magic resist makes it that nukers can't overpower the damage of an archer. Well there are more reasons then that why an archer > nuker but for this topic that's the only thing that matters.
Nukers still kill...and fast, just not as fast as an overstacked archer.
I'd just like to add, that it takes a fair number of no-so-commonly used defensive buffs/songs to reduce nuker damage significantly. PvP could be over with before one party can respond by adding buffs normally left out to prevent over-buffing.
Thus it's usually an attacker that has the resist buffs, and conversely probably needs it the least.
And in a siege type pvp situation, people are probably going to die enough that only the first two rounds (Initial buff + Blessing of Noblesse...if they have it.) is where you will see it. After that, your buffers are going to be so low on MP all most people will have after that will be "the basics".
Oks with high end buffs a nuker will hit you for 400 dmg.(thats on an archer)
With high end buffs archers crit for 4k+ dmg 50% of the time(every second shot).
well for starters spells never fail as a general rule
attack a mob even close to your lvl and a nuke will never fail (debuffs will fail maybe 10% depending on the spell)
attack a player even remotely close to your lvl and a nuke will never fail (debuffs can fail anywhere from 10-50%)
this all assumes you are useing blessed spirit shots
at high lvl you can stack an amazing amount of resists to drastically reduce spell damage and in some cases resist against certain debuffs
there are however a limited amount of buffs you can have and 99% of the time most ppl wont have the needed resists to get down to the magic 400 damage you hear nukers talk about
they are however right that archers can do alot of damage and there is not much you can do to resist against it
