So, like the title says, this guide will show you an easy way to get from lvl 1-20 in 5 hours or less. I've made WAY to many characters that have gotten to lvl 20, so I decided to make this guide for people that might need a bit of help with the beginning lvls.
(This guide is mainly centered around fighters, but there are parts of this that mystics can use as welll, which I will point out when they arrive.)
So you start of killing gremlins in the starting area. Kill these until you reach lvl 4. If you want, you can use the soul shots that the two people give you, but it's up to you.
After you reach lvl 4, head to town to pick up the remainder of your newbie shots. Then, take the recovery scrolls given to you and sell them. Buy yourself the lowest grade weapon of your choosing (I suggest a club, since nothing resists them, and quite a few things are weak against them) and some armor. (Shirt and Pants, along with the lowest gloves and boots will work)
Next, go outside and hunt wolves until you reach lvl 6. At this point, go to town and get the quest to kill orcs. Go kill about 5 orcs (not really that hard, just don't pull too many) and hand in the amulets you get. This will give you roughly 6,000 newbie shots that will be crucial to the completion of this guide. Next, use your newbie travel tokens to port to Talking Island. (You may ask, why there? You'll see.)
Go talk to the weapons trader and pick up the wolf pelt quest. (40 wolf pelts for a piece of armor which you can either use or sell, depending on your preference)
Go outside town and hunt the wolves there, either regular or elder, and once you get the 40 pelts, hand it in. If you want, you can use the armor you get from the quest, or sell it. I'd say, if you can use it, use it. Adena isn't really that much of a problem for this guide.
Pick up the wolf pelt quest one more time and grab those 40 pelts. Again, if you can use the armor, then use it.
By now, you should be lvl 9, possibly 10. If not, keep repeating the wolf pelt quest until you are. At this point, go hunt the orcs that are outside the village. Orc Grunts are best, but if you can't kill those easily, then just regular Orcs work fine, as long as you kill them fairly quickly. Kill these until about lvl 11-12.
Depending on how much adena you have (a minimum of 15,000) go back to trader Simplon and upgrade your weapon. Don't worry so much about the armor, because a better weapon is much more important than better armor.
By now, you should be fairly well off with equipment and such. Go outside town, near where the orcs are, and hunt the werewolves and goblins a little farther north. These will be a bit harder, and will take a little more time, but the exp is worth it. Kill these until you reach lvl 13.
At this point, you'll have a good chunk of adena. Go to your starting town and complete the weapon quests. (This is mostly just for a bit more adena, and the newbie shots/potions) If you want to use the weapons you can, but I suggest selling them to upgrade your current weapon. (Upgrading them is best, because you do more damage) Also, at this point, you should have enough adena to upgrade your armor to a wood set.
(side note: if you don't know what the weapon quests are, check out L2 stratics, or the quest log here and it will explain it for you.)
Go back to Talking Island. (Again, this is where the blunt weapon will come in handy.) Teleport to the Western Part of Talking Island (it's way in the Northern part of the island) and hunt the Granite Golems and Crashers there. These are some of the best mobs for lvl 13-20, since they give upwards of 700 xp each, plus they have a good chance of dropping jewlery.
Kill the golems until roughly lvl 17. If you want, Talking Island has a quest that allows you to get a Wooden Breastplate for killing and collecting shards from 5 golems. It's somewhat irrelevant, but do this quest if you want to.
At this point, you have a choice. You can either stay hunting golems until lvl 19, or, you can go to Gludio now. I suggest going to Gludin, since the mobs that will be explained shortly are easy killings if you have a blunt weapon, and give slightly more xp.
From Talking Island, use a newbie travel token to teleport to the Elven Village. (From here, teleportation to Gludio is the cheapest.) From Gludio, teleport to the ruins of agony. (Make sure you still have at least 9,000 newbie shots, or, if not, you have about 1,000 regular no grade shots, and also a good chunk of potions.)
From where you are teleported to, go across the road. Here, there are Ruin Zombie Leaders, Tracker Skeletons, Tracker Skeleton Leaders, and Skeleton Scouts. If you have a blunt weapon, this is basically a paradise for you, since all the mobs respawn fairly quickly, and give a good amount of exp. And, since herbs drop here, you won't need to use too many potions.
