manor system anymore because its impossible to sell your fruit before the bots sell theirs? But it seems like some people in this thread are using it fine.

Do the bots dominate Bartz or can I try to use the manor system there? (I rather not spend money on seeds if I'll never be able to sell the fruit.)

Re: fastest way to make money?

Hai guys! Like, I joined Lineage 2 and I dressed up as my favorite character! Can anyone help me on like, the Luna server?? Here's my pic ^^ Please send me a private message and I will tell you my character's name ^^

...bots tend to follow certain 'players' like stink on poo. When server transfers opened up, there was a notable decrease in bot activity that seemed to follow those who left. Some just never came back after a ban and others just left. (Why 'farm' if no-one is buying or left to buy?)

That said, easy way to check manor 'usability'. Check the seed sales and fruit buybacks at three times:

1)15 minutes before manor reset. (*pm CST)
2)Immediately after manor reset. (Like no more than 5 seconds! )
3)1 Hour after manor reset. (Or within 1-3 hours.)

If the manor is empty/bought out within 5 seconds, you are probably fighting too many bots. If the manor is not bought out immediately, but is sold out within a few hours you have a 'strong' manor. If reset rolls around and seeds/fruits are not sold out, then either you have a hawt opportunity depending on your server economy, or that manor is very poorly setup. (500a cobols with 350a buyback? That's 'fer bots!)

Sometimes as a castle/manor changes hands things can go from good to bad and vice versa. Thus sometimes it pays to watch the manor a day or two after one changes hands. Several times I've gotten some good stuff in and out after a hand change but before everyone else who bothers to manor notices.

I also tend to 'stock up' on seeds, manor when I have time or the prices are really good (on the alts or whatever) and then sell back when the buybacks are decent. (Providing I have money to buy seeds at the time...I've bought 1M-2M in seeds at times, even if it takes me several weeks to use them.

Note also, even on a heavily botted manor, you can still make decent money on lesser materials if the sales/buybacks are good. It takes more effort and judicious choices, but it can be done. (Although it's easier to do this 'casually' instead of all out for cash.)
I thought the manor just trades your fruit for crafting materials - so what do you mean by buyback prices?

Just figure out which mats get what prices from players and sell them to the players. You will get quite a bit of money if you keep it up, I promise.

I thought the manor just trades your fruit for crafting materials - so what do you mean by buyback prices?

How many materials you get back is determined by the buyback amount.

Each material has it's own 'base value' that the game/NPCs think each one is worth. (NPC's offer 1/2 this base value if you try to sell one to them.)

Thus the formula for selling fruits back to the manor, for determining how much material you recieve is as follows.

Number of Fruits * Buyback Value = Total Value
Total Value / Material 'base value' = Number of Materials you receive. (Or need for each one.)

Fractions are rounded off with a % chance of one extra material equal to the % of the value traded in.

For example: Chilly Codrans can be traded in for either Iron Ore (200a, Type I) or for Mold Hardner (23,000a, Type II). If the buyback amount is 400a, you would get 2 Iron Ore for each fruit turned in, BUT you would need 57.5 fruits for ONE Mold Hardner. If you turn in 58, you would have a 0.5% chance of getting a second Mold Hardner as well. (L2's Random number generation means it's 'safer' to go over by the .5 than it is to go under.)

You have no control over what material is offered, this is set by the manor lord. (Although you can mail a manor lord and ask that they change the reward type...not all will answer much less grant your request, but some will depending on the seed and how active buybacks for it are.)

Your main choice is picking which manor you are going to sell your crops back to. (That and choosing which manor you buy seeds from, as seeds are region limited.)
It sounds like a really neat system - from the design standpoint, it's a clever way to correct for problems with the relative drop rates of materials. If the gaming community needs more Iron than the game's default drop rates offer, relative to other materials, this system allows the players to compensate by making mobs drop that mat.

I just hope they deal with the bot issues - I know my friend was able to use the manor system on Bartz during his 20's with no problem.

By the way, I don't want to start a fight - but about that controversial website, I have to say that as a beginner I find that site *incredibly* helpful. I don't understand why folks would be hostile toward it, to be honest.
Only NCsoft is hostile towards it really, because the info in the database comes from a naughty third party program, which is by definition not permitted to use.
