So im looking to make a 2nd account for my clan and parties that i run.
I dont want to make a PP cause ....well their buffs can imo be easily overrun by orc ones.
Im wondering if it would be better for my clan/ally to roll out an overlord, or to just make a warcryer for the single party i am in.
I do not have the time or energy to roll both and test everything myself.
Anyone with knowledge into the buffs of both and which are better for what, please let me know.
I have looked through the skill lists on this site and im still stuck :(.
Someone please help me.
Prophet learns better buffs and more buffs at early levels. both orc buffers are bad for mixed groups. both orc buffers only shine at lvl 7x and no sooner.
....ok well im sorry but i can sacrifice a few patk points and such for being able to buff an entire group or more at one time
i didnt ask your opinion on PP's i asked ppls opionions on WC's and OL's
Exactly what Crawlerin said. There are other differences between WC and OL. But the first and biggest difference is that an OLs skill set is designed to support clans and Alliances in big-scale PvP. A WC's skill set is designed to support single parties.
As far as secondary differences, I know a few to tell you about (although there are other posters who know much more about this subject):
1) A WC's buffs are all for fighter classes, with the exception of acumen. OL's get some buffs to support mystics, such as Empower (or it's Orc equivalent).
2) WCs get an awesome buff at ~ lvl 78 called ChantOfVictory (COV) that raises fighter stats by like 20%. However, I think OLs are getting an equivalent buff for alliances in Interlude. I don't know if the new buff includes boosts for nukers and fighters, or only for fighters.
3) OLs get a lot of debuffs for AoE and for attacking other alliances. However, I hear a lot of gripes about these debuffs (called Seals), and I would be inclined myself in any comparison to regard them as useless for PvP, although possibly useful for pole parties.
4) OLs can heal CP. Although with CP pots, this seems to not be so important.
5) If an OL is in a party that includes players not in his/her clan or alliance, I'm not sure he/she can buff them.
2.) Chant of Victory raises all stats. It does in essence everything that propehcy of fire, water and wind do minus VR effect, MP regeneration boost, and magical critical rate increase.
5.) No.
To summarise the classes IMHO - Warcriers are the most common actively played buffer. They have an almost complete PvE buffset for fighters, although they are lacking in essential protective buffs (Resist: XY buffs for prophets and EEs, Mental Aegis, shield buffs) for PvE versus archers and/or mages.
OLs can buff nuker parties only, as they are missing essential buffs for fighters in PvE and PvP both.
WCs start being competitive with prophets (as buffers) at 56 when they get haste 2, and pull past them at around 66.
For the purpose you want it for: Party buffer, boxxed.
WC, OL is not even to consider here.
Think OL as a CP healer/very weak buffer.
Think WC as a Prophet, with less shields but with VR/Agility.
OL cant buff fighters for PvE XP.
OL cant buff nukers for PvE XP. (Empower at 76+ somewhere, no recharge)
OL cant heal anyone except ally memebrs.
For PvE, OL is the worst buffer you can get out of the buffers basically. Becouse for PvE you often take in outsiders (no buffs for them). And even with ally parties only.. were talking VERY mediocre buffs for XP/PVE.
WC has everything for any fighter type, and althou PP is better for archers, WC is enough for them too, especially at 78+ (but since its a boxxed char im assuming mid 60..).
And if you want OL for PvP to, well.. you need the OL to be played LIVE to do any good with CP heals and such, cant be boxxed.
Hope my view helped. Have 58 SE, 58 PP, 44 OL, 40 WC(leveling). And i know just about any skill any of these chars get, since im a buffboxxer [censored]...
OL is the weakest buffer of all buffers and the weakest healer he is no buff bot. His strong point is in ally scale pvp or siegie because he can buff all the alliance in one stroke. It's interesting player to have as main.
Prophet is the best buffer for fighters and he get's his buff very early unlike the wc who's start to be worthy after 60.
Wc is the second best buffer for fighters and can buff a whole party in one stroke. He is good in situation of haste like pvp that you mast buffed fast but start show his abilities after 60+
If you want a pve buffbot for fighters go prophet it's the cream of buffers
Then again i believe SE is the best buffbot for a clan. it has all the mages buffs and the most needed of fighters buff. Not strong in one point or another but it can be used by fighters and mages alike
Well I don't know the specifics (as I don't play any of the orc classes) but I do have both WC and OL in my allaince.
It honestly depends on how you envision the long term.
OL can buff a whole alliance in one go, where as a WC can only buff one party. But if you have out of Alliance people joining in they won't get OL buffs.
I would never, ever disuade anyone from playing an OL, but I do believe in your particular setup, the WC is going to be more useful to your clan and seeing as how it is a 2nd character, you are never going to get to the levels where the OL will be able to help you out much.
I see alot of WC as 2boxed any more, never see that with the OL.

Actually looking for just XP/PvE - the Warcrier outshines the Prophet in buffs for melee characters. That is becouse of VR+ all offensive buffs and most defensive > All offensive+defensive without VR.
There is also a big thing to consider here, sure a PP get his skills done at 56-58 while a WC has to go towards almost 66.
