New classes and such...

People get excited about the possibility of new races and new classes that would go with it. But what if you could design a new class, what would it be and what skills would it have?

There are two ways to look at this. Implementing as if L2 didn't exist and was being built from the ground up and the 2nd is as an add-on to existing L2.

So when posting try to specify if your build is for:
A) L2 new and from the ground up
B) add-on to existing L2

I'm just nosy to see what people have been/might have been thinking about.
Add on, If they changed everything, I'd quit. if I had to reroll, I'd quit.
I think a new race is cool and all. New classes hopefully, skills. Be a nice change.
Although I don't find it fair for the 'veterans' so to speak. especially if one of these new classes basically pwns everything.
I would add a Demon race. This is based on the idea that when their race was young, some were considered not to have the strength and abilities that were the traits of a true demon. In turn they were thrown out of their home and treated as outcasts. Eventually they moved away from their ancestral home and started their own community.

At first afraid of other races due to being forever told they were weak and a failing, they soon realised that the same other races were for the main afraid of the Demons. This in turn gave them the strength needed to have courage in their strengths and skills and to learn all they could about other classes and their abilities.

They eventually had (although uneasy) an alliance with all other races as they had inside knowledge of how the demon race lived, worked and fought.

I have not really thought about skills but it is likely they would be much weaker versions of the types held by some RB's. As with all races (except Dwarves) they would have both fighters and mystics.

I haven't really thought much beyond that as most of this post is off the top of my head :D
like 10 minutes ago i was wondering about a third human healer/buffer class. if would be a recharger! he could have some combination of heals and buffs that have bish/proph/ee/se but not that ultimate to make this classes worthless. and his specialization would be a set of skills that recharge MP of a char (or group) just like major heals regenerate MP for 15sec or so. and he would have a buff that increases MP regen as well.
Add a 4th class change for lvl people who have sub classes 75+ and it should combine the two classes as one

 like ... combine DA and HE for UDed archer? No wai!
But pdef of SE + matk of dwarf ... :p
if there'd be another class/race I hope it will be something like dwarves, wich will be an integral part of the game (crafting for dwarves) but with a somewhwat better ability to xp aswell

for instance: a voodoo class that is able to collect certain parts of mobs and use it to brew spells and sell (debuffs, ability boosts, who knows)

you'd have to collect toenails, ears, eyes, snot from mobs to make the potions >=)
yea, should be a new dwarf like race called "Troll", that has a class called Phantom Bounty Smith Avenger Walker, including
UD, an xp free summon, summon heals, backstab (available with a blunt weapon), self only spoils, crafting, and self prophet buffs.
Then the nonstop flood of dwarf posts from nameless and bighands would stop, and we could all roll one :)
There are a few possibilities. Off the top of my head:

1. Beastmaster. Go and tame wild beasts. Use them in combat or exploration (looking through their eyes, for example). Start your own farm. ;)

2. Diplomat. Charm/talk with mobs. Get them to follow you (for a time), attack others, defend you. Trade with raid bosses. Start your own tribe.

3. Shapeshifter. Assume different forms with different, unique abilities. Walk like a panther, fly like an eagle.

4. Dwarfen Mystic. ;)
I like the Dwarven Mystic / Runewarden idea
Dwarven Mystic would be cool. I subbed an SH on PTS with Mela. LOL Watching her cast was too funny. Then again, watching the reaction of others seeing a dwarf nuker was funnier!
omg... why didn't anyone ever think of this?

wich so many drama and politics making this game so unique, and there isn't even a politician class!

instead of killing mobs you'll talk mobs into giving xp and loot :)

2nd class change from politician turns you into fake girl, you pretend to be a girl IRL and get free stuff given to you.

I would rather call your diplomat a bard with a musical instrument as a weapon.
Beastmaster sounds interresting, but L2 is a bit weird when it comes to pet/summons.

A bard would be more of an Elven concept, though. Or maybe just the Elven take on it.
Well, with a 4th class change that combined a main class and a character's sub class together as one, they would have to make it only possible for certain classes to combine to each other. Like a good ideas would be a destroyer/necro, or TH/archer or even an ultimate buffer like a BD/Prophet? I think that would be a good idea

After 3 years the pvp of this pvp game is STILL redicilusly unbalanced and you speak of new race/class?Hmm..
Ok you can be a fairy. You can fly like a bee, sting like a mosquito, and get splattered like a bug on a windshield.

On a more serious note I would like to see something about druids and bards that actualy sang or played instruments. So a bard fighting might use a flute and learn different songs for it. They can also heal with different music. Of course they would not do well in pvp because they can be heard a mile away.
I have always liked the idea of a ninja skilled class, it be so cool to see a char karate chop and then leg hold/trip a mob.For pvp they could fling ninja stars/knifes, or have skill that looks like thats what they do.The males would be teens with blue/black hair, the females (also teen size)would have blonde/red/purple hair worn long or in a pony tail with a head band.
From movie it is a New Race, which would mean new classes within that Race. Why would we just want another class boost within existing races. As to something that owned the top of the food chain now, that does seem intresting. I have been about since closed beta and would not mind the upset. But they do try to balance the game, and let us say I do not want to see constant nerfing they work toward to fix things later.
