Hi everyone,
I've just started a futur Gladiator for fun and change my mind in my free times. I've thought of getting some company with either a Wolf or a hatching (don't know anything about the types).
I was wondering if pets are good to lvl with (I mean both my pet and I getting exp). Also, wich one do you think would be the best since I'm a DD. Please, share your experiences with pets!
Thank you :D
Well a wolf gets killed fast especialy from magic or archers. At later lvls u will need crowd control for him to keep mobs of him. He can do some good damage especialy when fully buffed but you will always need best equip for him. Thats not to expensive thought ( upgrade at pet manager ).
Hatchlings there are 3 different ones. The twilight will lvl very fast but has no real skills, no good patkl or pdef and gets killed fast but also eats almost nothing.
The wind is a tank like pet high pdef and good patk with proper weapon good for melee chars without hate/ crowd control.
Star hatch is more a wizard type pet it cast a burst and can heal himself. Instead of good patk he got good matk he also laks of pdef a little. He is also useable but dies faster then wind hatch.
The hatches become striders later you ca ride on. Beside the riding i think the star has the best skill for party later. His burst has the best damage output on all stryders i think he gets even higher then the wolf will get with his patk.
Oh remember also the more lvls a pet has the more it eats.
While wolf equipment is cheap to obtain hatchling and stryder equip is quite costy.
I think finally I'm going for a wolf, since I'm low in lvl and it's less costly.
Thanks for the links you posted, it was very usefull!
I'm going to warn you, a wolf is HARD to keep alive. Their pdef and mdef is extremely low for the mobs YOU will be facing. Their HP isn't all that great either.
With a gladiator, it's going to be tricky, as you don't have a whole lot of crowd control abilites. The best you can do is use a ranged sonic move to open and take initial aggro, and pray you do enough damage to regain aggro if you lose it or a mob just plain decides it HATES your wolf. (A mob that spawns behind you as your pet runs past it is almost impossible to get off.) Thus MP use could be an issue you run into.
I'd suggest that if your going to hunt with a pet, that you use a Wind hatchling. Those at least have a decent pdef/mdef and a UD type skill. I use them to hunt with my dwarves, as they are the only things that seem to be able to take a few hits before my dwarfs can stun/spoil the aggro back. (I'd *never use my wolf with my dwarves...too easy for them to die.) And I don't even have the best gear for the hatchlings either. I have the best for the wolf and it's still not enough.
I could grab some stats later, I don't have any current ones atm. But my wolf is L57 and my best Wind is L52 right now.
PS - It helps if the pet is a few levels higher than you or the mobs your fighting.
