Congrats you finnaly put an ad out for Lineage 2 and pretty big and noticable one on the back of the newest PC gamer..... Now to just get it reviewed :)
Well, if guys are so keen on advertising for L2 then here's (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17763281/) something to look at and maybe drop your 2 cents. I never heard of two of those titles.

OMG really????
I can't cope with news like that on a Tuesday afternoon, far too early in the week.
All I can say is it's about time, lets hope it's the start of a regular thing and it does some good.
ive even seen it on these boards; one person proclaims a wonderful thing about a particular class, and the next thing you see is most of that starter area filled with rerolls.
One ad, in the right place at the right time will cause a hugh effect. Picking and placing it is another thing.
See SuperBowl Ads in America. I can't speak to the UK since I only see the BBC news from the states, but I would think world scoccer championship games would do the same thing.
hell, look at Borat and what it did for tourism for that country. LOL
80%+ of NCsoft america, are outside america players if its china, europe, australia or other countrys, its a single fact.
More popular games such as world of warcraft have pulled the player base away because of a easier leveling base, seeing l2 is too brutal for many to handle to be able to compete and not get constantly owned.
Unlike in wow, farmers control most the markets of l2 and set alot of the prices.
The only way to save face and to stop the decline in l2 players is to merge servers, no amount of advertising will achieve this.
Just because more accounts are being made dosn't mean there is more people playing, we all know there is less, when ncsoft advertise that they have hte same amount of subscribers to when beta and prelude was there, you have to remember that most players only ever had 1 character and maby 1 in 10 had a 2nd which was a buffer, by c2 this went to 1 in 5 having a buffer.
It is not uncommon now to have 4-5 accounts each, simply because you need it to suit the situation.

WoW actually has more farmers than L2. Blizzard has (supposedly) banned more farmer accounts than L2NA has ever had players. The difference is you don't see them because of instanced zones, and a wider availability of items makes the money-grind less painful.
The same is true of EQ2 and pretty much any other MMO. Where there is a grid or a Shiny Geegaw to be had, there are farmers and botters to make it easier on those with the means.
well the simple fact is, World of warcraft is say 3X bigger a map for high end leveling than l2 ever was and the farmers on WOW hardly ever "farm raid zones" unlike our raid boss farmers. I actually never saw that, they just farm gold and really dont annoy anyone pretty much, because if they do they get reported and banned quite quickly.
Yes there may be more farmers in WOW, but that is because their player base is what, ok lets say 50X our american player base compared to theirs, which im pretty sure would be true by the amount of servers they have and players per server.
You know if NCSOFT follows that with a new and shiny Prima Guide, hell you'd have a blitz!
Go Go NC
btw, I don't see why NCSOFT Korea doesnt just create a print version of what they are already doing. I mean they have all this time and resource to create 3D related content, how hard would it be for them to publish their version of an updated Prima Guide? Then it would just need to be translated and it would be available here as well. They already have the artwork and the talent to illustrate the pages.
People like to curl up with a book. Most people even those who are internet savvy don't like to spend hours reading stuff on a website. ewww
For example, my job is in IT, especially programming that deals a lot with the web. I couldn't stand reading a whole bunch of documentation on the screen. Thats why the world will never truly go "paperless" because people just don't like the medium to read huge books on.
Besides theres nothing better for a fan than to have and own a actual, "physical" handbook or booklet for a hobby of theirs.

Hehe, 3x higher end map for leveling.
That is rich. I don't be thinking they have ever seen anything like the FOD or the any of the S grade level hunting grounds over there.
But that is a digression.
The only way you can compair the two is by percentages and none of us really know those on any of these games because the game programmers don't really know those numbers.
NcSoft needs to re-evaluate the "buy" part of getting the game.
Give out the CD w/ a code key every 3 to 4 months in a magazine. with that code key you get 15 - 30 days free in game. After that, you pay.
Can only activate the game w/ a game card (which can be sold) or by Credit Card or pre-deposit to them. Hell, even pay-pal woudl work.
No need for NcSoft to be at the whims of the box stores and it would have to lower costs in the distribution of the game.
The other idea woudl be to do the same thing for all of their titiles on one DVD and let the code key activate one or two of the games. Rinse, Lather, repeat.
that's awesome... glad they are advertising again...
and as for farmers... there are like zero farmers on sieghardt now... it's great.. prices are droping... going back to normal...
I think you need to go on a little trawl of the catacombs. I managed to get through 4 full petitions (and I mean full 255 character jobbies) in Witches and Apostate alone only last Saturday. To suggest that are age-old problem is diminishing is true, but only very slightly. They are still there and still causing problems for legit gamers.

You've got to be joking (high level might be dropping, i wouldn't know), i had a break from the game for about 6 months, when i lef the game for example DSS was selling mainly for 11a each and sometimes 12a and Top d weapons were selling for about 3-3.5m now i've come back and you still get the very odd person selling DSS for 11a but now it's mainly 13a and i've even seen 15a a time and as for the Top D weapons there now about 4.5m and upwards, not to mention brig helms were selling before for about 3m before are now regulary selling for like 5m.
Like i said i can't say the same for the top end of the game but the lower end like C and below the market is going nuts.
As for the actual farmers, believe me there are loads around (and that's without being in the cats and necros)
