What If You Can't Manor?

Player Questions Started Last reply 25 posts
Pretty much everything I've seen says manoring is the way to go to make money. In theory this sounds good but there's one thing that doesn't allow me to do it pretty much ever and that's my work schedule. I've checked manor managers when I get home from work but they are always sold out of seeds by then (between 8 and 9pm PST). As I understand it, the manor "resets" at around 6pm my time and I can't be home and in game by that time which means I miss out.

My questions is: what other ways are there to make decent money in the level 20-40 range?
Make alts and make them do the repeatable adena quests. You could hunt without shots on light blues and greens. Those are probably the easiest things that you could do right now without too much work.

That's pretty much what I've been doing. Except instead of making alts, I've just been farming the repeatable adena quests until the quest mobs turn blue.

My favorites so far have been The Grim Collector and Making The Harvest Grounds Safe. I'm just starting the Black Lion one now.
You could try fishing, or asking a friend to do handins/seeds for you - or someone who takes commissions. Some people also like farming sealstones, buying low and selling high (especially through mammons or luxury store), overenchanting (risky but profitable - not my cup of tea though, thank you very much x_X), crafting shots, or spoiling (which you can do well while farming for sealstones). Poling also works nicely since it lowers consumable costs.

I'm sure I can get you seeds on Lionna, and I'd be willing to buy the crop back from you for a rip-of--competitive price :p
would i make more adena manoring with a dwarf then with another character cuz i kinda screwed myself when i got my clan oath armor i got heavy armor and im a monk and i have light armor mastery so a friend of mine crystalized my armor and i found out when tryin to see if i can turn the crystals in so i can get light clan oath instead of heavy so now im lvlin up my dorf i made but deleted(i still had like a day before deletion)so i can farm enough for some good d grade light armor
Make a Light Elf mystic, freight your lowbie gear over to her/him and do these quests: from Sentinel Rayen@ lvl6: Hunt the Orcs (this gets you ss). From Trader Herbiel@ lvl8: Collect Spores quest(gains you 3,500a each time. Do this quest repeatedly! Actually, don't leave town without getting this quest every time since the shrooms are just about everywhere you will be for the rest of these quests!). From Sentinel Kendell @ lvl10: Skrimish with the Orcs(gets you ng weapon). Sentinel Starden @ lvl 11:Legacy of the Poet(13k adena) From Sentinel Knight Alberius @ lvl12: Sea of Spores Fever(another weapon and ss). Also @ lvl 12 from Hierarch Asterios: Protect the Water Source (18k adena). And from Trader Unoren: Curse of the Underground Fortress (24k adena and bone shield).

I have done these on alt after alt to raise the adena I needed for d grade. On the elf you can do these quests in 2 days tops( I usually end up with around 200K each time). Create/delete/rinse/repeat if you cant work around the manoring problems.
Take the fish shot quest and just have it going in the background as you go about doing other quests, leveling, etc.
Then every once and a while convert the sweet fluid to fish shots and sell them at the store.
You can make a little bit of money with no additional effort. :D
hmm ive been doin the manor system but i havent really been makin that much adena off it and i was lookin thru the forums and found kinda a guide to what seeds to get at what lvl and im wonderin if maybe this would work for Franz to(not sure if the economy is the same on all servers)

lvl 11-22 Chilly coda
lvl 14-24 blue coda
lvl 17-27 Golden Coda
lvl 20-30 Lute Coda
lvl 23-33 Desert Coda
Use the seeds above their listed level on multi-HP mobs. Enjoy.

What server is this on? Furthermore, what mats are you getting and/or trying to sell? And, though it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, I have an alt (well, with the new 2nd account, two alts) parked semi-permanently in Giran. This allows me to play my main and not have to run to Giran (or worse, port) every time I need to check a price or what not.