With those, you can easily get to lvl 20 in about 2 hours, depending on your playing style. (That's from lvl 17. If you stay on Talking Island until lvl 19, it will take you less than an hour to get that last lvl)
Congratulations! You have now successfully gotten your character to lvl 20, and I'd be willing to bet that you didn't die once throughout the entire ordeal. At this point, go do your class change quest, change your class, then I'd suggest trying to find a nice clan that will let you into their academy so you can get the clan armor. As for a weapon, I've yet to discover a good way to get a decent d grade weapon with ease.
Thanks for your time in reading this, and I hope it helps you lvl your fighter in relatively short time!
Nice guide I hunt pretty much the same (no questing needed for me though) mobs with top NG heavy and a Swordbreaker on my academy alts.
Didn't make it under 7h with completion of class change yet though.

There is also a quest in the Temple from Magister Harrys that will earn you Wood Gaiters I believe. You can also to the quest from the WH Keeper for a Buckler to add to your gear. Its a lvl 6 quest to kill the toads.
Once you get to Elven village, if you really need to save adena instead of teleporting to Gludio, port to the Neutral zone, run south toward Gludio just a few steps (past the large rock on the right hand side of the road). Now use a SOE and you will end up in Gludio.
See Capt Gilbert on TI.
Start his quest to kill orcs and werewolves.
Go back when you have and he will pay for the kills but also gives 6000 nwebie ss. Any class.
Easy Quest on TI. Darin pays a necklace for 2 mins of running.
Guard Arnold also has a simple 3 min quest that pays 2 rings, 3 ng ss ! and some usefull exp.
We've updated all the orc, human, and light elf quests for C5 as well so be sure to check out (http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/library/quests/) which ones have which rewards, including the bonus "newbie" rewards.

The Guard Arnold quest on TI strangely pays 3 NG SS when you visit the NPC in the magic shop. This is mid way through Arnold's quest.
Fantastic guide, only thing id add is i found dwarven village better for golems. Slightly more XP and way more than on TI. Thats providing there no "Special Players" About :)
Nice guide for a true starting player I think; but most experienced players can do 1-20 in about 2-3 hours :( Though sometimes it's fun to just let go and have fun once in a while.
I consider myself an experienced player, but with only twink gear (without outside buffs) I don't see how it is possible to do 1-20 in about 2-3 hours. In fact, for the hell of it I followed this guide when making an alt and it still took me about 7 hours, and that was with warcryer buffs too...
Main issue for me is a lack of mobs. If there was actually a decent place with mobs below level 20 (2x or even more preferred) it should be alot easier.
Also tried it with a nuker, and again, lack of mobs. Im sure Im doing something wrong! I know bigbooming a char used to take me 2 pulls to get a char to level 20...Please enlighten me.
No I didnt use the newbie buffs, but since I used a Warcryer for buffs I had every necessary buff apart from windwalk, which comes in pots anyway. (no zerk either, but that does in no way make up for the difference in time).
Mmmkay, since my SH twink went from 1-20 in 4 hours or so, but yea the main problem with lvling is that there aint enough mobs. Especially when you have a high lvl healer/buffer/recharger babysitting you.
How can anyone do 1-20 in 2,5 hours ?
I had a huge area of fast spawning 1-shot mobs all to myself on my dark mystic with my SE buffs and the newbie acumen, i was killing mobs at a mad rate, and it still took over 2 hours going 18-20
1-20 in 2,5 hours is bullcrap,

Hm try the floating 2x hp eye thingies (Monster Eye Searcher) outside Dion. They are weak to wind - so with top NG weapon, emp3, zerk, blessed sps they should be very easy to kill with wind strike (2shot), and they give like 1500 exp each. Each of them should give like 1% to 1.2% per kill at 19/20. Do the occasional Encu Orc Champion for 900 exp while moving between the eyes, and if you have the place to yourself, you should be able to do over half a level per buff round with a recharger in tow. Well, that still would be close to 2h for 18-20 >.<

there's a spot in orc newbie area with an unbelievable mob concentration and very fast respawn time. i go there when i level up new chars.
unfortunately, the level range is rather wide, so you could be looking at yellow and light blue mobs right next to eachother :P still, it's the best xp.
not advisable until your last skillset before classchange, though.

