Hello again, and got another newbie question if you don't mind.
Everyone and their mothers are talking about/selling "top grade" weapons and armor. Now, while I understand what those are, is there a list of said top weapons/armor for each grade somewhere (stratics maybe ?) or do you just have to rely on common knowledge ?
Right now the only thing telling me that my Bonebreaker is Top D is well, people telling me so. While I do trust my clan mates who have been playing for far longer than me, it would be nice to be able to plan my next upgrades ahead and not bug my clan every time, asking them about weapons and armor.
a "top grade" weapon is one which has the highest crystal value for that grade. if you go to the library/items&equipment/weapons section on the left, you can see all the weapons up to C4 (hasnt been updated yet for C5). top D is 3272 crystals, top C is 2452 crystals, etc. the exception to this is dual swords, which have thier own top crystal values but you should be able to figure it out.
np. there is a formula too, for how much aa it costs to upgrade a weapon, its bassed on crystal values, but i couldnt find it the other day  offhand i think its 440k to upgrade sub-par d grade to top d grade, and 2mil to upgrade sub-par c grade to top c grade. those numbers could be outdated though. (there is a website that tells you exact but its [censored])
offtopic: what classes did u 2 decide on?
i think C grade is the only grade with even crystal values for top duals. reason for this is that the method of creeation for duals is completely different, and crystal values represent (very loosely) the amount of effort required to get a certain item. note that duals cannot be exchanged for "converntional" weapons because of their creation method, which is eaisier.
remember... after D-grade "Top" weapon is not always the best weapon
in grades C, B, & A the "Top" and "Mid" quality weapons normally have very different options for SA
Top C dagger is Crystal Dagger it has Crit Damage SA
next to Top C is Dark Screamer it has Focus SA
alot of ppl choose the Dark Screamer w/ Focus even though its not the highest patk
they have more than 1 SA each but in most cases weapons have 1 somtimes 2 good SAs and the others are crappy...
anyway somthing to look into

I would say the crystal answer is correct. However when you see shops for "top NG and top D-grade" the list is relatively simple and is, at least in the case of NG, solely based on patk.
A bonebreaker and Elven Long Sword have the exact same patk (and crystal count)...the Lxbow and Claymore have different patks (from each other and from the first two). All 4 are "top in their class"..as is mithril dagger and staff of life.
The weapons are grouped by class: one-handed blunt (your bonebreaker), two-handed blunt, mystic weapons, swords, duals, daggers, bows, etc. There is a "top" for each class in each grade. As pointed out, for YOUR toon's set up, that "top" may not be OPTIMAL.
Generally you have to know the "top" before you buy!!!!! Many players list "top d-grade heavy armor" as Brigantine...when in fact the top heavy two-piece is Halfplate.
Be a bit cautious of player announcements and 'what everyone knows'....sometimes it is not accurate.
I can't count the number of players who have sworn that Brig boots or gloves were needed to complete the set bonus (or mithril boots or whatever).
Lots of players misunderstand details. For set completions and comparative values, this library (on this site) provides a reasonable spot to review.
Yeah, Half-Plate is top D armor (Pdef), but **** is it a PITA to get the recipes and parts to make just part of the full set. (Like pretty much every non-mammon or luxury shop 'set' at Brig level and above.)
For non-mystic weapons, the M. Atk. is a giveaway. Weapons with the same M.Atk. are often the same in the degree of Top-ness. Mithril Daggers and Bonebreakers have 54 M.Atk, as do all other top Fighter D-grade weapons. Does that make sense? If not, then don't worry about it, as the Crystal Count is always more reliable.

most of the recipes are easily farmed and can be trmendously frustrating how frequently they drop.
if the brig set bonus wasnt so good i would use Half plate. Half plate doesnt even HAVE a bonus!
The exp in necros is so nice, it would be stupid to not just strockpile seals/AA's/Blank Scrolls while I'm at it :)
You might be better off, if you grind outside of a necro. Especially if you're soloing. It's very, very costly to grind in necros and catacombs. SS and potions cost an arm and a leg, and to be effective, you've got to spam both at once.
But, then again, I could be wrong, and that might just be me.
Every NoS trip so far has left me with more money than before going in, don't have to use pots so much if I actually pay some attention to what I'm pulling.
Anyhow I haven't seen the halls of NoS in 2 levels, and probably gonna move to the next one soon :)
Playing the market has also secured me a few millions so far, so money is not an issue yet (I'll be sure to come back and whine when I can't afford C grade stuff).
Spamming shots is mandatory just about everywhere for a decent levelling pace - and if you can't afford doing so at D Grade, it's time to hurry to find a way to make a little more money, because if you can't even afford shots, gear will be impossible. :) Treat it as a warning sign.
And yes, between sealstones and blank scrolls, the catacombs and necropoli(ses?) are more profitable than most field areas.
I do spam shots, worry not, it's pots I don't use/need that much :)
Got around 10 millions at level 30, gave 5 to my wife's toon, paid 3 millions for my weapon, doesn't seem too bad to me.
By the way - have you tried duoing with a healer and using a polearm? Poling can earn you some pretty sweet amounts of sealstones for very low shot (but higher pot)-costs.