Seems to me that making money in this game is a process. While manoring is okay, it's not surefire and still requires a great deal of effort to do. Like, I JUST learned how to manor with a nuker type (hey moron, queue up a nuke while you're seeding, derrrr). Also, it helps to establish a network of sorts. I have about 3 BHs who usually contact me when they get consumable recipes to see what I'm paying since it's less of a headache to sell to me for a 'fair price' rather than hold out for top dollar and have to sell it themselves ("More time spoilin', less time on me [censored]" is what one says :p).

But yes, I'd recommend having a friend buy your seeds if you can't be on in time to get them yourself. I've had a lot of success of late with dark and red coda since it seems few people buy those seeds (6200/7200 was the count yesterday at 11pm EDT on Lionna when I last checked. And the first 1000 bought were by me :p).

If you're on Lionna, PM me and I can get you some seeds at cost.
Fishing is really good to. If you fish and just sell to the buy stores you'll make major money. And if you setup a sell shop youll make even more.

And when you reach B Grade, The quest that you hunt Orcs in The Cem (lvl 52 and you recieve it from Guard Coleman in the South Exit of Aden. That quest is a real Money manker. Ive hunted half the day there and i recieved like 300K adena. And the XP is good there too. You can hunt from 52 all the way to 60.

there arent as many buy shops anymore because the people that were making buyshops before didnt know about the manor system or thought it was too complicated. if everyone on your server is competing to trade in the same types of fruits its not really a productive way to make money. look for repeatable quests that you can do in addition to hunting mobs. werehouse keeper's pastime has like a 15% chance (assuming htat you have won the game) of giving you a c-grade enchant scroll per 10 tokens. L2 is filled with repeatable quests that give you the means to make money.

ya i was thinkin about fishin cuz i mean currently i have no gear and i kinda hate manoring so i might just try fishing
most efficent way to make adena's will be then not useing SS
but it can be very hard to do that sinds mostly people are killing white mobs
but if you kill light blue mobs they still drop adena's and you dont realy need to use SS on them so lets say you spilt your time half part where you hunt whites other part of your time hunt light blue
but what do you mean with alt toon 24/7 in giran
do you like buy another account wich you pay montly for?

or you log in 2x with your account?(thats not possible right?)
Have you tried to sell your crops in a private shop? I mean, go to a manor manager, see how the crop you have is bought for, make some calculations and make a shop there selling the crops. I am sure there would be a lot of people that have access to manor on the exchange hours, that would love to buy your crops, so they can trade them for mats.

Yeah. I bought two boxes ($10 each) and started two accounts. On each account is an alt who is parked in Giran. I haven't yet gotten to the point where it makes sense to play two chars at once (IMO, that doesn't come until after the first class change, at the earliest) so one account can be selling my crap while I'm playing on the other. Quite a bit easier with L2 since you get 2 months for free (15 day trial + 15 day gamecard code that comes with the box + free month that comes with the box) but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Hehe. That is an option I hadn't yet considered. I may end up taking you up on that at some point. :)

Thanks to everyone else for your suggestions as well!

I think my main avenues for income are going to mostly be tied into repeatable quests and selling spoils. Sure it's no get-rich-quick scheme but it is a steady income nonetheless.

you mean the actual crop? or what you get when you turn the crop in ive never tried sellin the crops im gettin just the stuff i get when i turn them in
Here's another suggestion, make a DE fighter. Get it to level 9 or so. Swim North until you get to Rune. Bring some healing pots and an SoE. Go to one of the high level nuker solo areas, like Forest of the Dead of Valley of Saints and start picking up all of the drops on the ground. If you die, you die, no XP loss nor Death Penalty. Just go to town if you die and run back. Be sure to ask if you can as some nukers might not appreciate you picking up their drops that they were too lazy to pick up.
Another suggestion is get some money first, then go to Gludin, buy materials for very low price then go to Giran to sell (make sure you know prices of the materials first in Giran so you do not get ripped off when buying). I just leave a buy shop open overnight.

Deleting a character takes 7 days, so that wont be very fast..