1-20 in 2,5 hours is bullcrap,
18 to 20 = 200% / ~.45 per kill = 445 kills on avg.
445 kills * 6(seconds per kill) = 2,670 / 60(sec per min) / 60(min per hour) = 1hr 14min
Add in some extra movment and pickup time and your still able to do it with plenty of time to spare. (Even take time to go to town and buy skills/supplies.)
So, it can be done. Did it with a Human Mystic this weekend and now working on the DE. Could have been faster but I was running around activating/completing all the quests as well.
If you dont have top NG weapon to twink with it will take a bit longer, but not by much. As a fighter it's easier, as a mystic you can run out of MP (making you sit) if you don't get a MP herb drop for sometime in the 12+ level ranges where your replenishing your MP from leveling slows down a bit. Although you can forgoe the free SpS and use BSpS to make things faster.
L1-10 shouldnt take more than 30 minutes. (Even with your newbie weapon!)
L11-16 less than 1.5 Hours
L17-L20 no more than 3 hours.
You just need to know where the good concentrations of mobs are, and there are several in all ranges for all the starter areas. Although some are better than others. Ideally, you don't want to have to run far for mobs...just sweep from one part of the field to the next so by the time you turn the mobs have respawned.
...its crazy how fast you can level now from 1-50 with the herb drops. 1-20 is over in just a day, 20-40 in a week at most and 40-50 maybe twice that and only then does it really slow down. (Herbs, shadow weapons, newbie bonuses/exchange...) It's a far cry from what it was like back in beta days, where you were having to sit for MP/HP regen all the time and scraping for a meager peice of gear.
Of course one you run out of the shadow weapons and newbie bonuses your triply screwed as you rushed through the 'learning stages' of the game and then plow face first into L2's atrocious economy at warp speed after being indoctrinated into constant shot spammage by all the free stuff in NG and lulled by not having to buy an expensive weapon in D grade. I'd go so far to say, C grade is the new No-Grade and everthing below that is pretty much dust in the wind.
Heres how I prefer to do it. Now granted this is without doing any quests for gear. Simply a new toon with a some gear. If you are completly new to the game I suggest when you log into your character the first time wait for someone to say something in hero chat. When you see the blue text type "name Hi I am a new player to Lineage 2 can you ask if any clan is looking for an academy member before I start leveling. 9/10 times that person will announce your new to the game and looking for a clan. Almost every clan will come down and "twink" you with top NG gear. But make sure to ask for it before you accept invite to clan. If they will not give it up, tell them youll find someone else and pm your hero again. Neways once you have a decent setup (jewelry is optional).
Fighter:
Go to LE village using a newbie travel token. Go out the north gate into the shallow pool around the tree at the base of the bridge. Kill gremlins there until lvl 4. Once you are level four go into town and head out the South West gate. At the foot of the bridge make a hard left and kill the goblin lookouts and wolfs there. As you lvl work your way west keeping the road on your right. Do not go past the spore fungus. If you cross the road beyond the hill they spawn on you will most definately die. Keep working that area until you are lvl 12. Soe or run to town to learn skills for the first time. Before going to learn your skills stop in the magic shop and sell off everything but basic materials and restock on SS. You will need to use a noobie travel token again to travel to your respective town of origin. When learning skills I suggest you focus only on offensive ones at this time. For LE And DE learn sheild and might auras. If not focus on weapon masterys. With any extra sp (which there may be only a little left) learn any other skills you can. Its best to focus on only the skills that your weapon can use. (i.e. dont learn power shot if you have a sword) Once you have learned skills go back to the newbie guide "get help from beneficial magic" and go back to LE village. Once in town, port to Elven Fortress. Go inside and kill back to the rooms you feel comfortable with. I prefer to stay on the skeletons. And avoid the archers. Note there are small rooms off of the first main room. which will give you about 15-20 mobs when added to the number that spawn in the main room. Hunt inside elven fortress slowly working your way back til your lvl 15. At 15 return to town and learn your offensive skills first followed by your defensive ones. (go through the port routine as above if you are not a LE - make sure to get your newbie buffs!!!). Now port to the neutral zone and head south following the road to gludio. There will be huge rocks that will rise up and skirt the road before you get to this part of the road vear left. You will see an abandoned house. Pass it and keep heading East and South as you can. You will soon see some large spiders and ratman spys and maybe a few other ratman scattered abaout. Welcome to Utopia. These ratman and spiders will respawn fast, are single hp and able to be killed in 4 or 5 swings of your weap, drop herbs so no hp issues and give the same exp as the mosters outside of dion (except for the 2x eyeballs) As you level work your way south towards gludio. The highest lvl mobs you will get are cheiftans and the bugbears. Hunt here until lvl 19. Once you are 19 soe and go do your class change quest. (I prefer to do this now because your probably getting tired of hardcore grinding by this point. Once finished you will want to go to Abandoned Camp via Gludin. From the port spot put the archway behind you and head south west. You will see a half built home appear with ol mahum novice. EXP here on these mobs. They are agro but easy kills with your newbie buffs etc. and the respawn is really nice. Youll hit 20 about as fast as possible here and then soe switch occupation and congrats.
