but I was looking over temple knights (i always like to tank)
they in demand or am i just better off choosing a dps class?
If you really want a TK go for it but it will be really hard for you to get parties and exp as a tank.

If you want a better dps class go with an archer or orc.
welcome to L2!!
TKs are pretty boring, every time i tried lvling one, i rerolled :p but you can choose whatever class you want, it's all about preferences.
go onto the Gustin server and pm me (Gharik) ingame when it finishes downloading :p i may help ya out ^^

if you choose a DPS class go..........Gladiator or any dagger class

Some days it seems like *everyone* is better off choosing a DD class. :(

A Temple Knight however, is the antithesis of a DD. Lowest STR, Lowest Damage of all tanks, some might even go so far as to say their dps is roughly on par with a Dwarf....their main 'ability' seems to be mostly having the highest shield block rate of all the tanks. TK's have histroically been one of the most 'ignored' classes by the developers balance/nerf bat. They have gotten a little bit more love with C5/Interlude though.

Anyhow, there really is no 'demand' for a Temple Knight....but then again demand for *any* tank is almost non-existent. Offense is currently king in Lineage 2, and it often seems like Defense is only there to make you die slightly slower and with as much despair as possible.

BUT! Who knows, the next Major update could change things radically. (Interlude is a minor update, not a Major one.) If the new Primitive Island added in Interlude is a indication of things to come, the devs next major changes could make them necessary again. As it stands now, tanks are only really needed for raids (and you only really need 1-2 for most, and raid drops got nerfed enough that few are considered 'worth' doing.) and a couple of the 'tough' mob locations that few people go to anymore since they are soloing their archers and nukers with their buffboxes in the 'easy' spots.
What type of MMOG experience do you bring to lineage2?

Any my bit of advise is, play a race/class that you would enjoy.
EQ/Wow

Does race also impact what class you choose?

Tried sending you a tell gharik but your not online ?

anyways any suggestions on a dps class that solos well? :P
since i dont know anyone here, hah

Glad/archer was recommended, any races?
You have each race {Orc, Human, Dwarf, Light Elf, Dark Elf} and then different professions for each race.

Each race has a heavy armor class that i would define as a tank.
hmm 2 classes : fighter and mystic. i assume reaching a certain lvl i'll be able to choose archer? (fighter to archer?)

Take a look under "The Library" section.....

Races (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/race_human.html)
In general, Light Elves receive very little love from Lineage 2. Defensive classes have it even worse. A well-buffed dagger user can out-tank a tank in most situations except for large raids, so for most of your career you'll be considered as not really usefull. Until that one time your clan wants to do raids and realize they need you but they forgot to help you level up since you'd have slown down their exp rate.
You serious?

First off, tanks dont ever loose to daggers unless the dagger lands a lethal.

Second, NCsoft hates Light elves?

Did i miss something about the SPS and SR and PW?

Perhaps the fact that all three are the absolute worst of their class in comparison to the Human and DE versions?

(exception: human Sorceror is equally bad or slightly worse than Spellsinger, but Human Necromancer is the most powerful nuker overall)

Even if you like the Tank path, Paladin, Dark Avenger, and Shilien Knight are better overall than TK in almost every way.
Thalenduros pretty much covered everything I wanted to say except...

You should change that to "special", as even sub-40 tanks lose to daggers fairly frequently. Daggers land their specials often enough, and have such incredible DPS, that they can often simply slice-and-dice a comparable tank to ribbons within a short period of time... not to mention that the 25% land rate, from the front, of the various "Blow" skills is still a lot better than most tanks' complete lack of comparable skills.