But i know for a fact that even with BW and mana up at lvl 58, there is NOWAY you buff a 9 man party with a prophet, especially boxxed. 6-7 max and you will be buffing for a long time, time that you can act with you main character in the party (hope your not the healer or tank ;) )
WC is one macro, 8 ppl buffed.
Think he should consider this since hes mantioning clan party support.
If you want to compare it to classes you're probably more familiar with, WC beats a prophet for melee buffs and OL is sort of the large event (pvp/siege) equivalent of the bishop.
If you use an OL as buffer, you'll still need an other buffer: no haste, no focus, no vr, empower/dw only at 77, etc.
If you use a WC buffer, you'll get all basic buffs + haste/focus/dw/vr and at much higher levels you get cov + the new 79 prophecy they get. TWO prophecies!
Big thing OLs can contribute are alliance cov at 79, quick mp-efficient buffs for large raids/pvp and cp cure / heart of paagrio. HoP is pretty much the battle-heal equivalent of chant of life, takes a split second to cast instead of the ubber-slow-casting CoL. Unfortunately HoP is also heal over time, I'd love it if it were a one-time cure like the battle heal it should be ^^

Heart of Paagrio is a 'partial' heal over time. (Some HP is healed instantly.)
Chant of Life is a 'pure' heal over time. (No HP is healed 'instantly'.)
BSPS + HoP = additional HP healed + slightly faster cast.
BSPS + CoL = slightly faster cast.
For party buffing, the warcryer is much better. might and shield yea yea yea. but you can't have a party without haste and VR.
yes of course, the OL is better for sieges and raid bosses. and the OL fights pretty good too. but if you want a 2nd box to buff a party, you are still gonna need a pp and se or wc. again, OL don't got no haste or VR.
A WC is at best a secondary healer, mostly because they need to conserve mana for buffing, and also because their heals are HoTs. I have a WC I box with my Destroyer, so it can be done. (Although you mostly sacrifice healing when you solo, a boxed WC with a dagger will help a Destroyer kill strong mobs something like 20 - 25% faster, if the player is willing to work the keyboard.)
Ok well so far all your opinions have helped, but heres the thing.
This is not a 2nd box, this is technically a 3rd box.
I send my 60+ EE out with my main when i level, cause well i love my EE.
I do not plan on using this third box buffer as an actual buffer until A grade anyway, so low level buffs like ppl were saying mean nothing to me.
I really dont want a prophet cause well they are very slow buff wise.
I need a whole party or clan/ally buffer just cause my EE is boring me :P
I love the OL's buff's and heals and would actually consider playing the OL life in a siege and PVP instead of my main if need be.
Outside of ally/clan buffs can be handled by my EE if need be, but i mainly only stay within clan or solo anyway, to much drama if i join up with random people.
Basically i want to make a buffer than will be able to support my clan (since i am the leader) or at least 1 full party of it.
I was leaning towards OL because of full ally buffs, but im now wondering if it would be better to just make an WC for one party, and have other WC's going up with my clan as we move along.
What im really looking for are not only opinions, but actual facts as to if the OL's top buff beats out the WC's top buff.
Say for p.atk? or p.def? or something like that.
OL's also seem like a fun toon to play as a 2nd main, where as WC's look like they are just buffers with some DD thrown in.
If your clan is active, maybe an OL is a viable main. All the indications I've heard are that WCs are generally much easier to play as mains. That said, do you generall have multiple parties playing physically near each other with lots of nukers? If the answer is yes, and you have the patience, an OL could be useful. If you generally only have 1 party at a time on, or if you have a high concentration of fighters most of the time in your parties, go WC. (Also, it seems to me SEs are fairly common and are good to buff nukers, although I haven't ever really made a real attempt to count them on my server. I know my alliance is loaded with SEs.)
I can speak directly to this.
I am a mid level OL, leader of a clan / alliance. At level 67, my solo leveling has slowed down considerably. I can still do it, but when you look at a WC, well, it isn't even in the same ball park. The main problem is that unless your clan is super active and you have some awsome DD and buffers, trying to get parties with an OL really isn't easy. You don't bring much to the table until you are PvP'ing in groups, or seige. I keep at it because I do know that at mid 70's, this toon will be awsome, but you have to ask yourself, how long are you going to play it and when will you be able to get it up high enough to do real good.
CP heal is fun, but those **** pots made even that special skill something not really needed. Heart is nice, but the Mana cost is way too high unless you are with your full clan/alliance.
to sum it up, OL is not your boxxed buffer, hes your Live Ally support healer.
if you want a BUFFER, you got 3 choises.
PP for archers (works for melee)
WC for melee (works for archers)
SE for Nukers (works for melee, meh for archer)
OL shouldnt even be considered as a PvE buffer...
But i guess if you dont have a problem with you OL buffs and heals only going to ally members in your parties, and you feel like OL could be your mainclass for sieges - then sure his buffs would be of some help, but at higher levels you still need to bring a real buffer with your parties. (if you main is the clanleader, you should play the clan leader for flag and such thou.)
Also saying your EE buffs non-allies is like saying the nuker buffs shield/might 1 and perhaps frozen or blazing skin on them :).