Now for a consise leveling plan for mages:
In LE village kill gremlins like the fighters to lvl 4 then move to the south west side of town killing orcs and working back. Keep working back til your lvl 11. soe and lvl your magic skills (only offensive direct damage ones. Do not worry about poison.). Port from LE GK to Elven forest and head west keeping the road on your left killing dryads til you get to the spiders. Somewhere around lvl 11 or 12 you can kill those spiders in 2 shots. Kill those til 15 go get your skills - and move to the ratman til 19 and then do class change quest and head to Abandoned Camp and go to the same area I gave directions above. Kill there til 20.
These are the fastest ways I know to get these early levels done in 1 night. Sorry the mages explanation isnt as ellaborate but I am kinda in a hurry at the moment. If needed I will revise and flesh it out a little more. Give this a try on your next academy toon and let me know if you like the spots. Good luck and thanks for reading this :)
-equip a lvl 20 dorf with B / A / S blunt + ghp
-make sineater for that toon (no exp till other toon is lvl 20)
-give him some nice buffs
-party with the lvl 1 toon
-kill 3 - 4 lvl ~20 RB
-make 1st class quest with the new toon
-equip the new toon with B / A / S blunt
-kill more lowbie RB in duo :p
ususally you lvl 30 - 35 after 3 hours ...
thats how we do it (dorf power) :o
the penalty is like non existant on low RB, blunt = accuracy bonus

(ever seen a dorf critting 700 - 1000+ on a RB?)
And you get full xp off that? wow I've never really thought of that...
yea but its not as easy as it sounds. it takes about 10 min killing a raidboss with 3 people, fully buffed and BD dances.
so solo, it takes some time :/
(This applies to mystics who are grinding from 1-20, particularly in places such as Spiders Nest; unaware if this has or has not been mentioned yet.)
OK, this is no *big* issue but will save you time nevertheless.
If you're trying to get your toon to 20 and you're hunting in Spiders Nest... only learn Wind Strike and Ice Bolt to the level which costs you 10 MP to cast. (I think it's Level 3 for them both.)
You will, most likely, be two-shotting the spiders despite whether you have Wind Strike/Ice Bolt Level 3 or Wind Strike/Ice Bolt Level 5 - the main difference is the amount of mana it costs to cast. (Level 3 ~ 10MP : Level 5 ~ 15MP)
i.e:
With Wind Strike/Ice Bolt Level 3 you'll spend 20MP killing a mob.
With Wind Strike/Ice Bolt Level 5 you'll spend 30MP killing a mob.
Like I said, it's no *big* issue, however that extra 10 MP each kill adds up and will just mean more downtime for you!
Keep an eye out on how much mana it costs to cast a spell
I've done Bifrons yesterday without any buffs on my 28 dwarf.
Full Brig set, GHP, GSAP and SLS*SLS+4 Duals.
Took me about 60 GHPs and 1300 BSS. Boss went down after about 26 minutes.
It is possible. Though Bifrons is a hell of a weakling ;)
I'm currently trying on other bosses as well as getting an outside PP and maybe a SE as well.
