so far thats a no-go. if it was possible, there would be at least 3 PTS servers and some people being asked to start on one and move to another before we ever expect to see it properly in play on the live ones.

korea already have that service so yes it´s possible ^^
The services that are live in korea are *toon transfer, *name change and *sex change.
I agree with the topicguy, it would be nice to know where NA stands in this.
It have been millions of threads already where the community have talked about pros/cons but nothing from the NA staff.

lots of KR games do that.
what works in KR doesnt always work here. cultural differences, playstyle differences, etc all make some of these services (and even parts of the game itself too) not condusive to NA playstyle.
for example; the Swamp of Screams. nobody hunts there. betcha in KR servers theres wars over that territory.
for the reason? twofold; KR people play not just for exp or adena. some of them LIKE TO LOOK AT THE SCENERY! the drops there are increased. people with short spans of available time can hunt there in netcafes with their multitudes of buddies for a quick drop.
everyone in NA servers concludes one thing: not worth the time.
well seems thats just ONE example of something in this game that divides KR and NA.

in KR: guy moves to a new netcafe that for the most part is full of players from server X. well since i dont have the time/money to reroll, i will pay a bit to move there to group with those guys.
in NA: reroll shmeeroll, i know a guy with a 77 SR on that server and i know he quit. maybe i get his toon and ... *POOF* instant griefer. /whine /qq
Swamp of Screams is the best kept secret. The reason why no one hunts there is because you need a tank for when the mobs run away. Use aggression and he turns right back around lol.

1x HP mobs, if you're using a tank it means you're not soloing and it means the Exp sucks. I hunted there for noble quest, it's nothing to brag about.
And inside, all the mobs are extremely strong pdef except one of them, which happens to be a hard hitting mage-type. It'd be fun if the mobs weren't so strong. But, a good nuker party might have a ball there; if they have a tank..those mobs hit hard as hell with SS.
In KR many things work differently form NA....
Gameguard i.e. works fine in KR yet messes up in NA....

Yet,as soon as I wrote that,I came to realise that botters will work miracles and gain thousands of RL money...

the service is between accounts on the SAME master account... so for someone to sell a toon he need to give the new owner his logininfo to the ncsoft account website to be able to fix bill plan etc... you think thats gonna happen^^

Not getting all of it, just a quick summary of available services ...
1. Character transfer from one account to other account of the same person (no server transfer!). Cost: 19800 KRW (about 21 USD or 16 EUR).
2. Sex change of a character. Cost: 9900 KRW (about 10.5 USD or 8 EUR).
3. Character name change (you create a level 1 character with the new name and apply for the change; the level 1 gets deleted, your old char gets his name). Cost: 19800 KRW (about 21 USD or 16 EUR).
4. ??? Server transfer, I think. If I got that one correctly (which I doubt ), you char arrives at the new server with no equipment, but with some money based on his level. Cost: 29700 KRW (about 30.5 USD or 24 EUR).

No. I like the fact that our world is very different from Korea and it should stay that way.
This game was designed to be played by a larger player base like the korean servers. This game is being played incorrectly because of lack of players on many servers.
They need to fix the NA servers by giving us a larger player base through transfers/merges just like they do in korea. Having a larger player base also corrects a lot of balance issues associated with the Olympiad.
NA Players deserve the same options the korean servers get., there is no reason not to implement these options as they have already been tested on the korean servers & it work fine.
No, this game is being played incorrectly because we have hardly any of the right players here. The ebaying and botting has ruined the PvP. Having more of them in one place won't fix the issue.

how can people be so longsighted that they know the result before even test it? and besides that, even accusing those who would like to test these kind of NEW services?

anyway, the last word is on NCSoft, which doesnt give us any answer but the formatted "we re looking into it" and i add the last... hmmm 2 years or so, maybe more.
well, as it seems, the situation is NOT the same as 2+ years ago, where game was new and everybody wanted to join.
no marketing, no advertisment, very few new players that ONLY if they see the game to some friends and willing to join, and even then, the new player will be dissapointed by the starting areas and all the fgdfgfd,bvcvbcvb,yutyuyu,gffgj that are everywhere.

I aggree there are cultural differences, but all of L2's competition is offering server transfers in the US. This means that it IS a part of our US culture.
If Korea has it, we will have it soon enough... Our gameguard doesn't work effectively because of our US privacy laws...
My personal opinion is that the korean's have way more servers then the North American version. Also consider that Franz is a fairly new server and for server transfers to be alloud at this point would place an unfair advantage to the Franz players. Personally, I would love to see server transfers but maybe a year from now when Franz is completely caught up to the other servers.

i'm gussing ur not playing on franz at the moment? if u are then you need to open ur eyes m8. syn already have most of the hero's, lots have drac bow's and other s-grade weps. its something that isn't fair behind the other servers. yes other servers have more s-grade and stuff but franz is not fair behind at all
as for server transfers it has it's pro's and cons. i deffinatly think they should be merging the servers. u have the 3 main servers, bartz, teon and franz and the Sieghardt and Hindemith (i think are the next largest, forgive me if i'm wrong) and then the rest. i have no idea why they can't reset all the castle's and clan halls, give back the adena that they paid'd for the CH's and move the less populated servers to the 3 main 1's. it would make everything soo much more interesting i personly think.
as for "this is unfair" rubbish i would just say, tough luck, its the best for the servers and players.
