L2 was a big deal back in beta, and during chron 1, with the player base that it was looking at they might have been striving to add features faster. But with NCkoreas complete lack of advertising in the NA market all their games die.. fast over here. if we brought in more money Korea might look over and pay attention to us.. but .. we don't. Money is everything, Korea sees the U.S. as having a privilage to play their games over being a necessary step for profit, were just a side note in their little black books.. nothing we can really do.
Actually the subscriber amount is increasing currently (judging based on the last few quarter end reports ncsoft shows).
Server transfers would be nice but maybe they should make it so people have to pay to do it.

Not getting all of it, just a quick summary of available services ...
1. Character transfer from one account to other account of the same person (no server transfer!). Cost: 19800 KRW (about 21 USD or 16 EUR).
2. Sex change of a character. Cost: 9900 KRW (about 10.5 USD or 8 EUR).
3. Character name change (you create a level 1 character with the new name and apply for the change; the level 1 gets deleted, your old char gets his name). Cost: 19800 KRW (about 21 USD or 16 EUR).
4. ??? Server transfer, I think. If I got that one correctly (which I doubt ), you char arrives at the new server with no equipment, but with some money based on his level. Cost: 29700 KRW (about 30.5 USD or 24 EUR).

Also, upon further reading, I think that's just the maximum amount of money you can transfer, not just get for free. Still not sure about the other equipment.
considering they could basicly make 100k in a week from this i dont see why not.
Kain im sure would lose about 300-400 accounts, eventually the servers will be forced to all transfer off if they want real fun to go to somewhere else, thats where th big money is. that and name changes.
Actually, if they keep loosing player base the way they have been, they won't have a choice. Eventually the servers won't have enough players on them to justify keeping them all up. Once they reach that point, they will have to move players to other servers as they begin shutting some of the servers down.
They're not losing players. They gained like 15,000 subs in NA last quarter.
Obviously you know nothing about skewing figures for marketing purposes.
Sure they had 15,000 more accounts sign up than last month. How many of those do you think were repeat customers? If they have the same amount of accounts as in Closed beta when there was 1.2 Accounts Per person. Now it would be 2.5 accounts at LEAST.
Think about it, its not new players, its repeat playes making "new exp chars"*coughs* because no mass bans as they all know how to avoid.
also you got to distract the week try out accounts which have been
massively used soley for academy chars and those used by farmers..
as ferst is saying the figure of current active accounts that truly logs
in on the servers (in the last three months) is what counts not some
marketing shout out which isn't even close to reality - sadly enough :(
