Does anyone have it or know anything about it? Costs and such?
I hear it's pretty good unless there is cloud cover. I currently have cable but I might move somewhere on top of a mountain, middle of a forest, or live on a boat. The third is most likely and I need to run my shops. Dang this game.

Avoid Satellite like the plague if you want to game. The only way to upload (aka talk to the server) is through a dial-up link. (It's your downloads that come via the satellite.)
I did some support work at a large forune 500 co. not to long ago, and some of the reps used satellite...it was near impossible to provide any real support over satellite. Even dialup was easier to deal with than sat. Dialup may be slow...but it's usually consistent. Something a satellite connection isn't. (When comparing latency and lag.)

Thats not true.... The new DirectWay dishes work both ways. But still, it makes it impossible to game.

Just hit their site....doesn't say when they made this 2-way available, although at the time I last had to deal with it no-one I talked to had the 2-way service.
Prices have come down a bit though if their site is an indication. Last I heard it was running around $90 minimum for the cheapest service. But that was around 2 years ago.
Doesn't look like they made any headway on the lag/latency issues though.
I can say it has been out for awhile, because at the time i did look into the two way system. And i doubt they will ever be able to reduce the lag/latency issues....
The circumference of the earth is 24,902 miles... The distance to the satellite is 22,300 miles so a round trip on the two way dish is 89,200 miles. So you just made a trip around the earth twice.
