i got a deluxe treasure chest key drop from a monster. im jsut wonderying what it does and where are the treasure chest's? i got a lvl 20-30 one it says.
The treasure chests are just laying around on the ground, and re-spawn, just like the monsters. They are usually, but not always, in the same fields where the monsters drop the keys. If you don't see them where you are hunting now, don't worry, you will see them someplace else.

are the treasure chests those monster chests?
there are 3 kinds of chests: mimic chests which explode on contact, real chests that will either open with a key or will do nothing when broken, or mob chests which attack back.
Actually there are 2 of them: mimics and real chests.
Mimics attack when being opened or hit.
Real chests open when key is being used, and explode when being hit.
Well.... My view is slightly different. I recognize two basic 'types' of chests; real and mimics, but with three actual varieties of chest. The mimics attack you when you use a weapon or key, or try to spoil them (you cannot use seeds on them.)
Real chests will simply disappear if you use a weapon on them. If you use a key, they have two responces; they again simply disappear (rare) or they open, dropping their loot on the ground for you to pick up.
So, I view chest as having three varieties; mimic, real with loot, and real with no loot.

You are half-right, there is only 1 real Treasure chest mob though.
"Real" chests aren't much different than mobs in how they drop...which means there is a chance to get nothing.
There are a limited number of results you can get when interacting with chests.
1)You hear a "Ting" sound and the chest disappears.
Basically this means that the Key or unlock skill failed and by default you get nothing. (Note that the lid does NOT open.)
2)The chest Opens, but fails to drop anything. (Note the lid opening animation.)
That is, no adena or items generated by the drop tables. This is the same 70% chance to drop adena almost every other mob has. If you do get adena, the amount is 2x the normal amount for a same level mob.
3)The chest opens and drops adena and/or additional items. At times this means you can get an item, but no adena. Items are usually enchant scrolls, but in extremely rare cases full items have been reported to drop also. (Think the usually 1/3,000+ chance mobs have.)
how do u know what chest is witch???? i used a key on a chest and ot did nothing. just attacked me and i killed it!
In any given area with chests, 1/2 will be actual treasure chests and 1/2 will be 'mimics'. They are named identically so the only way to tell them apart will be to either hit them or attempt to open them.
If you hit a Treasure chest it will explode and disappear. (Modest damage overall these days, although in previous chronicles it hit with insane damage.)
If you hit a Mimic (Disguised as a Treasure Chest) it will attack.
If you attempt to 'open' a Treasure chest you will get one of the three results I listed above.
If you attempt to open a Mimic, it will attack.
Thus, anything that attacks is a Mimic and any other result is a treasure chest. Chests and mimics are random in what they will be when they respawn, but in general the game will the distribution of chests to mimics is 50/50 over time.
Thus if you find a field of chests, kill one and only one, the newly respawning chest is not guaranteed to be the same (mimic or chest) as the one you killed.
In C4 you could one shoot (nuke) the treasure chests to open them, but in C5 they added very high mdef to the real treasure chests so that you almost never lower it's HP to less than 50%, but if it is a mimic you are able to kill it because it has the same low mdef as before.
