and I just decided to go play the card game on the PTS. You get 50 quest items. And then you go turn them in to play once.
and "playing" consists of some text that tells you to cut the deck. Then once you click on the link, it gives you 5 "cards" and I put the word "cards" in quotes, because it is just a set of very un-card like boxes with question marks. You then click 5 links below the "cards". The links say "turn over card 1" "turn oer card 2" etc. As you turn the cards over you realize that they are even more un-cardlike then before. Since the "cards" are really just a single letter/number/or other keyboard symbol. Once you have turned over your """cards""". You then recieve a reward based on how many pairs, and I think maybe some things like full houses and such. I got 2 matches, and recieved an enchant D.
I'm not sure what the top prize is or what the chance is to get it. But the title "mini-game" for these quests was obviously a horrible joke.
You don't "play" cards in any sense of the word. You grind for quest parts, you turn them in, you click links, and get a prize. Woopty-doo.
How does NC keep winning at content limbo!? No matter how far I lower my expectation bar, they manage to easily limbo right underneath it.

Reminds me a lot of the BINGO quest in Aden from the FREIGHT dude. Lots of work (time) put into it for nothing!!!!
But maybe this one would atleast give you some thing for collecting the 50 items, unlike the other one. Just takes your 100 stolen ore and you pick numbers only to read Oh so sorry........... Pfffft
I am complaining about what passes as "content" in L2. The fact that they called the card quest a mini-game, might lead one to think they would get to play some sort of mini-game. But instead of spending a little time and actually developing a fun little mini-game, they saw fit to just make a clone of the very un-game like bingo game. And at least with Bingo you get to pick your numbers. With the card game, your cards are picked, you simply "turn them over".
At the rate I xp I doubt I"ll be seeing any of those quests for quite some time. *huge sigh* Ahhh well. Endgame content is what its all about anyway, isnt it? /end sarcasm
It also sounds like a never ending event, sorta. We are now getting more for killing the same mobs so it is a clear 'plus' for this orc.
Like I said I'm fine with the rewards. But just getting good rewards does not = fun. At least not to me.
Lets imagine I had the most boring, mind numbing job in town. But at the end of the week I got payed triple what I would at any other job. Now I might stick around for the money, I might get a lot of joy from cashing that paycheck and spending it. But it does not make the job fun.
And L2 isnt a job, its a game. When the only "fun" your having is occasionaly being rewarded. There is a major design problem.
well i know a clan on Kain who will be outfitting there people with the new Spell books and quests once Dino island comes around. they have alot of people and raid pretty much everyday so i doubt it would realy be a problem for them. so i can say that im sure there will be a ton of alliances hitting up the island to jump on the bandwagon of rare items
What's going to be the next big thing in Interlude? This is an easy question considering the huge lack of any real addition. For a chronicle that took so long to come to the NA servers, I was left in shock when I saw that there was almost nothing new being added.
I would say the augmentation system which is available to players of all levels is going to be the big thing in Interlude. Dino island might have been big, except I believe its going to be found to be more risky to hunt there than it's worth.
Weapon refinements is my guess. It's really the only thing that I'm looking forward to in the short term.
As for Dino Island, well if it takes a server to beat Antharas, I can see a similar thing happening with Dino Island. Let's conquer those prehistoric critters en masse!!! I want a pair of dino-skinned boots and something to hang over my fireplace mantle. :D
